    Free Air Rappel
    Desiree G.

I've done plenty of canyoneering but nothing prepared me for the free air rappel I did off looking glass arch. Experience of a lifetime. My guide was amazing

This was simply a great experience. James has been doing it for so long and made us feel so comfortable and safe. He was super chill and knowledgeable and gave great advice when we were unsure. By the end we were all joking around having fun like we had known him for a long time. Highly recommend doing this if you are in the area. We did the Bow and Arrow four repels that are simply breathtaking, especially the 110ft free hanging repel. Definitely worth it to do all four.

We went on the "Bow and Arrow" tour in early October and it was phenomenal! Our guide Jackie was friendly, knowledgeable and made it a wonderful experience. The rappels, hiking and views were absolutely perfect. This will be a MUST DO for anytime we come to Moab!

Spent a couple days with Moab Canyon Tours and it was an incredible experience. The guild was extremely knowledgeable and experienced in canyoneering, climbing and more --he did a fantastic job of teaching how, as opposed to just doing for you. He was extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding area and its history, and great to be around for a couple days. Sylvan really made the advanced climbing and technical slot canyoneering an experience to remember. We learned more in 4 hours in the advanced climbing than we have in months on climbing, reading and videos. An incredible guide, and company as a whole. If you're looking for that personalized, professional and knowledgeable outdoor experience, Moab Canyon Tours are your guys. I highly recommend and can't wait to head back to Moab and join them again for some tower climbing. Highly recommend!

We did this with our three kids, and it was INCREDIBLE. Our guide Chris was fantastic; we couldn't have asked for a better person! He was fun and patient, even with our anxious daughter. We had a blast! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Ask for Chris!

Recent rain water in the canyon was cold and refreshing

She was hilarious, incredibly knowledgeable, and kept us laughing all day with river guide stories and jokes. One of our favorite parts was when Molly pointed out a Padlé Oarefish. We'd never even heard of one before! She explained they're unusually flat fish, most commonly yellow with blue, red, or pink accents, and they're surprisingly well camouflaged along the river. Such a cool thing to learn! She also showed us a rock formation that looked exactly like Winnie the Pooh wearing a beret and breathing fire. Once you see it, you can't unsee it! The wildlife was unbelievable. We saw bighorn sheep, three otters, geese, blue herons (mud flamingos), a baby deer, a fox catching a fish, and a huge eagle nest. Molly said we're officially her lucky group because they usually only see a couple of those animals, and she'd never seen the deer or the fox on a trip before. Lunch was fantastic too! The "conewiches" were surprisingly delicious. We were a little hesitant because we'd never tried Mediterranean food before, but the homemade Mediterranean salad with feta and kettle chips folded into a tortilla absolutely rocked. I'm still wishing I had Molly's recipe! If you're thinking about rafting in Moab, book the Fisher Towers trip with Red River Adventures. If you get Molly as your guide, consider yourself lucky. You'll leave with great memories, sore cheeks from laughing, and probably a newfound appreciation for the rare and majestic Padlé Oarefish. Oh, and I t's officially Hank's Bubble Bath in our book. And it's dog friendly! At the trailhead, there is a small parking lot with a sign that tells visitors to come back later if the lot is full. We arrived just after 8am on a Sunday and found only 3 other cars there. The trail is very clearly marked so you know right where to go. Be sure to stop at the bathroom on your way up if needed. There is also a dog waste station to get poop bags, but you'll need to carry it out with you as there are no garbage cans along the way. The first few minutes of the hike are out in the open-lots of sun and no shade. But quickly you'll find yourself along the river with trees all around you. There is sandstone that you'll hike through-it can be a little slippery. A little further in you'll find that the trail crosses the river. Plan on getting wet even though there are rocks that you can walk across. Keep going and you'll end up at a beautiful waterfall and pool. I'm told there is another further on, but we turned around after this point. We will come back again and see what surprises await us beyond this point.

Moab was at the tail-end of our trip and we had just gone through a pretty taxing rental car issue when we arrived.. so needless to say we were seeking an escape. The town was really lovely, and we were looking forward to meeting with MDA for a climb up Looking Glass. We were introduced to Larry, the manager of operations and an accomplished adventure guide for the company. Larry was just a fantastic guy all around.. polite, funny, he kept us engaged through the whole experience, and even acted as tour guide for us so we could get a good sense of what Moab had to offer. Looking Glass itself was a phenomenal experience. I'm a first-time climber and my friend had some experience under her belt, but we are both in good shape and Larry briefed us on exactly what the demands were for the climb and what we were to expect. After a crash course in harnessing, belaying, and the ensuing climb, it didn't take us more than an hour to summit. Larry was a gem, helped us gather some great photos, and even took us along the scenic route back to show us different sites along the way. The experience was precisely what we were looking for, we wouldn't hesitate to book another tour with Larry again.
