a plate of food with pasta and broccoli

My dad eats here religiously on Sundays after church and after years trying different things I found my favorite. Grouper with Asiago cheese n linguini. I really cannot put into words how amazingly fresh the fish is. Outstanding prices and they cook for you on sight with fries, pasta or veg. I stopped in and had the grouper and my son had mussels. I mean we tore it UP! Sauce was just perfect! The pics do no justice. These folks have everything you need fresh or frozen. I Love It Here!

Really enjoy coming to this quaint seafood shop, and the wonderful staff. The gentleman said he's owned it for several decades, and he had great knowledge of the flavors and was very patient while I asked him questions. Do NOT walk out without grabbing their freshly made crab cakes. Everyone I have had try them have said they're the best they've ever had! We also love their homemade salmon burgers. So glad we stumbled on this hidden gem!

After driving by this place about a million times, I finally stopped in to get some fresh fish. Nice little shop. The service is super friendly, and the variety of fresh and frozen seafood far surpasses what you'd find at a typical grocery store. The first time I went, I bought fresh halibut and crab cakes. The crab cakes were okay, but the halibut was absolutely succulent. I bought king salmon on my most recent trip, and it was also amazing. This place is more expensive than the grocery store, but I suppose that's because of quality and variety. Also, most items in the fresh fridge are not labeled, so I end up having to ask what's what.

Homemade Blackened Grouper (fresh grouper from Succulent Seafood) and crawfish etoufee.

Wallace is a rare combination of the highest quality product, convenience and affordability. Their website is simple to navigate and order from, while the monthly pick up as quick and easy as it gets, you're in and out in 30 seconds. The products, well I don't know where to begin. Everything I have purchased from them has been excellent (and there has been a lot). I have purged my kitchen of any grocery store bought meat and have switched solely to Wallace. Their meat comes vacuum sealed and frozen, which has resulted in my freezer being stocked to the brim with grassfed, organic and ethically raised meat. I challenge you to find a better steak in the city at any price, let alone the prices they charge. For a similar cut at these price points, you're probably looking at a styrofoam tray with a gray piece of meat on it from your local supermarket.

I was skeptical of their products at first because they are delivered frozen but everything is actually great quality. The grass-fed beef is tasty and healthy(er) than mass-produced beef you find at the grocery store. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy a fatty piece of grain-fed steak every once in a while, but I also enjoy good health.. If I had to recommend one item to purchase from Wallace Farms, it's definitely the BACON. I'm pretty much over the whole bacon craze but Wallace Farms managed to change my mind. Their bacon has a flavor that is unlike any other bacon you've ever had. Trust me. Order it.

I needed help choosing the right salmon for my meal prep plan. He not only helped me make the best decision for my wants but also helped me figure out exactly how much salmon I needed to buy. I also needed chicken tenderloins and I was very satisfied with the quality of the five pound bag I got. It was more than enough meat for a good price and I couldn't beat the quality. I will say that the only thing I was disappointed with was the bones I found in the salmon. I'd prefer the salmon to be 100% boneless but I understand that it's common for a few to slip by when you buy salmon. It happens everywhere. The store is small but it had everything I was looking for. There was a decent selection for items I wasn't even looking for. There's bison, kangaroo, boar, duck, elk and venison. I'm excited to try elk and boar next. I also want to commend Lori for her extremely kind and friendly demeanor. She made me feel comfortable in the store and it makes me feel a lot more encouraged to continue coming back. She was very nice and if the whole staff is as nice as Jesse and Lori were then I definitely will be back.

In the Halal Meats section, they have grilled kabobs, fried chicken, and rotisserie chicken that are ready to eat. They have a large produce section. I like that they have a variety of international foods like American, Middle Eastern, Asian, European, Central Asian, and Latin American. Prices can vary depending on what you get. But when you see 10 items on the shelf above the $9.99 sign, you would automatically think okay, it's $9.99, but at the register it's $12.99. I snapped a picture to prove that there were more than one box above the price. (I could have clapped back and said then your workers should read and be able to put things on the right shelf). Produce that's rotten is sold so make sure you are opening up boxes and packages. Wish I took pictures of the rotting produce. At least I didn't buy those. However, normal things like Patron Silver 750 ml is aggressively priced $8.00 more than most grocery stores (including Whole Foods). I chose Syltbar Prosecco (organic no sugar added) and it was $5 more per bottle than online plus the bubbles were not there, when I opened it, so I question how it was stored. But, impressive that they stock it, although Binny's does also. Moving on to prepared foods, I bought a mixed berry half pie that was priced at $8.49 comparable to WFoods, yet the crust was super thick on top, sides, and bottom, and it was overwhelming to the amount of fruit in the pie which was tasty but not enough in quantity. I prefer the pies at Whole Foods. There's way too much butter in their crust, also. Bought Chicken Cordon Blu from prepared deli, and the chicken was tough, not labelled organic, yet $11 per breast. I prefer the prepared chicken at Whole Foods, by far, for tenderness. Tried prepared Brussel Sprouts and they were strangely small and spicy, even though not labelled spicy. Once again, I prefer the sprouts in WF's deli. They have a nice organic produce section, but all priced like Whole Foods (have not tried it yet). I bought 1 organic green pepper and 1 regular red pepper to compare and they charged me the organic green price for both. I don't know what that's about. Dairy -- organic--as high or higher than Whole Foods. Their main claim to fame for me is being closer to my home than a Whole Foods, and far less busy (the WF shoppers will run you over in the Wheaton location) but if they were not so close, I would probably not visit again. They're about 5-10 min from my home by car versus 20 min for WFoods, so I'll likely try a few more times, but avoid prepared deli foods, liquor and bakery. I don't see value here unless price is no object. I did not visit the meat or seafood dept. Their prepared frozen foods are a combination of Mariannos and Whole Foods, with far less organic so that's not thrilling. Their prepared hot foods are a Mexican grill, very small hot bar, and a salad bar. No soup. Far smaller than WF's hot bar. Not a fan of open foods so that's nothing in particular, unless you're running over during your lunch time for a bite.

This shop, home to many varietals of olive oil, vinegar and other gourmet goodies, shares space with Dark Horse Pastries, so you also have your choice of baked goods. They also sell a small array of wine and beer, and products from other local companies such as chocolates and honey (creamed raw raspberry honey, anyone? Sounds good to me!) You can taste all the varieties of oil and vinegar. Like it spicy? Pick from habanero, jalapeno or red pepper oil! Want fruit flavor? How about Mexican Lime, Meyer Lemon or Blood Orange? The balsamic vinegar came in an array of interesting flavors, including Dark Chocolate, which I think would pair well with strawberries! I liked that there were larger and smaller sized bottles to choose from (small size was 5 oz). They also sell a modest range of dip mixes, mustard, pesto, pasta, and assorted other treats. The addition of the bakery in the same building makes this shop a little different from some of the other gourmet places around here (note that there are several other places in downtown Naperville that specialize in this type of product). It's slightly hard to find (go down the alley between Potbelly and the yellow house building and it's in the courtyard behind), but worth looking for! Staff was friendly but not pushy, and quite "on" for early morning! :) Note to credit card users: if you spend less than $5, an extra 50¢ charge is added.
