Cupids roll / tamago and tuna sushi

Have been here before, but it's been a while and the quality is just as good as I remember. I had the Cupids roll which has lobster salad, and my husband had one of their tuna boxes.

    Miso Soup

Absolutely horrible! Ordered a delivery. No napkins no chopsticks! One container of rolls had no ginger or wasabi the other had like 2 slices of ginger! 1/3 of soup liked into a plastic bag! Rolls and cheesecake came warm cuz they put it together with hot edamame and soup mochi melted! Edamame has some chunks of noodles how disgusting! I called the restaurant they hanged up twice on me and said there was no manager on shift in the end the manager called me back saying they are having some sort of difficulties like what difficulties can stop you from separating hot food from cold and putting chopsticks and napkins and giving ginger and wasabi how rolls can even go without ginger and wasabi! Manager told me that apparently I was supposed to request chopsticks napkins and a spoon for my spoon is it a joke? What im supposed to have chopsticks of my own?

Went to the resturant today for lunch. The ambiance was friendly. Service was fast. The Crab Rangoon, shrimp tempura and spicy crab rolls were great.

This is our favorite sushi restaurant in this area. The food is always well prepared. The signature rolls are well thought out. Our favorite is the cupids arrow, it always satisfies. We tried the Sumo roll; it was heated and had a savory flavor profile. Very good! The regular rolls are cheaper but also very good. We were given the edamame free for checking in with yelp. A nice gesture. My wife always orders the cheesecake, it's her favorite. Complete home run! The restaurant is always clean and well maintained. The server did a great job. Come see these guys!

What an amazing little hidden gem! Service was super friendly. We ordered So. Much. Food. that I almost felt bad, but everything was made perfectly. For apps we had takoyaki, chicken wings, veggie spring rolls, gyoza, soft shell crab, and edamame. The takoyaki had great chunks of real octopus, the soft shell crab was melt in your mouth, and the veggie spring rolls were so fresh and delicious. We all loved the beef fried rice, it was packed with flavor. The ramen was also very good. Our favorite sushi rolls were the 77 and the Snow Angel. We also loved the sake. Can't wait to return to try more!

This place been open for a long time - yet they keep the furniture nice - and clean - now let's talk food - we loved their tuna dumplings ( it's a tuna sashimi filled with shrimp and avocado nothing to do with real dumpling) as well as amazing tuna roll - yummy/ vegetable roll and spicy tuna, squid salad was also very tasty .. definitely recommend them All - especially the tuna dumpling and amazing tuna maki - service was excellent- we had Jimmy taking care of us today - what a great guy ! Hidden gem in Romeoville! Come and check It out for yourself !!!

Food over all was very good. I only had sushi so the sushi over all was great. The service was okay, they would ignore the customers a lot but it's understandable that they are doing other work. But I mean 15 minutes of us sitting there with empty plates and drinks should say enough, they would look and just walk past but oh well. Over all the ambiance was great it was quiet and a nice setting. Would have liked better service but it could have just been as it was later at night and there were only two sets of customers left.

A great experience with really fresh fish and friendly staff. The interior is inviting and really eloquently designed. The seats are comfortable and you can see the sushi chefs making rolls behind the bar which is cool. The staff all answered our questions well and were patient while we were deciding what to order. Their dishes have the funniest names- when you go make sure to take a look at the names of all of the rolls. Hilarious. We started with some drinks, something sunrise-y and fruity. It was really tasty and well made. Also a gorgeous color. We got eel with rice which was well sauced and was the perfect ratio of rice to eel. The sushi pieces on the gold colored plate were so fresh and incredible for the price. I liked the salmon the best. It was great to try a bunch of different types of fishes and caviar. Definitely a highlight of the night. We also got a couple rolls. Huge! We were genuinely starry eyed when the food came. The avocado was perfectly ripe and the fish paired perfectly. We ordered one roll (not pictured) with mango purée on it. We were curious if the flavors would pair well together and it sooo did. Somehow the texture of the fish and the mango enhanced the whole experience of eating the roll. I miss it just thinking about it while I write this. We also ordered the lemon blueberry crumb cheesecake for dessert and it was *chefs kiss* the crumble was delicious and the blueberry was sweet enough for the creamy cheesecake to mellow it out for an overall taste that was delicious and palette pleasing. I really want to go back next time I'm in Chicago and actively now recommend it to people I know are visiting. Not in the middle of the city but worth the trip.

