I went here about a week or so ago. I've been looking for some new dim sum spots and I'd been hearing good things about this place! No one was at the front to check in guests. My party of two and three other parties waited up front for nearly ten minutes before anyone came to check in on us. Once we were seated, we ordered a variety of dim sum dishes. I liked their red bean sesame balls a lot! Siu mai and rice noodles were OK. However, I felt that everything needed salt or seasoning, as it was all relatively bland. The soup dumplings were also chewy and doughy. Some of the food that we recieved was relatively cold. There was no soy sauce or chili oil on the tables, either. I had to ask multiple times for soy sauce throughout the meal. Ambiance and service were both OK as well. Nothing to write home about. I felt like every time I asked for anything (a box, the check, soy sauce) it was viewed as an inconvenience. Overall, I'd say this place missed the mark for me. read more

The food here is mediocre at best. The handmade soup pork dumplings came out dry and bland, lacking the flavorful broth you'd expect. The deep-fried mixed meat puff was tough and difficult to chew through. The steamed prawn rice roll had overly thick noodles paired with a watered-down sauce. On the plus side, the shiu mai and rice noodle rolls were solid. Service was the bigger issue. Despite the restaurant being far from full, staff seemed to wander aimlessly without ever making eye contact or checking if we needed drinks. We had to flag someone down three separate times, then waited nearly 30 minutes just to get our bill. With 5 people and 16 dim sum dishes ordered, not a single empty plate was cleared throughout the meal -- our table became a stack of dirty dishes, yet servers kept piling on new orders without any thought to whether we could actually reach the food. Until service improves significantly, I can't recommend this spot. read more

I will start this review by saying the food was quite good! A highlight was definitely the xiao long bao and siu mai. Plus, the restaurant looks very clean and classy! The service on the other hand was a big miss. For a restaurant who had a line out the door, it was ridiculous that there was only one poor older gentleman who was running out food to tables. What is even more ridiculous is as this older man is hauling huge trays and carts of dimsum around, the other employees were carrying a couple of drinks or tiny desserts to tables! We did the all you can eat dim sum, and for having a 90 minute time limit you'd expect your food to come out within those 90 minutes. That was not what happened. My party spent most of the 90 minutes waiting to see if our food was even coming. My party had not even received the full first selection of dishes we ordered within the first 45 minutes to an hour! We thought we had been saved when an employee came to our table to ask what we were waiting for, to only bring 1 of 4 items we asked for. At this point our time was up, and even trying to get checked out was frustrating. We'd grab an employee's attention to come to our table, but before they could reach us they would get sidetracked and eventually forget about us. Then we'd have to find another person to help us out, of the very few people running around the restaurant. Either needs more staff or more organization! read more

best and freshest lobster in town, they can cook it in many different style, and the host is super accommodating. I love this place, I have been coming here to eat lobster once a month and never disappointed. Their customer service is world class. I love the foods and the service. read more

First time here and it was ok. The food was ok, I've had better dim sum and service from Dim Sum Factory in Factoria. The service could use some work, we didn't get any introduction and or instructions on the buffet area and the iPad at our table wasn't working so we couldn't order anything if we wanted to. Overall I would not make the drive out for mid dim sum. read more

Not busy on a Sunday is not a good sign. Took a look at the menu and they were sold out of their popular items. Selection seemed a bit small. Food came out cold and some of the items were not great. Taste did not seem fresh. Service was terrible. Asked waited for soy sauce and it seemed like I was a hassle. Asked for the box and check and the waiter seemed to acknowledge but didn't come back. Had to ask someone else. read more

A AYCE Dim Sum that should be renamed to Shumai and friends because that is the main dish I only saw maybe 5 other dishes. The service are none existing, I've asked for a knife and napkins at least every 10 to 15 mins and never got one. They will make sure to bring you tea and soda ‍ it was also very fun to see the cart servers get surrounded because it's just one person doing the deliveries every 5 mins. If you're sitting way in the back then you ain't getting food lol. So unless you're going to pick from à la carte, don't bother with this mid level Dim Sum of an experience. You'll be waiting for hours just to be writing a horrible review. Save yourself the $28 and the parking horror of this place and go somewhere else. Unless you love Shumai like me then it's worth it for the one and done experience. read more

