We booked Sun outdoors for a tent site with no idea how it would be, and I'm so happy we did. The bathroom facilities were extremely clean with hot water, the site was well marked with a grill and picnic table, and the view was great for a decent price. Our cabin was clean and included a bbq pit and the swamp cooler made the 100* weather bearable when we weren't out hiking. The bathrooms where is clean as can be expected considering that they are located in a desert they where cleaned daily as I noticed. What a top notch campground! At check in we were greeted by the most pleasant young lady who bent over backwards to ensure we had the best experience possible. Campground is located right off the highway and easily accessible. You are close to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. WiFi is a bonus! All the campers were respectful. Military friendly. Well... this is not a good place to stay for so many reasons. Mostly it's very hard to get access the highway to go to the NP. Hard to maneuver your RV in the spaces. Spaces are very close together. Lots of people noise mostly from those living there.. long residents. ROAD NOISE! ATV/motorcycle NOISE. Pool closed, no camp fires, spas all gone ripped out. Basically run down. Slickrock campground is clean and has a lot of options for different kinds of campsites. You can pick from tent sites, cabins, or RV spots with full hook-ups and cable. The store located near the office had a lot of merchandise for any kind of emergency from first-aid to bug spray or snack food. The wi-fi was free. It wasn't amazing internet connection but it was better than some I had used at other places. The downside to this place was that the campsites are small. You are very close to other campers. Our site's picnic table was probably like 2 ft away from the other picnic table. In addition, the bathroom stalls had very short doors that did not make me feel comfortable. The pool was also not working and there was no advance notice for this. While not the fault of the campground, there were also a ton of mosquitos. read more

Dirty, dusty, ridiculously and needlessly overcrowded sites that are overseen by an inflexible and apathetic staff who hide behind their mantra of "that's our policy". The nightly rates are ridiculously high and unjustified, plus they have the arrogance to levy a 25% upcharge on holiday weekends when this dump is at it's worst. I would have slept on the highway in my car instead, but they already had my money and wouldn't even discuss a refund after I arrived and saw how bad the place was. The only reason to stay here? Awesome facility with clean bathrooms and awesome showers with hot water. For tent camping it's only $20 per night compare goose island campground with only just toilet. Slick Rock has hot running water and clean toilet with electrical outlets in the bathrooms. Jim and Jill are awesome and very friendly and hospitable. read more

When I made reservations for 8 nights, the rates listed on their website was $47 per night. When I conformed the reservations the rate jumped to $57 per night. When I asked why, I was told that it was their prime time of the year and the rates increased. Nothing was said about this on their web sight. The toilets/showers were the filthiest I have ever seen in a campground. After 4 days I asked them to clean the toilets and showers and was told that they were short help. After 6 days the toilets were finally half-assed cleaned. We felt like sardines cramped into crowed sites, and the tables were not even painted, just raw wood, COVERED WITH BIRD DROPPINGS. MY RATING OF THIS CAMPGROUND WOULD BE A MINUS 10. THE WORST THAT I HAVE EVER BEEN IN. I WOULD NOT EVEN VENTURE INTO THE POOL OR HOT TUBES DO TO THE FILTHINESS OF THE ENTIRE AREA. 457 read more

A good enough place to crash and park your RV while visiting the national parks if your expectations are low. It's very rustic to put it politely. All dirt in the whole campground and the bathrooms were very old and dilapidated. We also rented a cabin (#14) which featured torn mini blinds that really disturbed our teenage girls staying there. The ancient swamp cooler worked well but was pretty gross and hopefully bacteria free. On a positive note, the are many mature trees in the campground that added some needed shade. This place has a lot of potential and could rate higher if some much needed TLC was applied. But as is, deserves the two stars I am giving. read more

