SugarSnap! did a neighborhood drop off last night and our cupcakes were delicious! We did a 6 flavor variety pack and only two are remaining a little over 12 hours later. We also did some frozen cookie dough for later and my family is excited for a convenient treat I'm the future. Beyond the treats, the SugarSnap! owner is very responsive and nice. The porch drop offs were so convenient and appreciated during this time when people aren't as comfortable with crowded restaurants, etc. read more

Red velvet was a tie with Oreo as a favorite. The cheesecake on a stick was also very cool and yummy. Yes, it was every bit of delicious as it sounds: a moist, decadent fudgey brownie with a thick coating of sweet and salty caramel on top. Sugarsnap! is better known for their cupcakes, which were proudly displayed under glass at their truck. The Lemon Coconut tempted my tastebuds, as well as the Oreo and the Red Velvet. Sound good? Wait, it gets even better! Sugarsnap! sells giant root beer floats and orange cream floats. Filled to the brim with frothy soda poured over rich scoops of vanilla, these make for a perfect hot weather treat. To be completely honest, I'm way more of a savory person than I am a sweets fan...but Sugarsnap just makes me forget about that fact altogether. I know it's summer, and yes, I'm well aware that it's warm outside, but I couldn't resist getting the pumpkin pie cupcake when it was presented and offered right before me. Let me just say...WOW. It 100% tastes just like the real thing. The icing on top was perfection and the cupcake itself was so moist and amazing. Sometimes you get a little too much sweetness on a cupcake (did I mention that I like savory foods?), but this pumpkin pie cupcake had just the perfect amount of spice that I was hoping for. I checked this little truck out at Cinci NOM-- and it was delicious. The owner was very helpful and friendly in helping me decide which cupcake to try-- I ended up going with the Oreo, but really I should have tried more than one flavor. The best part of the cupcake was that it wasn't too sweet but still extremely flavorful. The cupcake it self was moist, and the icing was the perfect texture and filled with oreo goodness. I normally don't eat half the icing because it is too sweet, but I just wanted more of this Sugarsnap icing. Now I have to go back to try a pumpkin cupcake. read more

Ive been a purveyor of the SugarSnap truck for a few years now and used to love everything they put out. Especially the wedding cake cupcake. Its perfect! My boyfriend loves the salted caramel brownie and I tried it and its just so so. I really can (and have) made better. Recently, we wet to a food truck rally at Jungle Jims and I got wedding cake cupcakes and sadly, theyre awful. Theyve added something to the icing now and its horrible. $9 down the drain because they were so bad I threw them away. The icing now has a black walnut flavoring in them. I cant confirm this is what theyve added but thats the impression I get from what I tasted. It could be something else but whatever it is, its horrible. I reached out to the business to let them know that there was an issue but no reply via email. So, doesnt look like we will be back to sugar snap anytime soon. read more

What a precious little truck! I had the pleasure of meeting Katy one of the owners of Sugarsnap this past weekend at the NIght Owl Market. I was surprised to see a dessert truck still there at 1:00 in the morning. But to my surprise this seemed to be where everyone was gravitating. So I decided to check it out. Katy greeted me at the window with a huge smile on her face and walked me through about a dozen options. I'm not a huge sweets person so this was a difficult choice for me. I ended up going with the Pumpkin Cupcake. I know what your thinking cupcakes are sweet! Not this one folks, it was sweet but not like cavity overload. This cupcake was the perfect flavor and texture combination. The outside of the cupcake was chilled pumpkin cake, the middle was a cool REAL pumpkin filling, and the top, oh GOD the top, was a delicious hand made cream cheese icing. It reminded me of a pumpkin roll. Something very near and dear to my heart. I remember being in the kitchen with my mother at age 4 rolling out the dough to make them. This was a deconstructed pumpkin roll in the sense that when you took a bite you were getting the topping, the filling, and the cake all in one. SO YUMMY and perfect for a hot summer night. I will definitely be stopping by Sugarsnap truck, or they will be stopping by me, very soon! read more

Such an adorable truck. I had the pleasure of trying some weeks during The City Flea. My mom had the sugar cookie and I had a honey bourbon cupcake. I could tell there was bourbon in the cake, but it didn't taste boozy, which I loved. The cookie was soft and moist. The Oreo cupcake I had was heavenly! I honestly think I can say it's the best I've had. The frosting makes it. It was so smooth and it tasted just like an Oreo. I don't even like frosting that much! Sugarsnap is the best!!! My daughter used the food truck for her wedding, and it was the best decision, Not only did it add a fun element to the evening, the cupcakes were to die for! Our favorites are the Pumpkin Pie and the Oreo, but they also had the Strawberry Champagne which was delicious. The Wedding Cake flavor wasn't as popular, because of the Almond extract. People either love it or hate it so I would probably recommend an alternate vanilla flavor for guests. Another favorite is the Salted Caramel Brownie, it's like a party in your mouth!! I love food trucks! I really do think that they're an amazing concept and I love the idea of trying to track down my favorite trucks. And I think Sugar Snap! makes that list. My husband and I tried them for the first time last night at NOM and fell in love. We decided to end our late-night dinner with a couple of cupcakes: pumpkin pie and red velvet. The red velvet cupcake was alright, but a little dry, however the pumpkin pie cupcake was to-die-for! A pumpkin spice cupcake with cream cheese icing and pumpkin puree on top.
