I did the rock of ages canyoneering trip, it was by far one of the coolest things I've ever done. I went by myself and there was another couple that went as well. Andrew was our guide and he was awesome, he let us go at our own pace and made sure we were ok, offering a hand in tricker spots. He always made sure we felt safe ( or as safe as one could feel on top of a 180 foot drop lol). The only minor criticism I would have is that in the description it says "easy" scrambling and i think that it's more on the difficult side, we all managed to do it no problem but if you've never scrambled before it might throw you for a loop. But all in all I had a blast, definitely worth every penny. read more

Full-Day Rock Climbing and Rim to River - Amazing trips. The full-day rock climbing was excellent. I'm a beginner climber and Mary made me feel very comfortable and taught me some great skills needed for outdoor climbing. For the Rim to River trip, the rappelling is absolutely beautiful, great way to go to the hike, lunch was delicious and rafting was very fun and memorable. The guides at Red River are very knowledgable, patient, and most of all fun! Had a great time, would recommend it and will use them again. read more

Our experience doing the full day rafting trip was overall enjoyable, although not what we were expecting. The entire staff was friendly, approachable, and entertaining. They all really seemed to enjoy each other which contributed to the general feel of the trip. The meeting time was 8:15 and we didn't load in the busses until 9:15, the ride to the launch was about 45 minutes so we didn't get started until after 10. We really enjoyed our guide Emily. She was very informative and enjoyable and went above and beyond to make sure we were having a good time. The lunch was great, they served build your own wraps with all fresh ingredients, hummus and carrots, and other snacks. The ride itself was more like floating down a river than white water rafting. This was the only aspect that we were a little disappointed by but this is obviously not the company's fault. If you're looking for something a little more adventurous, I might recommend doing the kayak or paddle boarding. read more

We did the full day trip and I'm so glad we decided to -- would highly recommend the full day as there is much more to the trip than the half-day. The full day was a 12 mile trip down the Colorado river and included 2 stops - one stop for bathroom and refill on water, and the other for lunch (make-your-own sandwich wraps, chips, PB&J, carrots, hummus, and some cookies). Our guide was amazing and made us feel at ease and provided great information regarding local history and local ecology. He let us have a lot of fun on the raft, allowing us to play a few games, jump off the raft into the water, and even let us flip the raft (so much fun!). Would do it all over again! read more

What a fabulous day on the Colorado River. We took our 12, 10, and 7 year old daughters along with nieces and grandparents on the full day trip. Our guide, Cody, was fun, patient, funny, and so relaxed! The rapids were 2 and 3, we lost one passenger on the class 3 but she got right back in no problem. All 11 of us (ages 7-69) had a blast. Unbelievable scenery, great guides, and challenging yet doable rapids. One of the most fun days we've ever had as a family. read more

I've been rafting with Red River Adventures for 4 years now and have been on 6-7 trips down the Colorado. The staff is very experienced and knowledgeable. There are a lot of rafting companies to choose from in Moab, but I keep going back to Red River for the following reasons: 1. They float the river in small rafts. You get a better and more real rafting experience in a smaller raft. Some companies go down the river in huge, hulking super-rafts and the people look so bored! Small rafts allow the rafters to help out - YOU are doing the paddling, maneuvering, and swimming, not the guide. (The guides tell you exactly what to do and is steering the raft all the time.) 2. Because of the smaller rafts, you have smaller groups (up to 6-7 per raft). It's the perfect amount of people. 3. Their lunch spread on the Fisher Towers run is DELICIOUS! They bring sandwich stuff with quality ingredients. Lunch is set up and taken down quickly and efficiently. 4. The staff is friendly. They joke and have fun but also can provide lots of facts and information about the area. They are very competent in safety training and have always made me feel very safe floating the river. 5. I'm not sure of the other prices around town, but I feel Red River Adventures has very decent pricing for what you get (at least on the Fisher Towers run). They even offer a return customer discount. My wife and I did the morning glory canyoneering trip. Our tour guide was Tiffany, she was excellent!! She was very knowledgeable of the area including the rock formations, plants, river and many other things. She was extremely professional throughout the trip and my wife and I felt very safe while doing the rappelling. If you are looking for a relaxing raft trip down the Colorado in Moab this is the place. The river was pretty calm with a few welcome bumps along the way. There was lots of opportunities to swim around the rafts and a very laid back approach. This seems like a great beginning raft trip for the family. The lunch provided by Red River was satisfying. I did the full day Fisher Towers trip on a weekend trip to Moab and had a blast. The rapids were not too intense, but that made for a very relaxing trip with some absolutely stunning views of the Moab desert. I had very limited experience rafting, which was no problem on this trip, and our guide Cody made the Class I rapids about as exciting as they could be (going over rocks backwards, etc.). As others have pointed out, you can spend a good portion of the trip floating/swimming down the river which was a nice surprise. read more