HOLY HIDDEN GEM! I'd give this restaurant more stars if I could. Literally unexpectedly the FRESHEST sushi you could possibly ask for. Almost melts in your mouth. The presentation when dining in, was very nice. The staff was friendly & made it a very nice experience. We had a younger waiter and you could tell cares about his job & making sure you have a good experience. If you are dining in, def try the tuna dumpling, it's an experience. (I'll take pics next time) Highly recommend this place for dine in or take out, we've done both, numerous times & it never disappoints. Kudos sushi train!

Our third time here and it was great! We had wonderful service and loved the food. I was disappointed to not see Onigiri on the menu anymore though, especially because I haven't been able to find it served anywhere else around here :(

    White Sox Roll

I ordered delivery so I can't really speak on service or the location but the food was really really good. I ordered the White Sox roll and it was on of the best sushi rolls I've had in awhile. Everything we ordered was delicious as well from the Train Ramen, to the blueberry cheesecake, sushi platter, shrimp swiri pops, and gyoza. I look forward to checking out the place in person.

Ordered miso soup, White Sox roll (10/10), Volcano on fire roll (7.5/10), and the Deerfield roll (6/10). Also got the Atomic Bomb appetizer (9/10). We had great service, as our waiter was very friendly and quick in taking and giving us our order.

I was so excited to find a new sushi place nearby! Although I always prefer to eat inside so I can actually enjoy some warm saki with my meal, lovely COVID doesn't allow for that possibility. Hence, enter Grubhub which allowed me to find this awesome place! The prices are pretty fair, I even believe we had some kind of special through grubhub. So, with a sushi loving nut for a husband and with the minimum of Phase one of my children eating, I do wish I had purchased more. Rolls do not always fill, and it will probably be some time until I find the exact mathematical equation in order to determine how much sushi/Maki/nigiri is actually necessary to fill a family of 6. I digress, though. Phase One loved the California and Spicy Salmon Rolls, whereas the husband literally died with his Rainbow Rolls. Being a veg head myself, my veg son and I ordered the AAC rolls, the Haru Maki, and the Veggie Fried Rice. Everything was absolutely delicious, prepared well, warm or cold when it needed to be, and had us subsequently swooning for more. How I wish they were open for dining in, and we shall wait for that day!

They also have a cart with games and slso sketchbooks at each table. My husband and I started out sharing the takoyaki, which are octopus balls. My son introduced me to this dish and I am obsessed with it so I was happy to see it on the menu. They didn't disappoint. My husband had a Mongolian udon bowl and I had a poke bowl. Both of us customized our bowls and chose what we wanted in them. I like that we are able to do that. I also had a taro milk tea with tapioca pearls made with almond milk. Over the years, we've only had carryout/delivery so I can't comment on the dine-in experience....though I have seen a shelf with various card games on it I'd love to take advantage of. Staff are friendly and orders have always been ready on time. My wife usually gets the Shoyu ramen ($15 w/sliced seaweed, garlic oil, spinach) and I always get the miso ramen ($15), a traditional broth with choice of protein, soft boiled egg, green onion, corn, and bamboo shoots. I devoured everything except the bamboo, 'cause I'm not a panda. The pork chashu (braised pork belly) is some of the BEST I've ever had, marvelously fatty with a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. If you're feeling extra hungry (or are really into anime), you can order the Goku ramen bowl ($22) which includes chashu, shrimp, grilled chicken and fried chicken. Maybe eating it makes you go Super Saiyan?? Their ramen has 4 options for spiciness: a 'little' spice, spicy, spicy ++, or a 'spice bomb' on the side. I've ordered normal spicy and it's been perfect every time; I'm worried anything hotter would work against the delicious flavor profile of the broth, which I do not want to mess with. Gyoza (6 for $8) are tasty, especially when dipped in the garlic ginger-soy sauce. Crab Rangoon (6 for $7.50) come with a sweet peach sauce, another great choice for appetizer. If you're not feeling ramen, Gung Ho also has poke bowls ($13), Mongolian stir fry, and a teriyaki bento box ($14). My wife loves their coconut milk tea ($6), and she insists on getting one every visit. I've tried the banana milk tea and the Thai iced tea, both were tasty. You can add tapioca pearls, popping boba, or fruit jelly (lychee, mango, strawberry) at no extra charge. They also have an "avocado milk crush", whatever the heck that is. * TL;DR * Tanaka Ramen in eastern Bolingbrook was our go-to for several years, but I think Gung Ho edges them out in terms of quality. The miso ramen is an umami explosion and the milk teas are great. Prices are fair with an interior that encourages hanging out (sketch pads and board games provided). Gung Ho offers good vibes and some of the best ramen in the area, I highly recommend them!
