I decided to surprise my wife with dessert tonight for our anniversary celebration week. Neither of us have been to Sucrose so I stopped by for some dessert to go. They have lots to choose from and it was difficult to narrow down my selections. I finally chose the raspberry cheesecake and the German cherry cheesecake because my wife and I both like cheesecake. The German cheesecake was like a cross between cheesecake and crumb cake, so it was a little dry compared to the raspberry cheesecake, but still good. The raspberry was the best cheesecake I've tasted in a long time. Very moist, very flavorful. Friendly staff and I'll be back to try some other great looking desserts on their menu. So glad I found this cute bakery during my one-night stay in St. Charles. Best quiche I've had in my life - fluffy eggs, flaky crust, delicious all over. Went well with my cortado. The crowd was thinning out on a Friday in the late morning to early afternoon, so I didn't feel too bad taking up a spot while doing work on my computer. We stopped for some afternoon dessert and tea. The food is always good, but sometimes the workers seem a little rushed and unfriendly, which was the case on this visit. The gentleman who took our order was especially gruff and did not let us take our time to look at the items in the case. How they don't have a solid 5 starts is just mind boggling. If you're looking for the best pastries in St. Charles look no further. They literally have almost anything you could ask for. Saturday's are most definitely the best day's to go as they extend their menu out a bit with additional breakfast pastry offerings and a specialty what seems like every weekend. Their cinnamon rolls and sticky buns are weighty and delicious while their croissants and danishes are so light and airy. They just do things right and consistently pump out killer product. If shopping out of the case their macrons are definitely worth the price of admission; get a dozen, you won't regret it (London fog is shockingly good). Their cookies are also divine. They tell you if you sit too long don't buy enough charge you for a full coffee oh a refill unless you stay. They have issues with you using their WiFi without enough purchase. I hadn't realized there was such a good mood cafe near the Historical Main Street in St. Charles. I went there with my 3 friends after watching the Christmas Parade on the Main Street on Saturday. I ordered an orange lavender cake and drip coffee. The cake was delicious and had some lavender seeds on the top of it, and they made the orange flavor much better. However, the drip coffee was terrible. My friends ordered latte, macaron, canele, and so on. Beverages with espresso seemed to be good. I am going to try espresso next time. If I knew this cafe more earlier, I could go there more!! read more

We loved this bakery! I came here with family and we all tried each other's selections. My apple frangipane tart was one of the standouts among us. The bottom crust was just right in almond flavor and the apple topping ratio was perfect. My other favorites were the macaroons - specifically the raspberry one! I was introduced to this gem by a friend today and the moment I walked in, I was ready to hand over my wallet. My eyes were salivating, that's how amazing everything looked! You'll walk into a charming little cafe set with clean modern decor. Dotted throughout are unique succulents and orchids (one of my favorite flowers!). I was immediately greeted by the friendliest guy behind the counter. He was patient with me while I was hanging off the counters, drooling over every tray. haha I ended up ordering a hazelnut latte. Not too sweet and the lovely aroma of hazelnut comforted me on this crazy rainy and windy evening. What a great way to wind down after a busy day in the office! Last time I was here, I just asked for a cup of hot water because 1. I had brought my own tea because 2. I have an autoimmune condition and risk a reaction to anything I purchase in public and 3. I brought a friend who ordered several things, so it's not like I was mooching. Well, the man (I think he was a manager?) was clearly offended by my free-loading request for a cup of hot water. We had a Friendsgiving that we needed to bring some desserts for, and my wife suggested that we give this place a try. She heard about it from one of her co-workers. I am so glad we gave this place a shot. They had so many different goodies that it was hard to decide. We ended up going with 4 different tarts. My favorite was the chocolate cream, but the others were good too. They apparently have a smores one but they didn't have any when we were there. I plan on returning to try that one out. We also decided to have breakfast there, and I got their homemade cinnamon roll. It reminded me of my Grandma's when I was a kid, and that's a VERY good thing. It was delicious. Only 14 reviews and it's not really in the heart of the St. Charles restaurant scene (South Main/Riverfront). But it's well-worth the diversion. Excellent coffees and an amazing selection of sweets/treats. I had a macaroon or two, they are amazing and there's a whole bunch of different and interesting flavors. Very classy dining area, I took mine to-go since I was on the way into the office, but staying and lounging over coffee and sweets would be very cool here. Best bakery in St Charles, hands down! High up on the list for all of St. Louis. Not Nathaniel Reid good, but good. We come in fairly regularly. We make fairly hefty purchases. We even ordered my son's birthday cake from here, let's just say it was a tad more money than buying a cake from Costco or Dierbergs . And we were fine with that knowing we were going to get an amazing cake, which we did! The two ladies behind the counter are always super friendly. The woman that made the birthday cake was amazing. The man, owner, is curt and acts like he has never seen us before. Same less than friendly service from him Every. Single. Time. If it wasn't one of the few good bakery choices in town and if the other two ladies weren't so awesome, we wouldn't come here. But the food and workers make up for owner's lack of hospitality.