The food was absolutely delicious! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. The dim sum was excellent, especially the baked custard buns. The staff were friendly and attentive, and they even gave us complimentary custard buns and milk tea, which was a very nice surprise. Great service and great food. Highly recommend, and I will definitely come back! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was warm and elegant. read more

Very good experience. I like it very much much because I am native Cantonese. It really resembles what I had in my hometown!

Really beautiful restaurant!! I love the ambiance. Get the bear milk tea. The lemon one is good too. The family and I ordered the honey walnut prawn, 1/2 duck, fried geoduck, sashimi geoduck and beef stir fry. All was delicious. Very fresh and great quality. Service was good as well. read more

We were visiting from California, family took us to try this renamed restaurant. We came here before under the old name for dinner. We were not impressed then, and the dim sum was even worse. Tasted like production of "central kitchen " - food was prepared at a central kitchen - even worse - bought from frozen in mass production, and reheated. Beef chow fun was sub par in taste and "wok chi". The stand out is the ambiance. read more

Came here with seafood we bought from the market -- sesame shrimp, Dungeness crab, coral shrimp, razor clams, and clams -- and the restaurant did an amazing job preparing everything. Every dish was flavorful and cooked exactly the way we wanted. Special thanks to our server CK. She was extremely patient and attentive, remembered all the different preparation requests for each item, and communicated carefully with the kitchen to make sure everything came out right. The service was friendly, professional, and made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place worth coming back to. read more

We went there for a normal dim sum. It turned that they have changed the à la cart to buffet style which is disastrous. The food cart only had certain repetitive food, not much selection, but you have 90min for your seating. On top of that, food cart was pushed out like every 10-15 min so every time the cart was out, everyone rushed to take plates from there. We sat near the front of the restaurant and by the time the cart made out to us, there is no selection, nor much food left. Then there are the central buffet for fried rice, noodles and some ribs which were barely kept warm. Sad to see a decent dim sum place went down like this. Absolutely not going there based on today's experience. read more

Very good food. Steamed fish in authentic method. Also very service, waiter and waitress are nice and kind.

The place was decorated high end- luxury. However, service was not great. In the beginning, it was ok. The server came around. For condiments like chili sauce, soy sauce etc. they only brought out very tiny bit. I came during lunch time 11am. It took awhile for the foods to come out. Don't order the swan. It looks nice but I had no idea what I ate. It tasted weird. My mom didn't feel wanting to eat anymore after she ate the swan. read more

I would have said 3.5 if Yelp would have let me. Unfortunately after Sun Sui Wah departed, the food has moved toward average with some surprising flavors turning up in some of the Dim Sum. The wait staff is great however and the restaurant ambiance is nice in general. If you are nearby and need your dim sum fix, go for it but I would not call this a destination restaurant. There is better Dim Sum to be had. read more

never had a chance to try sun sui wah but i guess they rebranded to sum yee kae lol! we arrived on saturday afternoon not expecting a long wait, but there were about 25 other parties ahead of us and an hour wait. we went somewhere else and then came here when our table was ready. to be honest it was just alright, and i was expecting more. the duck pastry swans were super nice and flaky, while tender on the inside; definitely my favorite dish. for me, the chinese broccoli could have been cooked a bit more, and the sauce could have been thicker. it was really oily so the flavor didn't stick well to the leaves. i like that you can just order on their tablet for ease. overall nothing super standout, i wasn't wowed by any of the dishes. read more

