The are a lot famous people sign their name on the frisbee. I saw whole cast of CATS, Evita, Oklahoma and more. When you try to look for some artist you know, it almost like search the needle in the haystack. Just luck that if you see one. The stare has various interesting souvenir. It includes lady boas. Be the lady with feathers of a night. The displays also have some painted skull. Voodoo skull face, cell phone case with skull, ear ring with skull, t-shirt with skull, voodoo tall hat, and more. July 26, 2013, I visited Tater Red's Voodoo Shop on Beale Street with Tony and Noel. The shop is very interesting..Not your typical tourist shop..it has a smell of incense and cluttered like Where is Waldo? or Where is Voodoo...lol !!! But there are some very interesting items in the store. Noel was in awe!!! She bought a few items and a great t'shirt to wear back in West Virginia for high school...hope they don't make her turn it inside out... I liked the shop and would go back again.. read more

Super fun shop on Beale Street. Lots and lots to look at. Not as tourist as most of the Beale Street shops. It's absolutely worth a stop.

Okay, this place is creepy fun. The outside is a little daunting if you're straitlaced, but it's worth your time to go inside and check out the huge selection of Tater Red's-themed oddities that fill the store. You can find items like hats embroidered with flames, key chains, bobble heads, t-shirts, and some great music memorabilia for somewhat reasonable prices. The 'creepy' comes in with the voodoo selection. Need some 'voodoo and mojo'? Perhaps you want that guy/girl to like you or you want that promotion? There's a selection of powders, candles, voodoo dolls, and oils like 'Dump That Chump' or 'Mother In Law Stay Away' to get your voodoo on if that's your thing. read more

Tater Red's is pleasingly disturbing. I have eyed objects in there and could do nothing other than shake my head at their absurdity, yet I am oddly fascinated by them at the same time. I'm talking about the line of voodoo candles, accessories and magic potions that line the shelves. They're fun to look at, and even more fun to imagine them working. But I've never really believed in all of that stuff so it's more of an interesting joke to me than anything else. I do love the music memorabilia- it's always fun to turn through the poster display and see some of my favorite classic bands featured. They also have some fun clothing in there. I went in once when I was pregnant and had a field day with the loose fitting hippie clothing (just say no to real maternity clothes, ladies). There are all kinds of little campy knick-knacks so this is a great place to pick up last minute souvenirs. All in all, a very fun place to browse on historic Beale Street. Walking down Beale street, spotted a postcard rack and so ducked into this shop. Apart from touristy Memphis postcards selling for between $.35 cents and $1, there's a whole bunch of eclectic stuff, with a Southern Gothic edge. The blokes at the counter were super nice and friendly and would return and also recommend for other Tourists, if you are looking for postcards (They were $1 for the same ones at A Schwab's a few stores down). Kids wanted to hit Beale Street after dark, so we were in and out of all the souvenir shops. I like this place because of all the signed cymbals and such on the ceiling. Spent most of my time staring up while the kids looked for silly tack trinkets to get. Feels like a cross between Archie McPhee's and a Spencer Gifts. Magnets, fake tattoos, candy, hats, salt and pepper shakers, bumper stickers, this place has them all. The back corner paid homage to black magic and voodoo, which was interesting to find. If you get claustrophobic easily, this might not be the best place for you. If not, take a walk through and enjoy the silliness. read more

Oh, randomness, how I love thee. Probably one of the coolest shops I have been in lately. They have everything from horse masks to t-shirts, from voodoo candles to finger hand puppets. Found my shot glasses finally. I collect them and I had been to a could stores and found some really cute ones but they reallllllllly over priced and these were a little higher than usual but I had to have them. I didn't take a picture before hand and I'm mad bcus I wanted a picture. Maybe when u get home. Lol. The store was massive. It has enough souvenirs for every single person. The cashier was quite pissed about her coworker piss poor work ethic as she was loudly discussing this with her coworker and cursing up a storm. But she did help me. There was only one glass in the case that I wanted and she took time to check and found a whole case. She surely went off then. Lol. Why am I only the second person to review Tater's?! This is the question that dumbfounds me. I ADORE Tater Red's. Within these four walls you can purchase some amazing posters of musicians (cool musicians- The Beatles, The Boss, The Stones, The Ramones etc.) The Crazy Cat Lady board game, bobble heads, magnets, fresh cinnamon covered nuts in numerous nut varieties, lighters, voodoo dolls, voodoo candles, voodoo potions, books, hats, bumper stickers, tons of kitschy and random jewelry, gum and candy and a small, but wonderful collection of fun, flowy, hippy dresses and shirts. I love the gals behind the counter, like love them so much I have pondered asking them if they would be my friends. But who asks that- and I have to remind myself how crazy it sounds every time I think it. If you cannot find a gift or souvenir for someone in this place they don't deserve one. Nope, not at all. If the person you are shopping for would not appreciate anything you find in here or the humor would be lost on them, ditch them and befriend the counter ladies. read more