I've been white water rafting all over the world and was thrilled with my family's experience with Red River Adventures. While most of the other outfitters based in Moab use the 10-20 person rafts (sometimes you go down without a paddle) this crew uses the 6 person +guide rafts. You get so much more out of the rafting experience if you actually have to paddle and pay attention! We did the 2 day Fisher Towers trip with our 9 and 12 year old daughters and then the next day did the half day Canyoneering trip. All the guides were courteous, very experienced and serious about everyone's safety. All too often I encounter guides that are more interested in showing off what cool things THEY can do rather than encourage you to try new things. They were goofy and cool and full of fun facts about the area and, when appropriate, they turned on the serious side to coach my kids down a steep rappel or how to chimney. We would definitely return to Moab and book with Red River again and again. read more

Red River Adventures was super easy to communicate logistics with and setting up the Indian Creek rock climbing trip was a breeze. Mary and Cadi were the best pair of guides I could've hoped for. The duo provided an extremely inclusive and educational yet fun and relaxing atmosphere for such a high risk sport. I still don't quite know how they accomplished that but they really have something special. I enjoyed spending time with them as much as I did jamming my way up the most beautiful and iconic sandstone cracks in Indian Creek. read more

The raft trip was great!!! We did the 8:15 to 2:30. On the boat our guide showed the mountains and the wildlife we saw a coyote, big horned sheep, blue herons, and deer. The mountains ere amazing in the morning and the wildlife. At 12:00 we had lunch and then had cookies. After that we went rafting. I would suggest Tiffany as your guide if you have kids. She was amazing! She was teaching our kids about the mountains and the river. I suggest you take the 8:15 to 2:30 trip, which is the all day trip. read more

Fun trip!! Jesse, our guide, made our day! He kept us safe and entertained the whole time. We went through a variety of rapids ranging from class I to III, while getting to jump in and swim alongside the raft during the calm parts. We did the full day trip, which included yummy food and more "fun time" than the half day trip--definitely recommend the full day! If you're looking for nonstop, raging rapids that will inevitably flip your raft, look elsewhere. Otherwise, this is a great company to go with! They cater to each group, so make sure you vocalize the type of experience you'd like. We requested the "scariest and most fun rapids available," hence our nickname, "Crazy Boat," given to us by Jesse. Only thing is...we wish we had brought some beer (which is allowed)...it would have been nice to sip on a cold beverage during the long stretches of calm waters. My wife and I are in our 60's, not experienced rafters, but wanted to try a Colorado River raft trip. We took a full day rafting trip, with Adam as our guide. Carl, the owner, was friendly and flexible as we made arrangements -- the 2 day trip we wanted was cancelled due to lack of booking, but he made it easy to find an alternative. Adam (and the other employees) were competent and highly skilled. That's what you would expect. But it was a lot better than that. Adam was great at leading the group, assessing our skill level and abilities, keeping everything fun and moving along. He was a fount of knowledge about the river, the geology, the Moab area, and a lot more. He answered every question we threw at him, even laughed at our jokes, and had a few good ones himself. ("When you're rafting, you might tip over, but you can never overtip.") Needless to say, we tried to. He pushed our abilities a little, made sure we got wet and had some thrills, and the day was over all too soon. Much thanks, guys! Highly recommended, and we would definitely do it again. read more
