Fresh Fruit Spritzer And Basil Tofu
    Steve A.

A pretty good place to get Americanized Asian food. It focuses mostly on items like noodles and pho because of course it's in the the name of the place. Noodles Pho U has a few locations and this one is in Bolingbrook among a bunch of chain restaurants. Has some other things like teas with boba. The pho and food is pretty okay but isn't anything special. For sure most people come here to get pho especially when the weather is cold. It's unfortunately not a good choice for vegetarians but there's some more options. They have lots of other entrees and some of these have a side of rice. I came here recently with my one female friend. This place is best known for pho. Also they have drinks. They have Fresh Fruit Spritzer. It's $4.50 for a regular. You choose 2 fruits to mix in this. Also you can add flavor for an extra charge. We knew we weren't going to get pho because there's no kinds that are vegan. Another option that turned out good was the Basil. It's $8.95 for a pretty big portion at lunch. This has steamed rice and a choice of a protein. Lots of vegetables in it. The price for this is okay but there's things a lot more expensive such as the bowls of pho. Has lots of healthy and warm stuff here. It's worth checking out this location or another least once. The pho is okay but don't forget about the rest because this isn't the only thing.

    Not so spicy papaya salad

This place used to be good but lately the food has been meh. Portions are getting smaller and is anyone tasting the food they're making? I ordered the papaya salad thinking it would be salad sized. As you can see in the picture it's very small. Also they slice the shrimp in half to make it seem like you have a lot. No. I got 3 whole shrimp that were sliced in half. I was in the restaurant business for over 25 yrs. Y'all out here charging ppl 13.95 for salad that costs you no more than 2.50 to make? At least give me more WHOLE shrimp for that price. This was in the appetizer section so maybe price it accordingly. Also the shrimp were not cleaned properly. And it's not spicy at all. Anytime I have to season food I ordered that's a problem. It was very sweet, no salt, no spice. Also got a peach boba with passionfruit..it tastes like just sugar. There's no flavor whatsoever just sweet. I added some lime juice to make it more palatable. I will not be ordering from them again

Out of all the locations his is the one to go to!! The food here is much better than the other location. My husband ate the whole thing. So it was good. The children pad Thai was good. Kung pao chicken was very good. The Thai tea was yummy. But too much ice. We will be back to this location.

The pho is very plain. The broth could definitely be more flavorful. The summer rolls are really good though!

After being loyal customers for the past four years, we left before ordering because of how we were…read moretreated upon arrival. We had a reservation for five people, but one family member was unable to attend due to a last-minute conflict, so we arrived with four. When we checked in, we informed the host of the change. Rather than simply adjusting the reservation, the manager immediately began lecturing us about not calling ahead and told us that if we had notified them earlier, our reservation would have been canceled and we would have been placed on the walk-in waitlist. What made this especially confusing was that we were still honoring our reservation and dining with four guests. We were not canceling, arriving late, or significantly reducing our party size. The change occurred at the last minute, and while we would have called had we known earlier, arriving with four instead of five did not seem like a situation that warranted the response we received. We were then told we would have to wait and were placed on a waitlist despite several open tables, including an empty table already set for four guests. A few minutes later, another table was prepared and we were seated directly next to that same four-person table, which remained empty. Unfortunately, the interaction did not end there. After we were seated, our server informed us that she had been instructed to tell us that making a reservation for five and arriving with four would not be tolerated in the future. At that point, I asked who the manager or owner was and was directed to the same individual who had addressed us when we arrived. To the server's credit, she apologized and explained that she was simply relaying the message she had been told to deliver. By then, however, it was clear that the manager felt it necessary not only to reprimand us personally but also to have the message repeated through our server after we had already been seated. What could have been a simple conversation about reservation expectations instead felt unnecessarily confrontational and embarrassing. To be clear, this review is not about a restaurant's right to establish reservation policies. It is about how those policies are communicated. We never expected special treatment--only courtesy, professionalism, and respect. After four years of dining here and bringing family and friends, we were surprised to be treated this way over a one-person difference in our party size. We chose to leave before ordering and, unfortunately, will not be returning. What makes the experience even harder to understand is that there were multiple open tables visible in the restaurant at the time, including the empty four-person table next to us and several other unoccupied tables. Given the available seating and the fact that we were still dining with four guests, the manager's response felt unnecessarily rigid and entirely out of proportion to the situation

