Meat Omelet with potatoes and a fresh biscuit (don't skip the biscuit!!)

We decided to pop into this cute small diner for breakfast. First time here. We were greeted and seated right away and Daphne our server immediately greeted us and took our drink order(this was quite different than the reviews I read on yelp. We ordered the chicken Sausage cheese grits and the biscuits /gravy and a meat filled omelet along with a spicy maple coffee. The grits bowl was a hearty serving and tasty. The fresh biscuits steal the show. It was warm soft in the center with a sweet crunchy outside! Daphne was super friendly and did a great job entertaining us with her delightful stories. We enjoyed our experience

Sugar grits in right off Beale in downtown Memphis. I chose this place as it was close to my hotel. Upon entering I was impressed with their lighting and overall ambiance of the restaurant. The food menu is what you would expect and they offer a lot of grits plates served with fish and other proteins. The food was tasty! Their biscuits are huge! Only reason for three stars was very slow service and automatic gratuity was added. I always tip above 20 percent but not being told it was included already caught me off guard.

Wound up here by accident but grateful for the change of plans. Several reviews mention the wait time and it may have been a little longer than one might like but the food was great, as was the service. We were hungry and over ordered. The biscuit board was a treat! The biscuits were delicious and seemed truly scratch made. Husband had the cinnamon roll stack AND French toast. It was a lot of food! He loved the cinnamon rolls and said French toast was good but rolls were better. We did leave with leftovers. I saw lots of grits being ordered and will try those next time. Worth a try. Be patient. The workers appear to be doing their bests.

Came to visit from Chicago and found this spot on Yelp! We arrived on Sunday morning about 10a and had no wait. Place looked ok and was clean. Ordered a few dishes and drinks. I only have it 3 stars because the food lacked flavor. The customer service was great! The male waiter was very nice and helpful. If I choose to go again I'll definitely make sure I order the cheese grits instead of the plain.

Stopped in to grab a bite. We waited 10-15 minutes, along with 2 other groups, to be seated. It was not crowded, but there was only one server. We weren't in a hurry, so it wasn't enough to make us leave as we really wanted to try the food. Once seated, we waited another 10 minutes just to get water. Our server was really nice and showed no signs of frustration or being overwhelmed, so this was a plus. I actually felt sorry for him. I ordered catfish and fries, and it arrived hot. The fish was good but could have stood to be a little more seasoned (personal preference). The fries were good, but I didn't really eat them because I like ranch dressing with my fries. The ranch was very thin and watery and was not tasty. I asked the server why it was this way and he said it was a house dressing. It wasn't a terrible experience, and I would be willing to give them another chance and perhaps try another dish that doesn't require ranch dressing.

Just Peachy

Everything was amazing. Started with the praline beignets. Then I got the Charleston cheddar (shrimp and grits). Amazing! My sister got the fish and grits which was also delicious. We both got the Just Peachy for our cocktails which was refreshing. Highly recommend!

Decided to stop by for an early Sunday breakfast. Was told it was a 20 min wait but got sat in about 10. Our server was new but she was really sweet. The menu had some good options. We decided to get the biscuits and gravy , omelette and chicken fried steak. Everything was good but we could've had more gravy on the biscuits and gravy and the chicken fried steak. The biscuits were reallly good. Very tasty and overall a good experience.

I would give this place negative stars if it was an option. The service is terrible not one server has any sense of urgency, we waited over 10 minutes to even be acknowledged, another 10 minutes to receive our drinks. The restaurant is disgusting your shoes stick to the floor when you're walking, I wouldn't feed the food to my dogs. The bacon was microwaved and near raw, the sausage was burnt, the grits were dry, the toast was served completely dry no butter and they don't bring any butter, jellies or jams for you. Hospital cafeteria food is better than what we were served not to mention the food we ordered did not match the menu. I wish I had went to the restroom before we ever sat down because I saw immediately 5 roaches in the floor. This restaurant needs to be shut down!!

Food was good actually great .. they were busy so service was a little crazy.. it took quite a while to get our food .. the atmosphere is awesome...

