Of course I had to stop at a coffee shop in Texas. Went here in April for a quick pick me up. I couldn't figure out what I wanted so I had to look at their menu online. I finally found what I was looking for. They had a lavender drink so it's a must for me ( I always look for this flavor first). I ordered the iced blue moon latte. My mom ordered their hot chocolate drink. Overall, we enjoyed what we ordered. Service here was nice and friendly.

Iced Oatmilk Latte with 1/4 Moonmilk - Delicious! Moonmilk is just sweet cream for the record. It was really yummy. Wild Berry Poptart - also delicious! The sweetness was a little overwhelming, but good if you're in the mood for that/half a bitter drink. The ambiance of the cafe is really nice. The service was good! They got busy and forgot my poptart which was a rip.

I ordered a moon milk latte per the workers suggestion and it was so good! I was thankful for their advice and found my drink to be delicious. I did come to work as they have several tables inside however it was packed given it was a Sunday so it was a bit to loud to work. Definitely recommend for a good coffee drink.

Austin is a melting pot of cultures, ideas, interests and tastes thus it would be fair some of these sentiments spill over to the outlying communities. So, when I meandered on mainstreet in Buda I saw a familiar friend, Summermoon coffee. While parking can sometimes be a challenge, I've never had to park more than 50 yards from their wonderful establishment. Walking up to the facility from the quaint street view one's eyes are drawn to the simplistic and rustic building adorned by the frugal plastic seating outside. It's a warm vibe, something the mind's eye paints when thinking of a lazy day at a coffee shop. The inside is a mishmash of furniture dark for most of the tones in the tables, floors, while the seating is a plethora of seats and the walls are white and turquois; all anchored and rightfully so by the ordering counter. The kitchen area buzzes with barista's flying around, grinding beans to make coffee to order. There are things other than coffee to order. Swag like Summermoon shirts, bags, and get this coffee mugs! Another option are pastries and more specifically the homemade pop tarts. Trust me when I say, get a mixed berry pop tart, you'll thank me later. It bursts with flavor, the crust is flaky and every bite is better than the last. Also try the kombucha as a side treat. To those who are uninitiated it's a very healthy fermented and effervescent tea which can be either sour or tart, depending on how you taste beverages with various flavors being available. My favorite happens to be the basil honey ginger. But lets get on to the star of the show, coffee, shall we? Summermoon is different in that they roast their beans with a wood fire and believe me you can really taste it, especially when the closer to black you get it. I will say I'm not a cold coffee drinker as when coffee is cold, I'm not drinking it. So, I have a mental block but when it's hot I'm in heaven. My first suggestion is the "quarter" mocha moon latte. The quarter represents the "moon milk" that's added which is wonderful but, again I like my coffee on the darker side. The flavors are deep you can almost be whisked away to sitting by a fire sipping a good cup of Jo with hints of chocolate. The moon milk offers a nice sweetener while the dairy rounds out the flavor. My next favorite is the Summer Moon Latte, their signature latte. It's very smooth and while not having the complex flavor profile as the mocha, it stands out by being a lot more even experience. Summermoon offers a locally owned and operated experience which is second to none. What is key to note that when you visit them, you're not supporting some company in the north west, but your neighbors whom you might run into on occasion. Also the staff at all locations are friendly and warm as I spend time talking with anyone who looks bored (yes I'm a chatter). But more than anything when you visit Summermoon, you're getting a great cup of coffee that surpasses other options.

Cute little shop in the heart of buda. The staff was friendly and helpful, and our coffee was made quick. Lots of drink options, and they have merchandise such as insulated cups, clothing, mugs, etc... that were super cute! Our coffee tasted good as well. :) overall good experience

I ordered the Summer Moon w/soy milk and OMG it was delicious. Tasted like melted ice cream or birthday cake. Was not sweet or bitter at all. I would definitely come back and try out their other coffees on the menu. Although, I wish they had a better system as to where the cashier would call out "next in line" - with that being said, my friends and I thought wow what a line when we entered and we were standing behind other customers thinking they were about to order but NO they were in line waiting for their drinks (haha). Oh well.

Moon milk moves meeeee!! Love the old-town Buda location, quite pretty! Takes a minute to ask questions if you're not yet inducted into the moon milk ratio options, but tasty coffee & tea options abound! Will be back!

You can see the bakers hard at work making everything fresh from scratch. I look at the display case of goodies and know I'll be leaving with more than I came on for. I look over the menu and order the croissant breakfast sandwich with sausage and 3 Danishes (cheese, blueberry, and strawberry). When they call my name, I pick up the order and find a seat in the neighboring spot which sell coffee, tea, and other drinks (see separate review for Meridian). The croissant breakfast sandwich comes with a scrambled egg, sliced link sausage and a green salsa that has a nice heat to it. The croissant itself it nicely toasted and just crumbles in your mouth as you take your first bite. The sandwich is hearty and will fill you up. When I get back home, I try the blueberry Danish and it's as good as it looks. Flaky crust with a great blueberry center filling. If you're ever in Buda, you should come and try the Teal House.