Just got back from Memphis on a work trip. Took my fiance with me who is a huge Rolling Stones Fan to walk down Beale Street. Stopped in Tater Red's. It was unbelievable the amount of supposedly "real" cool autograph's Tater had in stock. You name it, he had it, from sports autographs to music autographs. We bought a baseball "tucked" away in a case signed by all four members of the Stones for 250 bucks. (yes we should have known better). It has a COA from Coach's Corner Sport's Auctions which is in connection with a "forensic grader" named Chris Morales. After a search of google on the name of this auction house and Chris Morales you will find that almost all the things that this man has "certified" have been fake. It was very disheartening to say the least. I can't say for sure, but I did notice that most of the things that I saw with a COA in this place were from the same auction house. I would bet they are pretty much all suspect. My fiance and I have called the owner and he wasn't there. He is supposed to be there tomorrow. I will be more than happy to update this review later on, but at this point I feel that I have been had, one way or the other. (Reminds me of the Stone's song.. You Can't Always Get What You Want). I have called my credit card company to discuss options of putting the transaction in dispute, for it has not posted yet. I am going to call "Tater" at Tater Red's Tomorrow" to see what he says. At this point in time, if I were you I would be very, very, wary about doing business with this establishment and purchasing a signed authentic piece of memorabilia, unless something is officially graded by PSA or JSA, who are the most formidable graders of authentic autographed memorabilia in the business. And even then, I would still be extremely cautious. I wish we had had time to do our research, and perform due diligence, but at this time I feel we were taken as Memphis Suckers. The employees inside of Tater Reds were exceptional during my transaction, but I can't suppress a feeling of ill will towards them at this point considering the information that i have now. I find it hard to believe that couldn't have known that some (if not the majority) of their stuff might be forgeries. I hope this all works out, with us and Tater Red's. I guess we will know more tomorrow when we try to get a hold of Tater again. I am not sure if he refunds my money I will feel any better about it at this point. Came down to Memphis for the day to check out Beale st with my family before my flight back home to Las Vegas. Stopped in to Red's and was buying up a storm and found the T-shirt wall. Saw 2 perfect shirts for this summer during music festival season (I collect and only wear the coolest shirts for the best nights of the year. Personal tradition for 6 years). The worker girl told me she had to keep at the register and would have them when I was done. Fine. Finished up getting my fill of Voodoo trinkets and skulls (they have a great selection for skull people), went to the register and she had my shirts she said and put all my stuff into my $3 tote bag I bought from them also. $100+ after we left, went out more around the town more got to the airport (where I am now writing this waiting on my flight to board) and noticed the horror.... Wrong shirts in WHITE. Plain old dirty guaranteed WHITE. If I ever even knew they were available in white I would have completely expressed how much I hate WHITE Tshirts. So much. Called the store and was told to send them WITH A PAID RETURN ENVELOPE!! So... Because your store is located in a major crime rated city, you instill policies and then employ people who should be trusted to give the customers what they ask to purchase! With all the commotion (it's a bussssy store) I was so distracted I never thought to ask to verify, unfold and check to see if she got the two shirts that were side by side in the top corner of the wall, right. I'm soo mad. I hope they can offer a FAIR resolution, I shouldn't have to pay out of MY pocket 50% of the cost of the item to fix the situation. It looks like tourist-burn, we will see. read more

We were JUST in your business tonight, at about 8:30. My girls (10 and 11) chose items to buy and we decided to come back in a few minutes to make purchases. We came back after going to another store, and it was 8:49 (I checked my phone when the girl would not allow us in). We were told "sorry, we closed at 8:45" even though there was no sign, and we were pushed out the door. An older gentleman was also standing outside, and he told me he was told the same story, and was kicked out. We will be sure to take our money elsewhere, will not return, and will tell our friends we were treated rudely. Thanks for ending our only night in Memphis on a sour note. It's full of voodoo magic paraphernalia, hippy clothing, autographed music and sports memorabilia, and a glass shop in the back (over 18 only). This is one place I go into every time I am on Beale St. It is filled with all kinds of trinkets some very artistic and other stupid and dirty. You will have tons of fun in this place after a night on Beale be sure to bring a group of friends. The staff has always been really nice and helpful they seem like they love their jobs even though they deal with drunks all night long. I have been in this place many a time and left with such stupid things as small plastic hands, pigs making bacon salt and pepper shakers, hula girl, skull belt buckle and a kimono. As you can see a wide variety of odd stuff that while you are tipsy you will think is hilarious. Be sure to stop and have fun! read more

Loads of over priced touristy crap. They have everything from an alligator head for sale to stickers and posters, belt buckles, insense, you get the picture. For me personally, this is one of those places you always go into when your in the area just to look at everything and not buy anything. Its a cool place with lots of cool knick knacks and doo dads. Visited Red's on 7-18-14. Great stuff and unique items. I purchased a "Dashboard Jesus" for my truck. I feel like Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke. "I don't care if it rains or freezes as long as I've got my dashboard Jesus sittin on the dashboard of my car - I can go a hundred miles an hour long as I've got the Almighty Power sittin up there with a pair of fuzzy dice." I visited with the lady behind the counter and we went a looked at the western pictures in the other room. FYI - the picture of Kirk Douglas and Frank Sinatra dressed up in western attire was taken in Paris in 1959 at the Moulin Rouge, they were at a costume party. I enjoyed our visit. Will be back in Memphis a couple times this Fall will drop in for more shopping and visiting. read more
