Lemon ice tea

Great service! Love the bear ice tea. Come early to find parking. Rice rolls are fresh.

Buffet only! * BBQ pork bun 2/5 * Soup dumplings 2/5 * Shoe-mai 2/5 * Egg rolls 2.5/5 * service 2/5 Extremely mediocre restaurant. Horrible parking and really long wait times. With the competition around it just doesn't make sense.

Honestly, this might be the worst dim sum I've ever had. I didn't even know this place was buffet-style dim sum until I got there. It was my first time seeing dim sum served this way, so I thought, okay... I'm already here, let's just give it a try. But wow... the food was really disappointing. Almost everything was cold, and the meat just didn't taste fresh. Dim sum is supposed to be hot and fresh, so eating cold dishes and meat that didn't taste fresh was honestly pretty unpleasant. I really wanted to give this place a chance, but after trying a few dishes, I just couldn't. Definitely not the dim sum experience I was hoping for. I wouldn't come back.

Absolutely horrible experience with the service, food, and wait time at AYCE. They simply cannot keep up with the number of customers. We were charged full price, yet each dim sum order took 20-30 minutes to arrive, and we were lucky if we received even one. We heard that some customers were able to preorder through the tablet, but our tablet was never turned on. We tried to use it, but it was locked with a password. We couldn't even find a server to help because there seemed to be only one server for about 40 customers. The one person at the front desk was handling check-ins, checkouts, and bussing tables. The restaurant was clearly severely understaffed. For the amount we paid, the experience was unacceptable. Regardless of party size, you'd be lucky to receive more than three rounds of dim sum. This was honestly one of the worst dim sum experiences I've ever had. The food, service, and wait times were all extremely disappointing.

We came here for Father's Day dinner and ordered the set menu. While the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, the overall experience didn't quite match the premium price. Service was noticeably slow throughout the meal. We had to ask for items multiple times, and in some cases ended up getting them ourselves. The food was decent, but nothing particularly memorable, especially considering the cost of the set menu. If you plan to dine here, I'd recommend ordering à la carte instead of the set menu. Unfortunately, the set menu wasn't worth the price, and it's not something I would order again.

We wanted to try a new dim sum spot, but unfortunately, this place was a huge disappointment. No one was at the reception area when we arrived, so we had to track down a waiter for a table. Actually the waiting saw us standing there but ignored us. Finally got seated. No one ask what drinks we wanted. Again ignored. We ordered through the tablet and asked for ice water, only to be told there was a $2 charge for tap water. Are they joking???? Is that for real. We ordered Jasmine tea instead, which was thankfully good. We ordered four dishes, but after waiting about 25 minutes, one dish was still missing. BTW each dish came out one by one nice and slow. We were told there was an issue with the printer and our order (clay pot rice) never went through. We reordered it and were told another 15 minutes. Even after waiting, it still wasn't ready, and the manager wasn't in on a Sunday. The waitress just said oh I'm sorry. I'll remove it from your bill. I told her it was our first and last time going there. At that point, we decided to leave. Poor service, poor organization, and an overall frustrating experience. Definitely do not recommend and will not be coming back.

Always long wait, no reservation available. Okay to join waitlist on YELPS. Food is average but customer services are not very impressive and need to be improved. Liked the Dum Sum. There were no self-served sauces at the table. We needed to call servers to bring sauces each time. They started kicking people out of the restaurant for half day closure. I was in the bathroom where there was a "man" knocked on my doors so loudly and aggressively. He wanted to kick me out of the bathroom to close their restaurant for half day closure. It was very unpleasant.

