We swung by this store for a quick bite before heading back to our hotel. We hadn't come across this place while reading up on Memphis, but I am so glad we had a chance to pop in. Small, quaint shop with lots of variety of candy and friendly staff. We opted to go with the fudge- it just looked too good! I'm a big peanut butter fan, so of course we went with the Oreo Peanut Butter Fudge. It was rich and delicious. I'll be back again to try the other flavors! read more

Bea and her sugar shack is amazing! We had a grand ol time checking out all the old style candies and fun souvenirs, all while we sipped on our lovely $5 fireball shots! What a fun experience! As you pass by on the street, you can just smell the yummy homemade fudge coming from inside so we just followed our noses. You should do the same! I just have to mention, the prices here are great!! For being such a touristy spot on Beale, I was thankful it wasn't crazy expensive. It made us come back around for another one of those shots as we walked Beale street! It may be small but you may take your time checking out the variety of candy offered here, some are nostalgic and will definitely bring back memories of your childhood. We were informed by the owner they were definitely having a good day, but it has been doing good since they only opened several months ago. The owner also said their fudge has been a great hit. They have a glass section where you could catch them in action making fudge. Although I love sweets I was full from a meal and grabbed only a couple of bags of single serve cotton candy. To my surprise the cotton candy, one pink and blue had the perfect taste! Come check out the sweets and maybe enjoy some too! Loved this place. Headed in to just check it out and walked out with $40 worth of candy. It is small and cramped and there were a cast of thousands all trying to get the same flavor of Jelly Belly's - but it was fun to find all these candies I haven't had since I was a kid. I let the price point go because I was on a vacation. The guys at the front were super nice. Friendly. We paid by credit card and when it processed the cashier pointed to the screen. He was motioning to the portion that indicated that we could tip him. My husband immediately began asking me how much to tip. Loudly. So the cashier could hear. I was honestly not sure what I would be tipping him for exactly. I walked through the store, picked up my items, and took them to the counter. It just seemed strange. I don't buy groceries and then tell the cashier here's a $10 for her troubles. If tipping for expected customer service is a thing, I need back pay pronto. (Long story longer - my husband did not tip him but we did get the opportunity to have an awkward conversation about what services constitute a tip in front of the person who was clearly expecting one. ) Fun place but don't be weird about the tipping. read more

I visited the Beale Street Sugar Shack after the restaurant where I ate dinner had run out of dessert. I am so thankful they did. The smell of sweets hits you as soon as you walk in the door. While all the candies and colorful wrappers were treats for the eye, I made it no further than the main counter - fresh fudge of numerous colors tastes, and a server that was friendly, funny, and let me know "never put your fudge in the refrigerator", Their fudge is out of this world. I sampled a few, but the decision was simple: God's Gift to Fudge. Follow the rules on that fudge as well. Cut a small section, put it on your tongue, and suck away. It will be a sad day when the two bars we brought home from our trip are gone. read more

I'm not normally a fan of sweets, especially not fugdge because of how sweet it is, but my friend was and were able to try several different samples of the different fudges. We ended up getting the white chocolate "God's Gift to Fudge" which was delicious. It had some thick chunks of caramel swirled in it and was a nice ratio of sweet to savory flavors. BEWARE they have a guy working there who says he's giving you the correct change but then pockets half of your change. Woman in front of me said this isn't right and he said new system. When he gave me my change, he said the here is $14.63 but later checked and there was $7.63, all singles. I went back the next day they said the drawer balanced. Great selection of candy. However I think the cashier/owner was drunk. It was 9pm on a Friday night when we entered. An older gentleman came in after us and asked if she had anything sugar-free. She then proceeded to ask him if he was diabetic which he responded with a "yes". With knowing that information, she yelled for him to "get out of here". He turned around with a stunned look upon his face and walked out the door. When we came up to the register with our items, she had been talking with a couple at the end of the counter as if she were friends with them. she then walked over to the fudge display, told us to get out of their way because she was going to share a piece of her newest kind of fudge with one of them. The owner of this store is so sweet! Yesterday I took my son & 2 other kids in with me. When we got to the register we were chatting & my son informed her he wanted to use some of his birthday money to pay for his purchases & she gave him a piece of fudge to celebrate his 6th birthday. Then it was my turn to pay for a few more items & I realized that the cash I put in my pocket, must have fallen out when I pulled my phone out of my pocket. She was very understanding, she still let us take our items & I promised I would come back to pay. People usually don't do things like that anymore. We will be going back more often! read more

Excellent service and selection. The fudge are amazing and one of the must gift to take back home. We always get fudge here during our visit. The people are knowledgeable. I ask for a Memphis goodies to take back to be share with office mate since bbq won't keep. Well they turn me on bbq popcorn. Which is amazing. During the transaction, we for got a box pf fudge.
