I've never been river rafting before & world wide gave me an amazing first time experience. I'm already planning my next trip!! We set out on Wednesday for 4 days & 3 nights with a group of 15! Our guides, Tommy & Zak we're so much fun & such incredible cooks! We ate so well. And they were so knowledgeable about Ancient Indian facts, rocks & geography. They really did it all. Sleeping arrangements were awesome-- cots under the stars or tents. There were optional hikes (easy hikes). The rapids were amazing & our drivers were so skilled & knowledgeable. It's hard to really encapsulate what a big river tour company is all about, in a single review. It's also hard when they do so many things, and your experience can vary day to day depending on weather, your guide, your equipment, and even the previous winter's snowpack. My own experience was for the Fisher Towers trip, which is a more tame experience and not so much about the whitewater adventure. There are some rapids areas, but nothing that's going to buck you from the boat, except in the early season when the flow is high. This trip is also really popular with youth groups, including Boy Scouts and church groups. Again, it depends on the day and season, but be aware that it may not be a small and intimate tour you go on with you and a few pals. Ask ahead about group sizes and see what they can do. I went down the river with a few hundred people on several rafts and inflatable kayaks. The guides in all our boars were mostly young men and women in their early 20s and they bring a really fun energy to the table. They also have a fun way with the youth groups and were good at keeping people safe, keeping them on the rules, but letting them have a little fun. One of my favorite parts about river trips is bailing out of the boat and just floating downstream with my life jacket. They weren't so much fans of this and don't really like you out of the boat at all, so that was a little bit of a bummer. I understand the safety issues and wouldn't underestimate the river, but there are long sections of flat water that would have been perfect to take the sizzle off of the hot Moab day. We pulled off for a big lunch and even though it was simple--lunch meat sandwiches, fruit, chips, and cookies--it was really good. I was bummed that after all the talk of "clean up this beach!" we scooted out of there without every bit being as clean as it could have been. It was an honest effort, but I think five more minutes and higher expectations from the guides are totally reasonable, especially when you get a massive group going through there. It wasn't trashed, but there were still bits of orange peel and chips strewn about and my river-lovin' fingers couldn't grab them all before my proverbial ship was setting sail. A few tips: leave your crap in your car. It's locked safely in their lot. Take off your watch, your rings, and don't take anything with you that you can't lose or ruin in water. Second, and probably most important: sunblock. Bring it. Use it. Use it often. Use it on the top of your knees, your ears, and the back of your hands. I learned this many years ago on my first river trip and haven't forgotten. Some people didn't listen to me. Some people got sunburned on all those areas. Definitely a positive experience. Again, it's so hard to cover it all because surely they do smaller trips on whiter water, and the day is what you make of it. Best to give them a call and talk it over some with them beforehand so you know what to expect and how to prepare. Family and I chose the day trip with the World Wild River Expeditions. The company is great and the guides (Carmon & Shipley) are awesome. This is a family-run business and it shows. The entire team is personal and fun while being professional and well organized. Lunch was a well-organized too and plentiful (sandwich buffet and OREOs). In addition to the boat, they also brought along inflatable kayaks for all of us to play on. When you sign in, they have you drop your keys in a box so that you don't loose them in the river. :-) They do offer dry bags to keep things dry if you insist on bringing personal items with you. The water was low on the day we went, but that's mother nature's fault. We would do it again. There could be no reason to look elsewhere. read more