Biscuits and gravy. Waffle with blueberries.

Visited on a random Tuesday morning at 10 am. Disinterested waitress. Slow service. No ambiance when we got here. No music playing at first. Forgot part of our order. Food was basic. The biscuit was good. The waffle was limp. It looked like a slightly warmed up eggo waffle. Watered down soda.

I regret not recalling our bartenders name, but he was fantastic (management if you are reading this he was serving at 5:00 on Friday June 24th). I ordered and Old Fashioned and he asked what whiskey I would like, I asked what he suggested, "Jack Daniels Peabody Select, it is a single barrel." I took his selection. He proceeded to make my wife and I the perfect Old Fashioned, muddled cherries and oranges to release all the flavors, but not turn them into mush, a double shot pour of the Peabody Select and a splash of soda. Once served your drink, you look around and you are in an beautiful, iconic hotel that takes you back in time. A great place to have a cocktail, and what a great cocktail it is.

As a first time visitor to Memphis, I was expecting this to be one of the highlights of my trip and it most assuredly was not. We walked into the bar area and instead of being greeted, we were screamed at to take a seat and that if we did not take a seat, we had to leave. This directive appeared to be from a manager, who we later saw walking around the lobby area. We had only arrived moments earlier and were just getting settled. There was no sign so we were unaware of this. I'm baffled that this could not have been stated kindly. A "Welcome, please take a seat as there is no standing during this time and we will bring over a menu shortly" would have been perfect. Our server was awful. We ordered drinks and she immediately closed my tab, even though I had not requested that it be closed. I knew right then I was going to order another drink. I understood that it was busy, but it took almost 20 minutes to get a second cocktail and another 10-15 for my whiskey pour, both of which were ordered after the duck march and after the crowd had dissipated. I ordered my whiskey on the rocks, which I often do, but have never had it served with SO many. Way to water down this proprietary spirit collaboration between the establishment and Jack Daniel's, which I had been very excited to try, but left me disappointed. Our server barely checked in with us. Looking at the current health score, I am surprised that we did not get sick here. I am unsure why we were treated so badly. I am not poor nor do I look poor and even if I was, that is no excuse for bad service. The bar is open to non-guests of the hotel, so if it was because I was not staying at the hotel that was a choice I made because I typically do not stay in hotels, with bath/shower combos, especially ones that were recently redone, so as much as I wanted to stay here that was an nonstarter. It is highly unlikely that I would ever consider returning in any capacity, despite wanting to try the spa, the bakery, and other restaurant and retail amenities in this hotel. It is shameful to have had such a déclassé experience in such an elegant establishment.

I've heard amazing things about this place but never thought to physically go so I made myself go. First off the building is mazing, I love the murals on the sides of the building. But it's on 2nd Street so it's like a gold mine in the middle of California, you gotta go look for it yourself. So I walked in and it was nice but the first thing that hit you when you walk in is the smell. It really smelled like butter cookies with hopes and dreams attached. The Cashier was really nice really edgy my kind of guy I gave him the code for my free goodie bag and hesitated. There in the cookie case sat four of the last butter cookies of the day. And I'll admit I bought them I didn't care they were gonna be mine. The aroma made me do it I promise. Customer service was a 10/10. I made it home I have gifted mother 2 of my cookies. I sneak to my chamber to see my rewards. The first cookie calls me, I unwrap the cookie I bites into the cookie and I think back to all my life choices in one bite. Y'all this is one of the most beautifuliest cookie I've ever tasted. And I've had MCS cafeteria butter cookies and they can never compete but I felt like a little kid again with this cookie. They say good can bring back the nostalgia everyone had hidden off in the surface. And this cookie was it. I'll rate this cookie a 9.6/10.. why not a 10/10 I personally feel the cookies could be thicker but that's just me and my big backetry . Y'all please come out and get you some cookies early as you can cause I think I caught them right before closing. And if you not a butter cookie fan it's ok I gotchu they had other flavors (M&M cookies, strawberry, etc) and they were equally delicious. But I didn't come for them I came for the butter
