Gorgeous decor. Speedy service. Awful food. I got 2 cookies and paid a little under $8. Of course I did not expect the cookies to taste 1 week old. So expensive, stale, and tasteless.

This place is absolutely gorgeous! From the marble and giant circular chandeliers. The autumn inspired decor of blush colored flowers and pumpkins makes the cafe warm and comforting. I ordered the pumpkin latte and pie combo that was served in a medium size pumpkin. I opted for an iced latte since I wasn't sure how the hot latte would hold up in the pumpkin. 10/10 for looks! The slice of pumpkin was sweet and the crust was flakey. Other tables nearby ordered crepes and pasta that smelled delicious. I can't wait to see what the next seasonal decorations will be!

Located across the street from Chicagos art museum this was a great place to start the day. For breakfast I got their cookies and cream pancakes. They were super fluffy and sweet. I also got their marshmallow hot chocolate which was matched well for the cold weather. The service was quick and efficient but could work on being more welcoming to its guests. The interior design is classy and elegant for a cafe/brunch spot. Though it is pretty small so be prepared to wait awhile to get seated. Speaking of seating, it was crammed on the day we went. For a party of 3 we sat awkwardly on a table that should only accommodate 2 people. It was definitely an attempt to get us served rather than having to wait longer than we did but it did come at the cost of some comfort being taken from us and the people around us because our chairs were practically back to back and shoulder to shoulder. I think the only things that could use critiquing is the set up but besides that this is a good place to check out if you're in the city.

Sugary is definitely a super cute spot for a girls' brunch, with a fairytale-like atmosphere that makes it feel special. The decor and presentation of the food and drinks are beautiful, and it's a fun place to visit if you're looking for an aesthetic experience. What I Liked: Teas - Probably my favorite part! They had great flavors and were presented beautifully. Definitely worth trying. Fruit Bowl - The fruit was fresh and vibrant, which was nice. What Fell Short: Brunch Dishes - While the food looked adorable, it was honestly just okay. Nothing was bad, but nothing stood out either. It felt more about the vibe than the flavor. Final Thoughts: Very cute decor and aesthetic Perfect for photos & a girly brunch Food was underwhelming and didn't match the ambiance Would I come back? Maybe, but mainly for the vibe and tea, not the food. If you're looking for a pretty brunch spot, it's worth checking out, but if food is your priority, there are better options out there.

Great cafe! The sweets are delicious and the staff was very accommodating. Cookies and crepes were awesome as well.

The setting is very cute and tea party princess vibes. I love the chairs (cushioned) and the plates and honestly everything about the ambient. I didn't try a lot of the food, since I came here for a little snack. But I tried the pink hot chocolate which was delicious and beautifully presented, and the chocolate croissant. I liked both. The service was good! I would for sure come again if I lived here.

I found this cool spot when I needed some caffeine fix. It was a gorgeous 77°F outside with a nice breeze. The lady at the cashier greeted me as soon as she finished the customer in front of me. I quickly got a chai latte and sat outdoors under these cute Persian umbrellas. I loved the bustling atmosphere, people-watching, and taking in the sounds of the city. Out of nowhere, the Blue Angels showed up, zooming through the sky as they practiced their crazy maneuvers! It felt like the armageddon! But I just savored every moment, enjoying my fantastic latte.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Sugary Chicago, and quite frankly, it was an outstanding experience! The service was not just good, but incredibly warm and inviting, making me feel at home the moment I stepped through the door. The ambiance perfectly marries fanciness with a casual vibe, creating a really enjoyable atmosphere that is just right for a leisurely brunch. While I did not indulge in any of their food, I had a crème brûlée latte. And let me tell you, it was one of the best I have ever had! The flavors were so rich and delightful, you would have thought I was drinking a dessert in liquid form. Yes, Sugary Chicago is on the pricier side, but in this case, you really do get what you pay for: top-notch service and drinks that are almost too pretty to consume!

