Picked up a beer on the street at tater red's with a wonderful bartender named Sarah. This is far by the best value beer on the street.

Okay, this place is creepy fun. The outside is a little daunting if you're straitlaced, but it's worth your time to go inside and check out the huge selection of Tater Red's-themed oddities that fill the store. You can find items like hats embroidered with flames, key chains, bobble heads, t-shirts, and some great music memorabilia for somewhat reasonable prices. The 'creepy' comes in with the voodoo selection. Need some 'voodoo and mojo'? Perhaps you want that guy/girl to like you or you want that promotion? There's a selection of powders, candles, voodoo dolls, and oils like 'Dump That Chump' or 'Mother In Law Stay Away' to get your voodoo on if that's your thing.

Tater Red's is pleasingly disturbing. I have eyed objects in there and could do nothing other than shake my head at their absurdity, yet I am oddly fascinated by them at the same time. I'm talking about the line of voodoo candles, accessories and magic potions that line the shelves. They're fun to look at, and even more fun to imagine them working. But I've never really believed in all of that stuff so it's more of an interesting joke to me than anything else. I do love the music memorabilia- it's always fun to turn through the poster display and see some of my favorite classic bands featured. They also have some fun clothing in there. I went in once when I was pregnant and had a field day with the loose fitting hippie clothing (just say no to real maternity clothes, ladies). There are all kinds of little campy knick-knacks so this is a great place to pick up last minute souvenirs. All in all, a very fun place to browse on historic Beale Street. I demand you go now or I will use my secret voodoo hex potion on you and turn you to dust.

Walking down Beale street, spotted a postcard rack and so ducked into this shop. Apart from touristy Memphis postcards selling for between $.35 cents and $1, there's a whole bunch of eclectic stuff, with a Southern Gothic edge. The blokes at the counter were super nice and friendly and would return and also recommend for other Tourists, if you are looking for postcards (They were $1 for the same ones at A Schwab's a few stores down). BTW - make sure you look up at the ceiling of this store, its super cool with signed drums hanging from the floor. Note: #49 of Yelp 100 challenge for 2016

Oh, randomness, how I love thee. Probably one of the coolest shops I have been in lately. They have everything from horse masks to t-shirts, from voodoo candles to finger hand puppets. The girls in there, on the night I was there, were awesome. Props to them for dealing with a crazy hurricane of drunk people.

Tourist place with a lot of cheap stuff in it, but it's fun and unusual stuff. If you come down to Beal St. I would suggest at east walking in and seeing if there is something that might catch your eye. You will more than likely pay to much for it, but hey, isn't that like most tourist places?

I always stop here when im in Memphis. It's creepy fun! I especially like to see the voodoo curse in the corner of the store... its fun to look @. I swear it looks like a powerful hex. Better to light a candle than curse the darkness. This store carries a lot of goodies including things for black magic spells, curses and voodoo. Dolls, lots of jewelry and accessories, gag toys and lucky charms. Customer Service is good too.

I can not say enough good things about this place as far as a tourist shop goes. The girls that work in the shop are all good to chat to and very helpful. Also all the cool random crap in this place is fun to look at. If in beale st you have to stop in.

Super fun shop on Beale Street. Lots and lots to look at. Not as tourist as most of the Beale Street shops. It's absolutely worth a stop.

If you're looking for a bar that screams college spring break with a sprinkling of "Irish pub style" this is it. Fun, but no big deal.

My new favorite Memphis gift shop is no exception. Nest manages to cram a well-organized and thoughtful stock of housewares, gifts, baby items, jewelry and dishes into their tiny Germantown space. The building, which looks more like a wee cabin than a storefront is only 12 feet by 16 feet. Inside, though, gift items (many of them appropriately tiny) are arranged floor to ceiling. Be sure to look down - some very cool things are hiding on low shelves. What I liked most about Nest is that because of the space's size, everything in the shop seems like it was stocked with intention - there's aren't any items that don't belong. I loved the tiny spoons, vintage silverware bundles, shabby chic textiles and selection of cute necklaces (that range in price from crazy reasonable to fairly high end). And despite it's size, Nest is the sort of place that would probably have a gift for even the pickiest people. Next time I need something for my mom or a hard-to-buy-for lady friend, this is where I'm going. A word of warning before you head to Nest: it's really hard to find on Google Maps alone. The easiest way to get there is to head east on Poplar (towards Germantown). Turn right into The Market at Poplar Estates - it sort of looks like a garden center. Keep going once you turn in, and Nest will be on your left.

This is the BEST gift shop in town. I shop here for all gifts for others as well as myself…read more There has never been a time that I did not gone into this shop and not find anything. They have unique items that other shops don't have. It is my "go to place" for gifts.

Anytime I've been in Babcock I've been greeted and helped without issue. In fact on my last visit I was the rude one - no appointment and I might have expressed some frustration when I was offered a Tuesday appointment (I work, which apparently also differentiates me from the typical customer). Macy's just doesn't have everything and I was just looking to get one more thing crossed off my busy bride to do list. Anyway, my fiancé and I were able to select our flatware and let the kind lady helping us know the glasses I already knew "we" wanted. She was even kind enough to pull out the China we already have so we could see how the flatware options look with it. We were given the 411 on how the registry works - people actually buy gift certificates and we'll get a card in the mail and can order the actual items at one point in time. We were offered to look at other items and weren't treated like we imposed upon them when we kinda did. Oh, and they gave me a six pence (something old, something new, some borrowed, something blue and a six pence for your shoe) on our way out - how cute is that? My fiancé did find the whole thing a bit pretentious though so I'm deducting one star because they're doing something to not make people feel welcome.