We love this place! After reading the reviews I was nervous about our 9 day stay here. Once we pulled in all my fears went away! This place is great. The grounds are very clean and so are the bathrooms. It was nice and quiet and located between Arches National Park and Moab. We road our bikes in for groceries and checking out the town. After our hikes in the parks we soaked in the hot tubs. They are small but it sure was a great way to relax and get ready for bed. The staff was very helpful and were very knowledgable about the area. I like that we could get in when we wanted to and hope they aren't to full for our return! Is definitely the worst campground I have ever stayed at. We made a reservation and staying here because there are no other places available. We have a payloader working the construction site next door running in front and back constantly. The dirt site we are on has been ground to fine powder. This campground should be closed until they can call it useable. No comment on camper next to us being 36" away- we new that from online reviews. Can't give a minus star or we would. We will never stay here again- even when site is finished. read more

Big Rigs beware! Well honestly anyone with a newer RV or TT. This place is crammed and packed in like sardines! The neighbors slide out was inches from our awning! And their hookups were in our way, at one point the sewer was literally at our doorstep until we repositioned the trailer as best we could. Absolutely no privacy whatsoever. It's all gravel with little shade and on a hot day, it's absolutely miserable. When we were there the pool was under construction, so we couldn't even go cool off. I would have given it a 1 star but their laundry room made up for the extra star. While the loads were expensive at $2.50 a machine, they did have quite a bit so doing laundry wasn't a waiting game. Oh and the views, it was very pretty being situated between the red rocks, but I will never stay at this campground again. read more

The staff were great. That's why this review has 2 stars instead of 0. We had to change our reservation weekend and they assisted with no extra charge (the new dates were still 2 months away so there was plenty of time). Check-in was easy and the girl at the front desk was welcoming and helpful. The other guests knocked down this review by two stars. It seemed like every guest we encountered was unruly, inconsiderate, loud, and neglecting their young children/pets. It made the place a zoo. The facilities of the campground knocked down another star. While somewhat clean, our tent-only campsite was absolutely cramped. Our tent was two feet away from our car (which is a Subaru Forester, so it's not humongous) which was two feet away from the picnic table, which was two feet away from the grill! And next to us were several more tent-only sites that were the same size. We could hear every conversation, baby cry, tent zip, and fork scrape around us. There was no privacy, shade, or space. Bathroom - usable. That's all I can say. Bottom line: if you are looking for a non-tent site and can sleep through anything, this place works. If you are looking for a tent site, look elsewhere or save up another few months and get a hotel. read more

Overall I am happy to be in this camp ground compared to more "manicured " ones. It has a rustic feel but the full hookups worked well. We were in 108 & 109 but only after our original site had an issue with an encroaching neighbor taking up more than a bit of our site. I am very happy management was able to get us moved to other spots and they worked out better in the long run (out of the way of camp traffic and less road noise). The laundry facilities were clean and all of the equipment worked well. Some staff was friendly and some were a bit gruff. Two big though. The pool wasn't working. It's not ADA compliant and they were shut down. If someone is coming just to hang in the campground and swim they will be very upset. The 2nd is that there is a full-timers area directly behind where our spots were. There was regular foot traffic from there THROUGH OTHER PEOPLES CAMPSITES to the restroom and shower. Standard etiquette means don't do that! One old guy was particularly creepy. We had teenage girls and I didn't get a good feeling about him. However, there wasn't a lot of noise from that area so that's a plus. All of that being said, I would stay there again, which is why I still gave it 4 stars. read more

Cabins are very out of date, the lights flicker all the time. I'm pretty sure mice are living under the cabins. Every day I woke up with bites all over my chest and legs, from fleas. I used the laundry room and water was dripping from the ceiling and don't even get me started on the wifi...I could only use it near the front office. Sorry guys I won't be back. read more

This was a mixed bag. The staff was was nice and the location is convenient. The cabins are a little dated and could use an update. The bathrooms were hit and miss. Some days they were clean, some days they were really bad. Same goes for the rest of the campground. Some days the trash was taken care of and some days it was overflowing and blowing around the camp. Beforehand were needed to modify the dates for our stay. We tried calling multiple times and were not able to get ahold of anyone. We emailed them and got an almost immediate response and had the dates resolved in a couple of emails within an hour. Our group was spread across multiple campgrounds so we got to see some other options for our next trip. Slickrock Campground is the cheapest in the area, but I think this is definitely one of those cases where you get what you pay for. Would I stay here again, probably if some of the other options were full. Unfortunately this isn't my first choice when returning to Moab. read more