Went on a Thursday @1130a. Wait 75mins to be seated. Asked for tea received it no cups. Asked for cups. Told they didn't have any despite tables were being set with them. Saw people with take out containers. Retrieved them myself (like I did the tea cups). When waitress saw that we were packing leftovers she told us we couldn't take them and called over another staff to tell us the same thing. We told them we saw others doing the same thing they insisted we couldn't take them. We asked for the check and there was a $15 charge for "excess". The menu says you'll be charged $15 a pound for excess. We had leftovers (2 shumai, 1 custard bun). I questioned the charge and was told we had "excess". I refused to pay. She took it off the bill then questioned me about a tip. Poor service does not get a tip. We were not the only ones to complain. While we were eating two other tables were complained loudly about service and charges. The food is good considering. But not good enough to return for the worse service I've experienced from any restaurant. read more

The service was terrible we had to wait over an hour just to get seated. Once we got seated we ordered our food but it took over 30 minutes to even receive one single dish. We didn't get all the items we wanted they told us some of the items we ordered was sold out once it was already placed. They didn't check on us the whole entire time not even to clear our table. The lady in the glasses was really rude had attitude the entire time, and once we checked out we didn't tip because of the horrible service she asked why we didn't tip and we said the service was terrible she js walked away and rolled her eyes at us. read more

In the space previously occupied by the dreadful Sun Sui Wah restaurant. After a single visit for dim sum, I would say both food and service are better. They are having a "soft opening," and are offering several specials during January and February. Give them a try; bet you'll like them. read more

We went for the Peking duck. It was quite busy and a bit disorganized as we were given another table's order a few times. We also ordered a dim sum dish as well which ended up arriving much later after the duck. I realized we were not offered the two course set for the Peking duck once we were done with the dish and am a little disappointed by that. We placed a few dim sum items to-go orders which also took a long time to process and was disorganized as well as multiple servers were servicing all the tables. Overall the flavor was good but service seemed lacking, with some grace that it was a busy service. I am unsure if I would come back considering we had an average experience for a specialty main course dish. read more

Delicious. We went for a special occasion, and were really happy we chose this restaurant. Remarkable flavors, loved everything we tried. Service was also very helpful. Note that one orders at the table, from a tablet screen, not from the little carts that some dim sum places use. Had an absolutely great dinner here with my family who came from out of town. The atmosphere was great and the staff was so kind/friendly and not to mention the food was TOP NOTCH. Our family splurged on the king crab (3 ways) and we did not regret it one bit. Dim sum was average and competitively priced. The deep fried crispy daikon cake is a standout. Service seemed hectic as the restaurant was full. The logistics of this place are bordering on failing. We ordered ~15 items, got one shrimp ball order and the second and third ones we ordered came ~45min and 55min after the first after chasing them down. Ordered tea service, never got any. Had to chase them down for hot sauce, they brought one small condiment plate (with no utensil to share) for a party of six. Chased them down for soy sauce and more hot sauce. We were charged $3 for chilies. Had to chase them down for a missing fish dumpling and a second milk tea we had ordered. Had to carefully manage the bill and explain that we did not get several items. It was an almost two hour experience that really should have taken one. Even with the billing stress, I found the lack of sauce to start and the small offerings of sauce the most frustrating. The haw gow and milk tea were good, everything else was meh. The chow mein seemed undercooked and the rice rolls were thick and didn't have the smooth delicate bite that is so characteristic of rice rolls. The menu is way smaller than Sun suh wah and the tablet ordering/logistics of the new place are shockingly bad. Actually hard to think about this place without getting sad bc everyone is clearly working hard but nevertheless the service wasn't there. read more

Dinner was absolutely delicious! The overall experience was wonderful~ I highly recommend the Beef Chow Fun and the BBQ Pork (Char Siu); they were both fantastic. The Beef Chow Fun was perfectly stir-fried and so flavorful, the BBQ pork was incredibly well-marinated, and the portion sizes were very generous! The service was also spot on--the staff was super friendly, making the entire dining experience really pleasant. It's definitely a place I want to visit again~ I will for sure be returning next time!