3.5/5 Looks like Sun Sui Wah rebranded into Sum Yee Kae. Not sure if it's a change of ownership and chefs, but I was glad that the interior wasn't changed and I spotted familiar friendly faces (waiters and waitresses) as I walked in Ordered a range of dim suns. Some were better than others. Overall met expectations. Really liked the congee, egg tarts. Thought the pork buns (dough was too thick), rice crepes (the bun dough was too thick for my personal preference, and I wish there was more filling/flavor), and duck (too fatty but nice flavor) could have been better. Nice vibe to come with a group. Expect wait and challenge with finding a parking spot on the weekends

We arrived on a Saturday at 12:20pm and waited an hour. -lotus wrapped sticky rice: small and meh. Flavored with soy and rice almost al dente. -chicken feet: large paw, tender, good flavor -Red bean purse: flaky, warm, flavorful. Would recommend. -steamed pork bun: fragrant bun, not a lot of filling. -rose scallop dumpling: like a shrimp dumpling with a scallop on top. It's good. -swan shaped duck pastry: must try. On the oily side from the duck. -daikon cake- not good. Cool, chewy feel from being stale. So much flour very little daikon. -sesame red bean ball: good. Our were very hot. The paste is sweet and smooth. -Dan Tat (egg custard cup): cold. Both if the pastry is soggy from sitting there. Sides were still flaky. The service was slow, it was painful to flag the down for refill of the tea pot. The restaurant look exactly the same as the last restaurant; Sun Sui Wah. They ran out of chairs and used metal folding chairs at some tables. Another underwhelming Bellevue Dim Sum place. They will go out of business soon. The good items here will get you in once but not likely worth coming twice.

Sum Yee Kae replaced Sun Sui Wah in the same location. The local owner remains the same, but the restaurant is no longer associated with the BC, Canada Sun Sui Wah. Sun Sui Wah was great when it was on point, but it could be inconsistent. First, Sum Yee Kae is still in soft opening, so it's not 100% where they want it to be yet. And it shows. Service is fine, though nothing special. There are now tablets and (optionally) a QR code for phone ordering, which helps make dim sum service a little faster. But they still miss things (we had to point out two items we did not receive while there this time, so we could get them). Food was good, sometimes better than Sun Sui Wah's similar item, sometimes not. And when it was a "not equal," it was not great. Some dumplings (here's looking at you, shumai) had skins that were far too thick, especially on the bottom. More than half of the variety of dumplings we tried seemed oversteamed. When they got it right, the food was outstanding, but that was only about 25% of what we ordered. We'll give Sum Yee Kae another chance in a month or so. Hopefully, they work out the rough spots during the soft opening by then.

When I was running my own restaurant, I often told my team: if a place has exceptional service but…read moremediocre food, it will still get good reviews; if the food is extraordinary but the service is terrible, it will inevitably get bad reviews. However, when both service and food exceed expectations, a restaurant becomes an industry benchmark. Service: The service here was truly, exceptionally outstanding. A friend brought me here today--he had only been to this restaurant once before--yet every single staff member remembered him, and even remembered what he had ordered last time! They were genuinely thrilled to see him return. The pacing of the dishes and the check-ins during the meal were both spot-on. Ambiance: A classic Cantonese restaurant atmosphere--full of character, dignified, and rich with Chinese design elements. The seating is comfortable, the restaurant is impeccably clean, and the management is clearly top-notch. Food: Great value for money, with very reasonable pricing. The fried rice was loaded with rich ingredients and seasoned to absolute perfection. The seafood tofu was mild in flavor and made with fresh ingredients--perfect for children. The green beans were fresh and had just the right level of spice. As one of China's Eight Great Culinary Traditions, Cantonese cuisine is defined by its freshness: fresh ingredients, vibrant flavors, and fresh execution. Preparing Cantonese food is far more trouble than people realize; because of the complex preparation, strict standards for ingredients, and a low yield rate, true quality is hard to achieve. Since this restaurant is run entirely by a team of Cantonese chefs, I believe it is ultimately their passion that drives their success.

We ordered shrimp rice roll, har gow, football, shrimp with eggplant, shrimp with bell pepper, spare rib, Xiao long bao, sautéed pea tips, chicken feet, meatballs, shrimp and chive dumplings, tripe, and mango pudding. I really liked the filling in the football, which contained ground pork and mushrooms, not so much the flour for the outer layer. I also liked the tripe, pea tips, and chicken feet. They were delectable. Other than that, it seemed a bit plain. I didn't really like the chili oil they used, it was more like a sambal. I'm glad we ended with the mango pudding for dessert. The mold for it was so cute. Hopefully next time I come here they change up the chili used.

