[1025] 10/2019 We visited this local peanut shop due to all the great reviews on yelp. We went late in the day so unfortunately they were closing up. It's a small shop but they have tons of items to choose from. There was product is zip lock bags (see pics). I'm not sure if that's normal or just because we came late in the day. It's definitely a smart way to ensure all of it stays fresh. We picked up a few items. We would be back.

MR. PEANUT LIVES IN MEMPHIS! This quaint small shop is perfect and unexpected. They sell all things nuts, peanut, candy, chocolate and more. It's a real gem of a find. Proprietors were friendly! Great place to buy family gifts.. Rebel says: Mr. Peanut 5

What an absolute Gem! The owner was so welcoming and friendly. As he helped us, at least 6 of his "regular" customers came in. He greeted each one by their first name and knew their usual order. He talked to each one of us as if we were old friends. This is fun little shop. Peanuts, mixed nuts, popcorn, and tons of candies.

You cannot get any better person than Rida. He makes you feel welcome as you walk in the door. I loved the old location but the new location is fantastic. Make a visit for all your peanut, sweet treats and popcorn needs. You can also pickup local honey!!

I never would have come here if it weren't for my friend, but I'm so glad he showed me this hidden gem! Rida is the epitome of great customer service. He was extremely friendly and gave so many great suggestions for us to sample. The peanuts and other snacks he had were all an impeccable quality and tasted delicious. I underrated nuts before, but I honestly had never tasted any that were as fresh before. I would love to come back and get the sample trays as gifts for friends and family in the future.

I have family in Memphis and my uncle has been buying from him for years. We've been sent tins for Christmas, and I finally got to step into the shop. It's a family business and the owner is so friendly and deals with his customers the old school way - like people. We ended up in this tiny shop for probably over an hour just chatting with him. He's got a peanut roaster / warmer from the early 1900s that still works, and its what he uses. He has a variety of nuts - all fresh, and you can taste the difference. If you like spicy, get his spiced blend - either the peanuts or almonds. You won't be disappointed. You can also order online, and he will ship anywhere in the country. His prices are very reasonable considering his product. You will pay a lot of money in the grocery store for packaged nuts. His are all fresh, quality product for what you would probably pay in store.

The Peanut Shoppe is one of my favorite parts of working downtown. First of all, it smells good. Really good. Walking down Main between Monroe and Madison, it's easy to get a big whiff of roasted goodness without even opening the door. Secondly, they're willing to mix up any combination of their fresh nuts and chocolate by the quarter, half or whole pound. Inside, the shop is long and narrow, lined on one side with ancient glass cases full of candy, peanuts and chocolate. The opposite wall is often lined with hungry lawyers and bankers taking a break from their work. The downtown Peanut Shoppe has been in business since 1949, selling nuts that are roasted in the store (which explains the amazing smell). It's one of the friendliest places in town. The shop is currently owned by an ultra-friendly husband and wife team (Riddah and Ameera), who tend to greet their customers by name, ask about their jobs and remember orders. The Peanut Shoppe is open daily until 5 p.m. They accept cash and credit cards on orders over $5.

While out for a walk, we passed the Peanut Shoppe on South Main in Memphis. It reminded me of a shop from my childhood so we turned around and entered. So glad we did. Rida and Nurah were a delight. Not only can you get freshly roasted nuts, but you can get the best caramel coated popcorn that I have ever tasted. We made two new friends today and will be anxious to see them again on our next trip to Memphis.

I hate I can only give 5 stars because this place is, truly, a TEN out of TEN!! LOCATION: The storefront for customers is located in Crosstown Concourse, which is a very popular new development in the heart of downtown Memphis. PARKING: There are several options for parking based on how long you plan to be in the area. Since Pop a Roo's is, typically, my only stop, I can find parking near the door for free since I'll be in for less than 30 minutes. However, you can easily pay for parking using the QR Codes posted alongside the sidewalks or use the parking garage along the perimeter. SERVICE: The owners knew exactly what they were doing when they hired these two ladies! The attendants are hospitable, chatty, and will give you a good laugh while prepping your order. They're kind enough to let you sample the product (which is a game changer since there's usually 10+ flavors on site), and will customize your container if you prefer 2 flavors mixed. PRICE: This place is bang for your buck. The containers I posted are $5. However, if you frequent as much as I do, they have a $25 bag available, which is the equivalent to 6 containers. AMBIANCE: This feels like an elevated experience simply because of the real estate. Crosstown Concourse is the closest thing to a development in Metro Nashville. It's a diverse offering of services. So, you can grab popcorn and walk down the hall to the nearby nail salon, jewelry store, or take the elevator to the modern art displays upstairs. FLAVOR: As someone who's tried every flavor - - this popcorn is unlike anything I've ever tasted. I go back weekly craving Memphis Heat. It's the perfect mix of sweet and heat. However, there are sweet, zippy, and spicy flavors to satisfy any popcorn lover. Please add this to your must try list for the Downtown Memphis area. If you don't have plans to be in the area soon - - make THIS your reason for the drive. It's worth it!
