This shop IS the best in town. Believe me I have worked in automotive since the mid 70s and did my fair share of wrenching on my vehicles. When I moved to Mesa in 2009 I tried several shops recommended by coworkers. Then I found Sun Devil Auto. This shop has been able to repair every type of issue I have thrown at them from 1960s vintage to current. They have not once oversold me on any repairs. They have been thoughtful to break down my options from what is absolutely necessary for safety option, to a "well if it was me" option or in one case after finding out my 1960s vehicle was never driven in the winter and the cost to locate the part and have to pull the old dash to replace, which they said they could do, it became a "I wouldn't waste my money" option. I really appreciate the honesty. They have gone out of their way to locate or in some cases make parts or repair in creative ways components that are no longer commercially available. In one case they made an entire emergency cable assembly, they made a special electrical cable, repaired a fuse box, switches I could go on. I have taken in 8 different vehicles, I have owned, and they have always met their quoted price and time. The exception of being late happened once when the dealership delivered the wrong part twice in one day. Sun Devil even covered the total cost of repairs when a repair warranty company I had purchased a plan from refused to cover my transmission repair. It 100% should have been covered by the warranty. Wow. They have worked with me to get a ride to work/home and to get a vehicle into their shop.if needed. The stand behind all their work. They have talented mechanics. Very impressed. My car would not start when leaving work. I called 5 shops around 5 pm that gave a week to look at vehicle, I called sun devil and Bob answered. Friendly, up-beat attitude, and empathetic. I already had roadside service coming to town my vehicle, and he said if was there before close would take a look or first thing in morning. I couldn't have been more relieved. Next morning I got a call with breakdown, price and patience to wait on my decision. I went down to shop and Bob brought me back to my car and physically showed me the issue, explained issue and repairs. No up-sell, no pressure, and I felt informed. I had to gather funds and Bob was patient and empathetic on financial strain this may cause. I was able to come through with funds and gave green light on repairs. Bob noticed my battery was from AutoZone and stated may have warranty on it. It did, and Bob brought battery there and did whole swap out and warranty exchange! This saved me 200$. Repairs done following day. I went and got my emissions test and passed. Car is running great and couldn't be more satisfied. I have a VW and a lot of shops are clueless on VW. The most irresponsible service providers!!! They sent an email with address of the Chandler Location (895 E Chandler Blvd) but with a phone number of their Tempe location ((480) 372-2792). So after having called and confirming the appointment for an oil change - when I visit their store the Service Advisor says I am not able to locate your appointment in out system!!! When I show him the email, he simply has to say it is from out Tempe scheduling office , and you should have called our number 480- 726-1960. This guy doesn't even bother to read the email properly and says look I don't want to argue but you should have called the number at the bottom of the email...but dude!!!!.....Give me a break!!!! The entire email has mention of only Tempe location phone number so how am I supposed to call you guys!!!!! One of his colleague shows up, looks through the email and he only has to say - "this is weird"!!!!! They live upto their name --DEVIL !!!! The rowdy confusion creating trouble makers !!!!! I stopped in today to the Sun Devil Auto location on Power to get an oil change, choosing them after reading good reviews on Yelp. My 2015 Honda Accord has about 60,000 miles on it and the brakes have never been changed and just starting to squeak, so I asked them to go ahead and check those and replace if necessary, expecting I was going to be spending a lot of money today. They told me they would call me after they take a look at it and give me an estimate. I was promptly called within 45 minutes, and the service manager Mike told me that the brakes still had half their life left and my fluids were crystal clear. They could have easily taken me for several hundred dollars today and I wouldn't have even flinched, but they were honest and only performed the oil change I asked for. Now I will be bringing my future business over to them. The waiting room was clean, they seemed organized and on the ball, and most importantly, they didn't charge me for unnecessary service when I literally gave the carte blance to. read more

Great service! Took my 2005 Toyota Tacoma in for the 60,000 mile service. Was quoted a price of $272.00 which was less than the dealership.Got a call stating that the water pump was leaking and I also had a rack and pinion steering leak. At first I thought, oh boy, here we go. But, I knew the mechanic was right and not trying to gouge me because I could see the pink engine coolant on my garage floor as well as the rack and pinion fluid. So, these were not made up repairs to get more money. They were legitimate repairs that I needed to take care of. Did I want to hear that, no, but in the end I am glad I had them done. My ten year old Tacoma runs beautifully now and the price of the repairs was worth the inner peace. I took advantage of their "no interest, same as cash plan" so I can easily pay off the bill in one year. The assistant manager, Eric and the manager, Anthony, were very cordial and especially helpful in answering all my questions. I would recommend Sun Devil Auto to all my friends. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR/TRUCK HERE. These guys are CROOKS!! I brought them my truck, I knew exactly what the problem was and how much it was going to be to fix it (from previous estiments) and they not only marked up the job (new water pump and oil change) by 40%!!!! BUT they also tried to tell me I needs to replace other parts that I JUST MADE DONE!! At first I thought they were joking, but he looked my straight in the eye and told me he would recommend even driving it until I got everything fixed. I have never seen someone lair so directly to my face, I feel sorry for anyone who is takes their car here. My car was a 2023 Santa Fe Sport Hyundai with 173K miles. One day it just stopped on the 60 on the way home., it eventually started and we night dropped it on a friday for the team to check it out. The.next morning they called to tell me there was only 1 qt of oil in the pan, with tiny metal fleckings. Now most places would see this as an opportunity to make some money (like the guys accross the street) but was quite the opposite, not only did they save me a few ounces of the oil they had printed out a 22 page document for me listing a Hyundai issue with that engine. In the end because they were honest people I took the car to Hyundai and they did replace the engine for free. We will take our 3 vehicles to the N Power road shop as long as we, and they are around! read more

Just had the oil changed in a 4 cylinder motor. $115. Inexcusable. Their reason was the trouble in the middle east. $60 for oil. That's $12 a gallon for oil. I call it gouging and if they blame the trouble in Iran is war profiteering. Which is illegal. The oul can be purchased at any store for $16 a gallon. I find this kind of activity un-American. Let's gouge all we can while we can to make profit. I'm an American served in the military and this despicable raping of the working class is the reason for our troubles. I was on a quick trip to Arizona from California visiting my family when suddenly my car broke down. I was only in town for a day and needed my car fixed quickly. EVERY SINGLE PERSON at Sun Devil Auto was so kind and helpful!! From the second I made the phone call to see if I could get my car in the same day, to the day I picked it up, the people were amazing!! Not to mention they got my car fixed on the same day! PLEASE COME TO THIS AUTO SERVICE!! Last month I had an oil change done, and today my oil light came on. I took my car in today thinking they didn't change my oil. It turns out it was my lack of "Know-How" with cars and my oil wasn't reset to 100%. Scott the manager personally looked into it and helped me. He even added oil to my already almost full oil tank and checked the filter again. I was treated with respect and the best customer service around!! And to top it off he gave me 2 free oil changes.