I have to say this was some of the best shrimp and grits I've had. The portion was perfect, not too heavy on the grits and plenty of gravy, perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked jumbo shrimp. The bathrooms are just spectacular here. I was greeted, seated, and waited on by a charming worker. Predictably, I ordered the Denver omelette because it's my go-to breakfast anytime it's available. It came out hot, complete, and with a beautiful presentation. The bell peppers were not as tasty as I'd hoped but the dynamite ham more than made up for it. The hash browns were okay but didn't really taste all that good. Not like the rest of the meal. The toast with butter and jam were top notch. I liked the substantial metal flatware and plates but wished the iced tea glasses could be larger. All in all it was just what I needed to face another day of work.

This place knows pancakes with four all the time specialty flavors (pineapple, strawberry, cinnamon…read moreroll and banana), one specialty (currently sticky toffee) and the basic buttermilk. While they claim to be a breakfast / brunch restaurant, all of the options I saw on the menu are breakfast options (no burgers, no salads, soups, sandwiches, etc ). So if you like endless variations on eggs and some creative pancakes / French toast this place is for you. If one or more in your party want something different, they may not feel very excited with the menu. They have quite an extensive menu beyond pancakes if that's not your thing. They have a specialty bacon that I really enjoyed with a stack of strawberry pancakes. The wife went with two eggs, two bacon, hashbrowns, substituted the sticky toffee pancake for the bread options. She thoroughly enjoyed the eggs, bacon and pancake. The hashbrowns were a bit of a miss. They tried to do something unique with the potatoes and they were not the right texture, being on the mushy side of things. Service was competent and prompt. The wife had decaf coffee and while it was quite good, our server could have been more attentive in keeping her cup full. The inside decor seemed unremarkable to me. With no partitions to speak of, it was louder than most places. On the positive side, it we clean, comfortable and well maintained. Definitely a place to return to when we are in the area looking for brunch.

We walked in, told the person at the front our name and were seated quickly. The restaurant is nice. It includes a little market in one section with various food items that you can purchase. Not long after being seated we were greeted by a waiter that did an excellent job taking care of us the entire time we were there. He took our drink order, gave us menus and some time to decide what we wanted. After a few minutes he brought us our waters and took our order. We ordered several items. El Olivo which is a garlic bread. It was okay. The bread was good. It was nice and warm and the garlic flavor was all on top. Whipped Feta which comes with grilled Naan and cucumber slices. The Naan was okay. It was a little cold and needed to be warmed up a little more for my liking but my kids ate it up. The cucumbers were fresh and crisp and the whipped feta was pretty good. It had a slight lemon flavor but not enough to where you could taste the lemon with every bite. Pork belly chicharron which had pork with avacado covered in a sauce. It came with tortilla chips. The tortilla chips were thick and crispy. Perfect for scooping up some of the pork belly. The pork belly was delicious. The sauce that covered it added flavor and the avacado was fresh. The Lamb chops came with Lamb, carrots and a puree. The lamb itself was excellent. It was cooked perfectly and was tender with each bite. The carrots were slightly sweet and the puree was soft. It was a good mix of different textures with each bite. The Truffle mac and cheese was a macaroni and cheese with chives and truffle flavor. This was very tasty. The macaroni was tender, the chives were spread out and added that slight onion flavor. The cheese was very flavorful. One of my kids ate almost all of this. Barbacoa Doughnuts which are mini doughnuts filled with barbacoa topped with a salsa. I don't really like barbacoa but I tried them and was pleasantly surprised. These were delicious. It was basically a soft and warm mini doughnut filled with flavorful barbacoa. The sauce on it added a slight spicy flavor. Patatas Bravas are potatoes with salsa and a garlic aioli sauce. These were very tasty. That salsa and aioli sauce are what gave this dish all of its yummy flavor. The potatoes had a crispy exterior with a soft interior. All of the ingredients mixed together made a very good side dish. One of my sons ordered the Dos Olivos Burger with Tater Tots. He said that the burger was okay. I tried it and I agreed. The tater tots were good. He ate those up with some ketchup. My other son ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwiches with everything on the side. He substituted a salad instead of the fries. He ate the salad up. He also ate the Fried chicken from the sandwich. He said it was good. He is not a fan of sesame seed bread so he opted not to eat the bun. I tried the red cabbage apple slaw that it comes with and it was okay. Lastly I ordered the Beet Salad which comes with beets, pears, and candied pecans. I don't usually eat beets but I wanted to try it. It was very good. The beet chunks were large and soft but not overly soft. The pears and the candied pecans added a crispier texture and the mixture of all of the ingredients along with the sauce that was on it made this a super sweet beet salad. Almost like a dessert. It was delicious. Overall the restaurant is a cool spot to visit. The market is a neat addition that adds to the ambiance of the restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was delicious.

It's not the kind of spot where you go for a full meal, but for a quick bite or a coffee break, it works just fine. The coffee was actually nice, smooth, not too bitter. I also ordered a sandwich, and that part didn't go as smoothly. They completely forgot about it, so my friend and I ended up sitting there for almost half an hour before we finally went inside to ask about it. Only after that did they bring it out. It wasn't a huge deal, but it definitely took away from the experience. Inside, though, the atmosphere wasn't quite my style. The interior is noticeably dark, and it felt a bit heavy, so I didn't feel like staying indoors for long. But the outdoor seating completely changed the experience. Outside it's much brighter and more welcoming, with a comfortable, relaxed vibe. If the weather is good, it's honestly a great spot to sit for a while, drink your coffee, and just slow down a bit.
