Small Asian grocery store that has what you need. Rice, noodles, vegetables, butcher shop with fish and meat, eggs, sauces, snacks, can goods, frozen section with wonton or eggroll wrappers, potstickers, etc. They also have a hot food counter. Rice and 2 side or noodles and 2 sides combos about $10 to $12. They have empanadas for $2.50 each and a variety of asian appetizers. There was so much to choose from. Food is delicious and at a great price.

AUTHENTIC And ready to take home Philippine food. The employees are always very polite, in the food is always just as I remember eating in the Philippines. You can dined in, or take out ready to go meals either for individual or family size. Adobo, Kaldereta, Pakbet, fried fish and many street food favorites from the Philippines. The restaurant is located inside the Asian grocery store which also has many hard to find imported Asian specialty foods.

This is the place where we go to for our groceries They have most or all that you will need to cook filipino food. Selections are awesome! So that is a 5 star right there but this review is for the take out section. The restaurant side of it is below par compare to other filipino restaurants nearby but the price is a lot cheaper. We ordered a small menudo to go for $6.99 and as we start eating, mostly carrots and potatoes. Not sure what the ratio is with the ingredients and meat with their dishes but definitely this one was not an even one. It is a hit or miss with this place, like we love their lumpiang shanghai and pinakbet but fail on the others. There are other three restaurants in the area, FM Asian food mart and Unimart are by Woodridge, and South Sea in Bolingbrook. Try each one and see which one meets your taste buds. Happy Eating!

DA FAMILY JEWELS…read more This grocery giant is well-known in Chicago, but they're slowly pricing themselves out of the market. Now that Da Bears have entered hibernation - their magical football season having come to a bittersweet end - I can sit down and hammer out a few reviews I've been neglecting.  This Jewel Osco is at the northeast corner of Boughton & Weber Rd, next to a Panera Bread and Taco Dale (one of the best Mexican spots in Bolingbrook). Growing up, Jewel was my family's primary grocer -- I never even knew of Meijer or Mariano's existence until much later in life.  20 years on, I've got my own house and family and a budget that prohibits us from doing too much shopping here. The biggest issue I have is that Jewel's prices are higher across the board.  Sure, they carry some nicer specialty items (like champagne or caviar) that you can't find at ALDI, but for the basics like milk, bread, and eggs, there's zero reason to overspend. Dozen eggs @ Meijer = $2, dozen eggs @ Jewel = $5.50. 8ct hot dog buns @ Meijer = $1.59, 8ct hot dog buns @ Jewel = $2.79. A 15pk of Goose Island 312 was $16, and a 12pk of Green Line was also $16.  These were fair prices compared to the rest of the items in the beer fridge, and I'd expect to pay the same across the street. Good selection of domestic & imported brewskis. I had to wait a long time at self-checkout until an employee came by to verify my ID.  It didn't seem like they were fully staffed, and the staff that were working had no sense of urgency.  The aisles are usually well-stocked, however I've been here several times when the endcap displays are empty or nearly so. * TL;DR * Had I not been given an Albertson's gift card from work, I would have no need to shop at Jewel, quite honestly. Meijer has cheaper prices, a faster checkout process, and similar selection of goods.  ALDI has even cheaper prices and blazing-fast checkout, but a limited selection (this tradeoff is A-OK with me).  Don't even get me started on the bullsh*t racket a.k.a. the Monopoly game! What a ploy that thing is! The cost of groceries at Jewel doesn't match up with our bottom line, plain and simple.  I was thrilled to see Green Line in the beer fridge, and that saves them from 2-star ignominy.

My husband and I did a pick up and go order and one of the male employees who brought the order out…read morewas extremely rude as he aggressively swung our groceries and threw them in the backseat. I called customer service to report the incident because what kind of employees are you hiring? I feel Jewel hires a bunch of low vibrational people who display the absolute most disgusting behavior. It's a huge turn off to do groceries at a place where the employees have disgusting attitudes.

Anyway, everything about the store is a win for me. I love the selection of produce, but sometimes they do run very low on things. They do offer a lot of products that are hard to find elsewhere and the quality is always really good . I don't go out of my way for organic, but they definitely have a really big selection Since Covid, I don't do hot bars, but they're premade meals are decent like the prime rib for like 10 bucks I found some of the best deals on really high-quality meat I've never been good at cooking steaks, but grabbed a Wagyu strip steak there for half off and it was easily the best thing I've ever made my family like their plates. Yes they're savages, but even they don't usually go that far. They have great selections of cheeses and ethnic spices that are hard to find in an actual supermarket so it's nice not to have to go to 20 different places. I love to cook, which means sometimes I need small amounts of spices if I'm trying something new so it's nice to be able to get most of them there. I think they originated in Ohio, so it's nice to see some of the Kroger offering since I lived there as a kid so it's nostalgic. The neighbor people that hanging out with the bar freaked me out a little bit not gonna lie. I don't get it. I can get behind one and have a drink as you walk through a grocery shopping but to go hang out at the grocery store for no reason, but to sit there and drink as people try to navigate their carts around you... yeah.... Weird. Sorry. Now here's what I definitely don't understand. Their cakes are so underrated unless I've just been walking through life with sunglasses in the AirPods. I have never heard anyone talk about how good their bakery is. They have a huge selection of premade stuff that isn't really their brand but the cupcakes that are made in the store and the cakes they make are incredible. The frosting for their buttercream, you can tell has actual butter in it most grocery stores around here for buttercream seem like they use shortening. I think Mariano's is fantastic and will definitely consider them when I need to order cakes in the future. The people there are also really helpful. My favorite is the woman that supervises the self checkout. She's incredibly friendly and helpful. She doesn't always come across that way initially because she doesn't seem outgoing but she really is great. I definitely say just throw this on your list of regular spots to shop.