We brought a group of just under 30 to do the 3 day Fisher's Tower trip. It was excellent. It was not a ton of rapids but it was an amazing trip for our group. The staff were excellent to interact with and made the trip better than expected. For the price, and the experience you can't beat it. The food with great and they took care of everything. We went on a 5-day river rafting trip in Cataract Canyon this summer with World Wide River Expeditions and had a BLAST!!! This trip was seriously one of the best experiences I have ever had! We spent the first two days just relaxing on the river. It was all smooth water so we did a lot of swimming, chatting, reading, and goofing around. The guide was full of stories, history, geology, and even a little guitar playing! We stopped a couple of times for a hike and to see some indian petroglyps. THE FOOD WAS AWESOMELY YUMMY!!!! On the third day, we hit the whitewater. HOLY FREAK! It was intense! The river was at "High Water" so the rapids were humongous! It was crazy non-stop fun! I have no idea how our guide manged to keep the raft upright and pointed straight while we flew through the air off the top of the monster waves! After the big whitewater sections we hit lake powell and they tied all of the rafts in our group together to the "RIG", a great big long raft with a motor, and we cruised through the lake powell canyon to the take out ramp. An airplane flight back to Moab is included in the trip and we got to fly back over the river that we had just rafted. It was really neat to see it from the air. The perfect ending to a perfect trip! I would do it all again in a heartbeat! World Wide is located off of the main street in Moab and their prices were a lot lower than the other river running operations we looked at. The people at the base were super friendly and helpful. Even the owner Nicki was there and totally involved in making sure everything went super smooth. Our guide has been running this stretch of river for more than 25 years and the company has been around since 1970 so we felt totally safe in their hands. We took a group of 15 (9 youth, 5 adults) with World Wide for a full day on the Colorado. We had one raft and 3 kayaks. Our guide was knowledgeable and helpful. It was a very good day on the river. Tips Lots of sunscreen, and reapply every 2 hours or so. Don't bring anything you can't get wet or loose. As everything is going to get wet. Do get in the river it is very nice on a hot day. The Good Staff was helpful and friendly. Gear was in good condition. Lunch was provided and they do an excellent job of keeping their lunch spot clean. Lots of fun playing around in the water as we went down river. The office staff helped us with refunds for people who couldn't make the trip last minute. The Meh The full day wasn't the most exciting rafting trip. It was a lot of fun but not too many rapids. read more

I came last weekend with a group of about 40. We had an 8am meet up time at their in-town office and WWE was well prepared to receive our large group at that time. They guided us through the waiver process, offered us dry bags, life vests and had us all loaded into their school bus by 8:30. Seriously. 40 people in and out in 30 minutes. Very quick and efficient. It's about a 30-40 minute ride to the drop off point along BEAUTIFUL desert scenery; a tame winding river with red rock formations in the backdrop. Highway 128 Colorado River is one of the most highly rated scenic drives in the country. I think the bus ride may have been one of my favorite parts of the outing. The Moab river rafting itself is a fun outdoor activity if you've never done it before. It's a good introduction to the sport if the idea of it gives you any anxiety, safe enough for small children and you really can't beat the views, but otherwise is nothing to really write home about. There are a few Class 1 "rapids" and maybe a Class 1.5 but IMO it would be better classified as a river float. If you're a thrill seeker, you'd be better off saving your dollars for Idaho river rafting. We paid $50 a person for about 6 hours door to door, maybe 2.5 hours on the river. That could be the group rate but I'm not sure since I didn't organize it. Not incredibly cheap but it doesn't break the bank. TIP: Sunscreen is your friend, my friends. read more

Our kids enjoyed jumping off the boat and paddling the rapids. The owners of the company were easy going and friendly. Just spent three amazing days on the Cataract Canyon trip. The guides were really fun, hard working, knowledgable and professional. We always felt safe on the river (even in a really big water year) and well taken care of. The meals were top notch and there was cold water/lemonade available all day long. They took us on a few really fun short hikes where we saw some Native American artifacts, and walking up a side creek to a spectacular water fall. We were with a large group n this trip and I can't wait to come back with my family. We would definitely recommend this family run company. They are more reasonably priced than other companies but this doesn't mean you will get a lesser experience. read more

We did this as a package with our atving with High Point Hummer (recommend). This trip -- the half day Fisher's Tower trip -- was slightly underwhelming. The place told us it was going to be an 11am-4pm tour. We boarded at 11:15 am, rafted for about 15 mins and then stopped for an hour long lunch. Finally after re-entering the river, we rafted for another hour and then finished at 2 pm. For me it wasn't a huge deal because we had paid a lower price as part of the package, but also because after being in the boat for 1.5 hours I was ready to be done anyway. However, if you booked this expecting a five hour trip, I could understand being upset. read more

