Great selection of trades and hardcover collected editions. Also picked up some sought after Green Lantern issues. Staff was super friendly and actually knowledgeable about comics (which is oddly hard to find lately). When asked about a specific book, staff immediately went to hunt it down for me. This is a high quality shop. One of the best I've visited (in the last 40 years).

Back when baseball cards and comic books with king. Sometimes I get nostalgic for those teenage years buying comics and Donruss/Fleer cards back in the 90's. Back then I could see things were changing and going more toward the playing card games. I was happy to see this place alive and well, and moved into a better location. I came on a Sunday and yeah it was packed with men playing Magic the Gathering. I saw the old owner, don't remember his name, with his signature glasses and fisherman hat. It was good to see him still at. They still sell some comic books, but obviously that market is dying and frankly lost a lot of old readers who made up the fore fanbase. Still I was very happy to see the old Triple Play, Comic Cellar still around and seemingly thriving. Magic is not a game I play and it's certainly not my crowd, but definitely give this place a chance. It's a cool piece of living history in the local nerd community.

The mini golf course was very family friendly. Free for the 3 year old and only $12 for the wife and I. I'm pretty sure it was 18 holes and it was just really nice. You pay for golf at the comic book counter. I liked that they had some cheap comics for small children on a shelf down low where little kids can pick one. There are a few arcade games. Not much for the toddler ages though. There's a movie theatre room for about 15 people that you can rent for $15 an hour I think they said. Bring your own dvds and video games. There's private areas for events and there's a patio outside for those nice days at the park. I believe I saw on Facebook where they plan on growing a corn maze, but looks like they never planted it. There is no beer, but they told me they are working on that and plan to have some soon. It is also worth mentioning that there is no cell service at all in the building and no WiFi either. I forgot to try my phone outside. You'll have to leave the Internet at home. We had heard the pizza was really good but my wife and I both were underwhelmed. It was good for what it was, and it was actually better than what you would expect from a place like this, but it was not great pizza. Chicken tenders were homemade and the milkshake was great. I plan on trying the philly next. All in all, I like this place and welcome it to Fayette County. Update: after writing my initial review, I decided to take the family a second time, on a Saturday night. We very much enjoyed ourselves and the people were friendly. We had dogs and phillys. Again, better than average food and better than you would expect for an entertainment type family place, but not a restaurant I would go just to eat at. I really like the place overall though.

I special order Buffy, Angel, Charmed and other comics for myself and my kids and have a file. Huge selection of used paperback and hard cover books CHEAP, other they have a trade-in program on used books. One of the only comic or used book stores in this area of the country. I've even known them to ship comics to old customers who have moved far away on a weekly basis - very personal service. I spend quite a bit of time there :D