We had a great time! All the facilities were good and worked as expected. Checkin was quick and they were quite helpful. They have four or five rescue cats on the property which was fun. It was car show weekend so it was really busy but I really don't have any complaints. The branches were a little tricky to dodge but that's about it. Also the sites are barely slanted, but it didn't bother us. Since this was the first time we've stayed in an RV park maybe our expectations aren't right but we enjoyed our stay. My wife expected the bathrooms to be a lot worse based on the reviews. But they definitely beat our cramped RV bathroom. read more

If you can't get a site inside the park, this is a good choice as they seem to have availability all the time (I'm basing that on the fact that we were there 4th of July week and had no problem securing a site, they're listings were basically empty when we arrived in the afternoon and slowly filled in as the evening went on). We had a decent little tent site, it was very near the road but that didn't turn out to be a problem as traffic on the road out of Zion after dark is pretty minimal. If you're in Zion hiking all day long, make sure you pick up any food you might want in Springdale, there is NOTHING out this side of the park. The campground store has a little pizza shop in it that advertised pizza and sandwiches, but we could never catch them open. We even asked one day and she said she'd be open until 10, but thank goodness we picked up food because there was no sign of anyone in the restaurant area when we returned around 7. Not sure what was up with that? Side note on food - The grocery store in Springdale (Sol Foods) had a FABULOUS salad and soup bar that we made huge filling salads at each night to take back to the campground with us. They also had sandwiches and prepared hot foods - very nice selection. The bathroom and shower facilities were decent, although everyone was washing their dishes in the bathroom sinks - gross!! Why isn't there an area designated for this?? Also, there were 2 huge garbage bins right outside the bathroom building that were overflowing and incredibly stinky. The tent areas did not have water but there were empty RV sites were we filled up our bottles before leaving each day. read more

Great campground in town just off the highway. Currently under construction, but great overall experience. The bathrooms were brand new and IMMACULATE. Our campsite came with a large weather/shade tent permanent that our tent fit under. Amazing views of the surrounding cliffs and geological formations. Overall campsite was well organized, maintained, and very well cleaned. The only issue we had was communicating with the camp hosts and paying for the site. However, in the end this all worked out, and this seemed to be a product of all he construction and changes currently taking place at the site. Great time overall! read more

A last resort only. Like the campground from National Lampoon's Vacation. At first, we were put in a campsite that had our tent, no joke, six inches from the bee and fly-infested dumpster. On top of that, there was one tiny picnic table that we were supposed to share with the next site! No room for our car, either. Same price as the other spots, mind you. Fortunately, the girls in the office were very sweet and let us move to another site. In fact, I give those girls five stars. The joint was also packed to the brim with rowdy people and the first night there was a brawl near us. Cops came and folks were arrested. And let's not talk about the bathrooms. Wanted to stay at Canyonlands RV park. they were full. Person suggested Slickrock a sister park. We stayed 3 nights July 8-11. It was hot, pool was nice and cool. Rest of campground under construction. Too much dirt mixed with gravel and very dusty. Very night sites. Person who suggested Slickrock never mentioned anything about construction. Just over $63 a night after taxes. Way over priced for the park condition. Once completed, may be nice?? Will not be back and would not recommend. Edgar M. read more

