They have amazing options of different types of delicious food. I usually only come here for the ahi loco moco. It's my absolute favorite plate lunch I have ever tried. Sugoi's spicy garlic chicken exceeded my expectation. The chicken was big and tender, yet crispy outside. The spicy garlic sauce is amazining....and they put just the right amount, not too little not too much. The mac salad was good too. The service is nice and fast, and they have big dining area with sani wipes on the tables! The AC wasn't one so it was bit stuffy but thank god it wasn't too hot. Went home and my credit alerted me that i was charged $18.28, which was regular priced and not what was listed on the menu. Food was ok, the chicken was soggy but the flavor was good, it also came with a hotdog and teri beef which were ok. With this experience I will probably not be back again and would not recommend. Haven't been around here for a while. Decided to stop here with my coworker for lunch last Friday. Place was clean and can get busy (parking issue, line). So it's recommended to place order in advance. Great service and they still take 10% off your total if you show your Hawaii Government Employer Association (HGEA) membership even with the value deal of the day. Anyway, I wanted to try the Korean Chicken but today's value was the Yakisoba with your choice of meat. I'll just come by next time for it. I decided to get the regular spicy garlic chicken plate and my coworker got the Korean fried chicken since he hardly comes here and doesn't venture out like me. Jk. My take of the regular spicy garlic chicken -Sauce is sweet and spicy (beware, have enough water or soda to cook your mouth but soo good) -Chicken was crispy, moist, made to order. Five pieces given on regular plate but they are huge. I think this might be better than Mitsuken's garlic chicken based on looks/quality wise. -Mac salad - has a good taste to it. Not very Mayo but right. Coming from a guy who hates Mac salad. -Portion is huge for a regular plate. Felt like sleeping after attempting to eat this during work. My coworker had the same critic about his korean chicken and will order again. Improvement Needed: Sauce can seep out of lunch plate if not carrying it right. Their garlic chicken is one of the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life, no kidding. The sweet and savory flavor makes you crave for a lot of rice! I ordered a large plate last time and I didn't get to finish it because it was so big! So if you're not a big eater, try ordering their mini plate. This restaurant is located in the same plaza as the Kapalama Satellite City Hall - on the opposite side. There is so much parking available here...either in the parking lot or on the street. For me, the food here is comfort food. The tempura batter reminds me of growing up - a little thicker than what most people are probably used to. I just enjoy their mahimahi!!! The fish is always moist and since I NEED tartar sauce with fried fish, I am super happy that this is provided as well as a slice of lemon. The garlic chicken here is yummy, the sauce a little ... just a little on the sweeter side... but oh so garlicky and always cooked through. If you don't know what to get, you can't go wrong with a garlic chicken plate. OR a bento - think of it as a sample platter. You can build your own - get an order of garlic chicken, and a serving of mahimahi along with teri beef and hotdog - if you don't like teri beef ask for just the hot dog or vice versa. We catered from Sugoi last year for my son's birthday party. The food was so good that we decided to cater from here again for his birthday party this year! We always order online from their website. It is easy to look at what you want with the prices listed. You can pay for it and then submit it. They just ask that you place the order at least 48 hours in advance. I ordered the 4 course menu both times. You have a choice between all their chicken dishes( e.g. katsu, mochiko, Korean, garlic), a noodle dish (e.g. yaki udon, yaki soba), a rice dish (maki sushi, white, or brown rice), and salad (toss or Mac). You can also add on additional items for an added cost per person. Then you pay per person. Note that they give a lot of food!!! I love their yaki udon personally and all their chickens are great! This time we ordered mochi as well and it was .75 per person. It was very yummy! We pick it up from their store and they are so kind! They helped me to my car because there's so many trays! Mahi/ garlic chicken bento Is served on a bed of rice with a hot dog sliced in half and ume. Since it's a combination bento the going price is $20.99!! The garlic chicken was delicious though, it had the perfect amount of flavor and I loved it. The Mahi was good also but it had a lot of breading. Had the breading not been so thick, it would have been excellent cuz the fish itself was awesome. Saturday's special, The Sugoi wrap, is a fried rice omelette with one choice of meat. Choices include Portuguese sausage, spam and Vienna sausage. The portion on this is huge so it's enough for 2 people. On Saturdays it's $11.99 which is 2 to 3 dollars cheaper then it normally is. Even with the discounted special, my cost for 2 items was $35! Like I said though if you don't mind sharing either dish could feed 2 people! It was a busy day filled with work, so I stopped in a little after 1230 to grab a quick lunch. The garlic chicken is my go to here, slightly sweet, crispy, garlicy, delicious. I hadn't ever tried the somen salad before, but it was a good value. Tons of noodles and topping, and your choice of chicken on the side.