My son and I went on a 4-day family rafting trip with his school a few days ago to and through Cataract Canyon. There were about 60 of us and they divided us into two groups, each with our own boats and guides. They provided each of us with a large dry bag that held a sleeping bag and tarp (which they also provided) as well as our own duffel bag of clothing etc. Those were tied onto the boats during the day, and for things we needed to access we had small dry bags to keep with us. They really were completely waterproof. Because the water was so low, we spent most of the first few days motoring through calm waters, with the boats tied together into flotillas. The guides provided awnings and umbrellas to shade us as much as possible, and there was plenty of lemonade and water on board plus water bottles for those who needed one or a second. We camped on beaches, ate delicious meals prepared by the guides, and jumped into the water a couple times to float with the current for a while in our life jackets and get picked up by the boats downstream. Cots were provided to keep us up off the sand while we slept, and tents were available but hardly anyone used them as there were very few bugs to speak of. Changing clothes meant going behind a bush or using the cabana tent if it was set up. Bathing meant using biodegradable soap in the river. "Taking care of business" had its own setup, as comfortable and private as possible. We stopped twice to hike, once for just a short way to some ancient granaries built into the cliffs, where the guides explained who built them and how they used them. The second hike was harder, 3/4 mile straight up, across a gap, and 3/4 mile straight down, while the boats went around and met us on the other side. I am fat and out of shape, and the guide bringing up the rear, whose name I have unfortunately forgotten, was very kind and encouraging to me when I fell behind and had a hard time continuing, both up and down. I made it thanks to his help. At the end of the second day we got to go down a rapid before hitting the beach where we camped that night. Then on day 3 we went down 30+ rapids, the lucky/willing ones paddling red rafts with a guide steering and instructing, and the others just enjoying the ride on yellow rafts with a guide rowing us through. I felt completely safe with our guides and had a great time getting soaked. All along the way, the guides pointed out interesting things to see and shared history and personal stories with us. They made sure we were all safe, especially the kids, requiring life jackets whenever we were more than waist deep. They also set good examples for our kids. Our church girls camp used WWRE, and we couldn't have been happier! The scenery was beautiful and rafting/kayaking was so fun, but the guides were what really made this trip so amazing! They were positive, friendly, hard-working and experienced. I was so impressed with their ability to remember names in such a large group (100+) and make it a fun experience by playing games, singing songs and giving us interesting facts and stories along the river. Their safety training was great and they constantly reminded us to reapply sunscreen and provided cold water and lemonade refills so we stayed hydrated. They prepared our meals and we were well fed. On July 6, 2016 a group of us came up from Glendale to experience the wonderful energy of Moab, Utah. Included on our list was to fulfill a lifetime dream of river rafting down the Colorado River. We were greeted by Jace, Dana and Derek who helped us load our gear onto the bus with eager anticipation. The trio could not have been more hospitable and made it a point to get to know each person individually when time permitted. They were diligent and professional dealing with the needs of multiple personalities that ventured up from the big city to experience this small town wonder. We took a three day trip down Cataract Canyon and we were told not to bring any food. I was worried initially but I could not have been more impressed with their menu options including a hearty surf and turf on the final night. We had a variety of dietary needs and they catered to them brilliantly. The side hikes throughout our journey were remarkable as we discovered ancient canneries at every turn. It's a lot of work to haul around a bunch of city folk but they did it with style. I speak for the entire Glendale Community Group when I say that we shall return next summer. read more

My teenage daughters and I took a three day rafting trip on the Colorado, through Cataract Canyons, this summer with World Wide River Expeditions. We enjoyed the experience immensely. Loved the scenery and the river experience, and the guides (Dana and Andrew) were great. Because World Wide's prices are lower than other outfitters, I thought they would skimp on meals, but the food was great. We went through the cataracts during low water season in August, so it wasn't the most challenging white water, but I knew to expect this ahead of time. read more
