    Pad See Ew

Ordered carry out. Order was ready and on time and my order was correct. While sitting waiting for my food to be rung up I saw in 5 minutes at least 8 people come in for carry out and/or dine in which is a good sign. The pad see ew was good but a little too spicy for my liking. The noodles were too crunchy for me. There were also mushrooms in the dish which I've never had in this particular dish before. Thai tea was good a little on the sweet side. The Thai coffee was average and there was not enough cream in the cup even when I asked twice. The cashier was super nice and I would give her 5 stars but for the food and cost 3 stars.

This restaurant is a pleasant surprise but it's hard to appreciate if you aren't familiar with Cantonese cuisine. I tried a variety of dishes and items and was in general happy with what I received. The eggdrop soup (with corn) and hot and sour soups were a little above average. There was a little more care than normal put into the preparation but didn't make a strong impression. The smoothies were surprisingly good. Few places outside of Chinatown get a good mix of flavor without being excessively sweet. The biggest surprise was that the tapioca (boba) was both soft and properly separated. Many places outside of Chinatown tend to freeze the boba instead of preparing it fresh, resulting in suboptimal texture and clumping. The beef chow fun was probably the best dish with thick rice noodles that were fried to be very crispy. This was paired with tasty, tender beef. The crispy duck was prepared exactly as advertised -- crispy. Like the beef chow fun, I felt like I was eating Chinese junk food (but it tasted so good I couldn't tell myself to stop). The Szechuan string beans were also a solid choice with good flavor and texture. The item I was disappointed by was the shrimp pad thai. It was prepared in a almost Hong Kong style tomato sauce and didn't taste bad, but I was hoping for a contrast in flavor. Overall, a solid choice if you're in the area or you want a bit different flavor from the cuisine you get in Chinatown.

Burnt food. No apologies or refund and hung up on. Unbelievable.

Tai San Chef used to be our go to Chinese restaurant, however, it's completely gone down hill over the past year. We tried it again tonight hopeful we would get a "good" order but we're severely disappointed. The food was burnt and when we called the owner to tell them they said that it wasn't true. We let them know we just wanted a credit and would send them a picture and at that point we were disconnected. We called back and they said if we were unhappy to not order again. Again, we said we just wanted a credit for the burnt food and they hung up on us. We called back one more time and said if they saw the food they would agree with us and by now you can guess the outcome (hung up on). Very peculiar behavior and so here's a picture of our food. We cannot recommend and really disappointed that the owner would not not even listen to us or see the picture. Here it is for you all.

They have some K-pop music mixed in with other American pop music. The owner came by to check in with us and he was very kind and accommodating. They have free candy at the door. The portion sizes were very good. And if you are vegetarian, instead of giving you two shrimp on top of your meat selection, you will get fried tofu, which was a really nice substitution. This is my favorite hibachi place. And they also have frozen drinks which many restaurants don't do. My pina colada virgin was only $8 and with alcohol is $12. The beef was good quality and fresh. Great deal! Free parking.

They have multiple options on their menu, chicken, steak, shrimp, lobster and scallops etc. You can order individual proteins or do combination. I was not a huge fan of their egg yolk (golden sauce) did not feel fresh, other than that rest of the food was good. Expect to pay around $120 for a party of two with drinks and tip. Overall I would recommend this place if you are looking to stay local and don't want to drive to some of the upscale hibachi places.

We asked for knives and were given one to share. The shrimp appetizer looked like no shrimp I have ever seen before. As I brought it to our table I made sure to let my fellow diner know to use a napkin as the shaker was dirty and sticky. We finally just ordered chicken broth with ramen noodles expecting it to taste like Lipton chicken noodle soup. SURPRISE ~ not like anything I have ever tasted before. The booth where we were seated faced west so there were slats and a shade to cover the window. Reading the menu was next to impossible. This was my first exposure to ramen and, most likely, my last. I got tired of waiting for my printed receipt so we left. I will not return to this restaurant.

All that needed some salt or soy sauce. 2 bites were taken and the rest was left. And I usually never leave food. How we roll. Rolled well. But what a bland flavored roll. Server Yazmin. Also sucked. Was busy hanging out with the other servers to actually serve us. Still tipped her 20% cause I guess that's what you do in America... Tip crappy service. The inside is huge with four different dining areas including the front bar and back sushi counter spots as well as a large outdoor patio to enjoy when the weather's nice. Our server, Gary, was so kind and went above and beyond to be friendly, attentive, and give our group a good laugh. My friends started with a Sapporo beer and glass of sake. Their drinks menu had some familiar options but catered to authentic Japanese flavors. For starters, we got the Pork Dumplings and Tempura Zucchini, Sweet Potato, & Avocado. The vegetables tasted fresh and tempura was fluffy and crunchy; not greasy. For mains, we shared a bunch of rolls. We got the Godzilla, Boston, Spicy Tuna, Vegetable, as well as (2) off menu rolls. I loved that the vegetable roll let you pick 2-3 veggies you wanted to make it a unique flavor. The Sushi Rolls were well priced for the size we got. When asking for signature roll suggestions, a server told us about some off menu rolls she highly recommended so we knew we had to try! These two were easily our favorites of the night. I sadly can't remember the names but just ask!