I simply do not understand the bad reviews of this great campground. First to give major appreciation KUDOS to Morgan and Taylor in the office, SO HELPFUL SO NICE AND ACCOMODATING. The campgrounds is one of the few here in Moab with BIG GORGEOUS TREES and though tight fit, it is very accessible sites for your TOYS and screen rooms to be on your site with your set up. Here you are minutes fromso extreme activities to do, Arches. Canyonlands and the amazingly great down town district. The grounds are very clean, we watched the fellows sweeping dirt off road way as people left their sites and cleaning up the area all morning, great playground under shade trees and a fenced dog play walk area. Showers WERE CLEAN not new but defiantly very clean. I highly recommend Slickrock Campground and get off your high horse expectations..you are here to ENJOY MOAB AND ENJOY IT FROM,HERE YOU WILL!! Place is great. I stayed for three nights in the tent area. Camp spots are close but most places like this are. The bathrooms are really nice! Spacious showers and bathroom stalls, even has an AC unit in the bathroom. All the tent spots are shaded either with a large tree or a covering. Worst site I've ever had, and I've stayed at hundreds of rv parks. The sites to beware of are the sites behind the cabins. They are the narrowest sites ever. It was so unlevel that our furnace wouldn't turn on. And the electric plug-in was so far towards the front of the site that my 25ft cord couldn't reach it. With my slide out our camper was less than 3ft away from our neighbor. I'm shocked that they would design spots so horribly. read more

After reading previous reviews about bad construction area I was worried. I called and they assured me that it was minimal where we were staying. We got there and it was less then minimal and you couldnt hear anything during the time we were there. We stayed 4 nights. Now I will have to say that sharing the same picnic area with your neighbor is not ideal especially during covid. We were just lucky enough that we had great neighbors. That probably needs to change. Not sure how to politely explained how bad this campground is. We had reservations for several months in advance, there were 3 of us arriving at separate times and in different days. When the first of our party arrived they couldn't find the reservations, even though they had the email conformation to show them in the office. They then informed our party that they had raised the rates of the park by $10 dollars a night, they would not honor any discounts (AAA, AARP, military, ect...), however, they would honor the original prices we reserved under. As of this review the website still shows the incorrect prices. Or friends were given a spot and told to come back to the office the following day to speak to the manager about the correct site from the reservations. The following day the manager did find the correct reservations and reminded them about the price increase and the favor they were doing for them by not charging them the new prices. We arrive a day later and got into our spot right away although we were also reminded of the favor they were providing by also not charging us the new rates. When the 3rd member of our party arrived they did not receive the same favorable treatment as we had with the old original reservation pricing. As before the manager was out and would return the following day and they would need to see her if they wanted corrected cost. She was in fact there the next day and they too received the favor of the gracious manager and got a partial refund for their stay. Some of non-reservation and billing issues with the park are, dirty pool, not cleaned the week we were there. We didn't even look in the hot tubs. The bathroom/shower houses were relatively clean but need some TLC and some repairs. The spots themselves are set up so you pull the trailers in opposite directions and share a common space. This works good if you are camping with friends but can be awkward if you are having breakfast at the picnic table with some random people from next door. Some of the spots have been covered with crushed rock others are just the red dirt, no grass or open areas. There is a sign at the office stating if you have a noise complaint you need to call Moab City Police to address your complaints, and a sign as you pull into the park staying no camp fires due to the insurance restrictions and the over $100 dollar fine if you do light a campfire. With the near 20% increase in the space per night cost maybe the park will start to come around, or maybe the owners will just take nicer vacations more often. Oh they do have very mature trees creating alot of shade. So a plus for them. read more

I have never checked into a place that had a different price upon checking in. we booked a few weeks in advance paid a deposit have a receipt telling us what our balance due is yet when we pulled in we found that we owed double than what the receipt said the balance was due because it was a so called blackout week. in my opinion at the time of booking online the price reflected should be the price when we checked in. Not sure it's even legal to change the price of lodging if a deposit has been made. read more

This campground is the worst. Booked ahead arrived with confirmation in hand and were told the confirmed price was not valid. We were charged an additional $60 not given the confirmed spots that we originally chose and fought the bugs on our picnic table and everything else in our RV spot. The office personnel showed us the sign that basically said we don't care after scraping the 40 pound cat off of the counter in the office where their "policy" was stated and taped to the counter. This was the only campground with sites available. I was extremely nervous about giving this place a shot but honestly this place is not as bad as the reviews seem. The facilities are decent and have plenty of stalls and showers. The sites are a bit small but it's not much of a bother. We haven't hit the pool or hot tub so can't speak on that but the staff is very friendly. read more