The service is typical of dim sum restaurants; short staff, somewhat impolite, direct and pushy. Not ideal but consistent with an average level dim sum joint. The restaurant smells of a poorly cleaned and oily scent. Your olfactory sense gets numb to this after a few minutes. Lots of items came out cold; fried and baked items and the beef rice roll. The steamed items were barely warm. Made me think the food was cooked a while ago and they just grab food that is pre staged when people order it. The food quality was not as bad as dim sum at a all you can eat buffet but definitely bottom tier.

In the past we would order other dishes just for a little variety but not because they were delicious. That's no longer true. The menu is expanded. There's lots of choices besides the duck that are worth ordering. Well, worth is another question. Nothing is inexpensive. The cost of the duck, plus tax and tip might be enough for a meal at another restaurant! I lived in Beijing for most of the 1980s. During this time foreigners like me were still considered honored guests so I often was invited to eat 北京烤鸭。Roast duck. For most Chinese, eating this is a rare treat for special occasions. Baron's duck is as good as any I have eaten in Beijing. Unfortunately until yesterday it was the only good dish there. They must have a new chef. In addition to duck, we had 干炒牛河、wagu beef, sea bass and a shrimp dish. All excellent. The place was very busy. Lovely ambience, a bit different from many other Chinese restaurants, which appear to want to express that they want to put their money into the food, not the decor. Actually I believe the owner is not Chinese and most of the servers weren't either. Speaking of service, it was just okay. For the price you could expect more. The store is a little different now that Rooster & Rice has taken over some of the kitchen. In the ordering area, the left two kiosks are solely for Rooster & Rice, while the right three kiosks are for Xiao Chi Jie and Bento Bliss. The menu is drastically shortened, with all the Mila products and the Jianbing being removed. Honestly not a bad removal given how mediocre I thought they were. And surprisingly, pricing ($12.99) for the 5pc Sheng Jian Bao hasn't increased in the almost 2 years since my first visit. Their method of cook is traditional, bunching a large number of bao together with oil and water in an oversized and specialized pan just for this dish (with the required cover for steaming, of course). The quality remains the exact same as my first visit - good amount of fatty interior rendered aspic, strong umami and aromatic flavoring on the pork meatball filling, and a nice thin doughy skin. It's a very solid SJB, and probably the best that can be found in the Seattle metro.

Two or so years ago, I went here with my two foodie friends to have their pan-fried pork soup bao…read more(sheng jian bao or 生煎包) and a couple other dishes I can't remember, but I know we ended up loving the place a lot. Fast forward to today, and I came back with just one of them here on a Friday evening close to 6pm to have another go on their food. Since then, the menu has drastically decreased in options, and they're in close proximity to Rooster & Rice, a newer Hainanese chicken rice place. There was also some sort of potluck occurring around this time very close to both these businesses, so I'm not sure how much of their service was affected by this or if there was any affiliation. There's a lot of seating inside that isn't very well bussed or cleaned by anyone. Regardless, my friend and I were able to find seats for ourselves in their huge seating area after ordering their sheng jian bao, dan dan noodles and zha jiang noodles to split between the two of us: - Sheng jian bao: it looks like these were pan fried on just the bottom, then sprinkled with sesame seeds and green onions. Each bao retains its soup nicely but I didn't enjoy the outside texture, which was pretty hard in contrast to the chewy interior with the umami pork inside. - Zha jiang noodles: my friend's order. I had a couple bites from this and found it lacking in flavor. It was too sweet for either of our likings. - Dan dan noodles: there's a heavy nutty taste that is overpowering even the spice coming from these noodles, and I saw that to be true when finding a TON of crushed peanuts on top. The sauce itself was slightly more watery than it was creamy as well. I wasn't expecting a noodle soup for dan dan noodles, and this had nearly the same consistency as one. This was an okay experience by itself but pretty lackluster compared to my previous visit several years ago.