Social media post - Falling in Love Tower

Really disappointed in this place. I had very high expectations based on their social media of the quality of their service and food. They are known for their flavors of their lattes and brunch towers. Upon entering there wasn't a greeter and a waitress gave me a half- hearted hello. Upon sitting for some time I needed to wave for a waitress to come and take my order. From there, I ordered a churro latte served hot and the Falling in Love Tower (as I had seen the very same morning of my brunch experience). Received my latte.. tasted nothing like churros.. no cinnamon flavor just a cinnamon stick and the beverage was lukewarm. Sipped my latte while awaiting my tower only to be even more disappointed... the tower came.. not only did it not look like the pictures & videos they posted this morning, but it was missing key elements to make it worth the $45 price tag. I asked the waitress where were the missing items.. she quickly told me they aren't included. Thankfully, I had a menu and I pointed to where it was listed in the ingredients.. she reverted to her first statement and said she would check to see what happened. I waited several more minutes only for them to tell me they did not have the ingredient and that they could waive my drink.. or I could find something else to eat. I did try but the other towers.. that they are known for.. weren't available to order.. thus leaving me with nothing to order. So I paid for my latte and left, I had high hopes for this cute location. I was really hoping for a better experience. Adding pictures & inserting pictures of the social media posts from today as well. To show the difference of what was offered.

Amazing breakfast! Great service! Cute scenery! I will be back! Overall great experience!

    This is the salmon toast

For these prices I payed 27$ for a stale piece of toast with salmon and guacamole. The drink was grainy and the coffee was extremely burnt and not worth the 16$ at all and the waitress asked me to add the coffee to my late. The service was fine. Definitely a tourist trap. The waitress touched my food. There was no seasoning, or really anything that made this piece of toast special. This place is ABSOLUTELY a tourist trap. Beware!!!

    Mexican omelette and Chicago crêpe

Great food! I highly recommend the Chicago crêpe. I don't recommend the drink drinks, they're pretty much just milk, so don't waste your money. Highly recommend the Mexican omelette!

I've read the other reviews and I had a completely different experience. I also only ordered a latte and chocolate croissant and they both were delicious! I really love the atmosphere and decor- very cute and unique. The staff were friendly and very attentive. I went on a Thursday right before noon. I will definitely return again!

With a cozy locals vibe, there was a mix of young professionals on laptops and families starting the morning. The bright aesethics of Mexican heritage and decor celebrating local artists make the space inspiring and energizing. The coffee was great. I got the horchata latte, which tasted even better than I hoped. I also ordered a El Chavo Torta, a deceptively simple sandwich that was incredibly delicious. I don't know what they put in the bread or what magical place they bought the cheese from, but my mouth is watering just thinking about it. When I'm in Chicago again, La Malinche is on my list of must visit spots.

The staff were really welcoming, for an early morning. I got the hot chocolate. Honestly that's exactly what I needed that morning. It had that real Mexican chocolate taste. Thick, creamy, smooth and rich. The cinnamon came through warm but not too strong, plus a little extra on top that hit your nose before the first sip. Sweet and it almost had this slight earthy note too... hard to explain but good. It even had that little design on top, like the ones they do on cappuccinos. Didn't expect that but it was cool. I finished it slow. Didn't wanna rush it. Just sat there taking small sips and enjoying it while it was still hot.

Set in an old warehouse that is now an art gallery event space and restaurant nestled in an older warehouse district in Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago. Beautiful decor and laid out perfectly. The natural wood floors furniture ie tables chairs etc and iron work throughout sets the ambiance for old meets new. It works. The wide spacing between tables makes for a comfortable dining experience. So many folks come in to do their work and dine here. What a super addition to the neighborhood that less than a decade ago was essentially a street that was more a run down semi-truck alley. Great menu with neighborhood favorites leaning toward the old school Italian dishes. Sandwiches, soups, salads, and breakfasts just to name a few are all excellent. The pastries are insane and a must take home deal. I love the American Breakfast. Three eggs your way, thick diced America potatoes, thick cut bacon, and sourdough toast. Accompanied by what I believe to be home made jelly and for sure homemade gardiniera. Caruso's gardiniera actually. Diced into a relish unlike most standard gardiniera it's easier to eat with many dishes. Excellent flavor and just the right kick to it. FYI Dolce Arte also sells a to go line of homemade Caruso products from their gardiniera to past and past sauces and more. Yes, their coffee is really good too. Lavazza products I believe. The service is always on point. Casual but on point. Very friendly staff from diverse backgrounds. This is the place you bring people close to you, business lunches, meetings, formal ir informal, or like me, save it for myself as my own getaway spot. It's an artists dream and sets a positive time for any gathering.