I would definitely come back to dine in, now that I know they have tables. Other reviews missed this vital part. To clarify on one of the recent reviews. The beef bulgogi bowl combo does not cost $32. It would cost $17.75 without tax. I ordered combo 1 (pork adobo and beef bulgogi onigiri, 4 lumpias, pineapple passion fruit drink, and cassava cake). I also ordered the pork adobo rice bowl, egg sandwich, and matcha white chocolate brownie. I have food for two meals. Overall, it's about a 3.5 - 4 for me. I'll lean in more towards a 4 because I'll come back and try more items. -pork adobo onigiri 2.5 - this one was just okay. It could use more meat and sauce. It was mostly bland. -beef bulgogi onigiri 4 - this was better than the pork adobo. It had more meat but it could use more sauce. -lumpias 5 - they were crispy and flavorful. -cassava cake 5 - it came cold. This is a traditional Filipino dessert. It was light, smooth, and custardy. I could eat two more of these. -pork adobo rice bowl 4.5 - the rice wasn't burnt. There is a generous amount of meat. There are about two meals worth in here. The pork slices were soft and tender. There were a couple pieces that could have been softer. -egg sandwich 5 - you get two sandwiches. The whole sandwich was pretty good. It had a savory taste to it. I would order this again. -matcha white chocolate brownie 5 - it came warm. It was rich, not too sweet, and slightly crumbly. I tasted both the matcha and the white chocolate.

ANCIENT CHINESE SECRET…read more Terrific takeout is often the result of magical MSG. MSG (monosodium glutamate), or 'make sh*t gooood', is a flavor enhancer many restaurants use to amplify savory dishes to a level generally only experienced by eating Chinese takeaway. Most kitchens of this ilk are stocked with plenty of this miraculous white crystalline powder, and I doubt Garden China is any different. This small spot on Route 53 in Bolingbrook offers carryout, delivery, and dine-in, although I can't picture a single soul who'd opt to stick around here instead of bringing home their haul of Hunan chicken. I've placed online orders and they've been ready at or before the scheduled time. The appetizer combo ($17) is a good value: 2 crab Rangoon, 2 fried wontons, 2 beef teriyaki, 2 fried shrimp, 2 chicken wings, and 2 egg rolls. The wings didn't get eaten, but everything else was consumed with haste and they reheated splendidly in the air fryer the next day. I would've liked hot mustard or duck sauce for dipping. My wife loved the wonton soup ($8 for a large) even though she grouses about it heating unevenly--the broth gets scalding hot while the wontons are still cold. Their egg drop soup ($8 for a large) is maybe the best I've ever had, plenty of whirled egg and green onion without any nonsense like corn or mushrooms. They keep it simple and it's quite literally perfect. The kung pao chicken ($11) is also one of the best I've had in recent memory, due in part to the overall flavor but also because of the ingredients. Sometimes kung pao chicken means 90% crap and 10% actual chicken. Not the case at Garden China; they add proportional amounts of celery, carrots, onion, green peppers, water chestnuts, baby corn, peanuts, and plenty of white meat chicken in a tasty sauce. And to top it off, it was much cheaper than other places nearby (Zen House charges $17!) * TL;DR * It's unfortunate that Golden Chopsticks closed in late 2022, but I'm thankful to have Garden China as our new go-to. Garden China has some sneaky-good menu items, notably the egg drop soup (which HAS to be loaded with glorious MSG) and the kung pao chicken, which is just spicy enough and loaded with a great variety of veggies. We will absolutely order takeout again from here!

My food was delivered in five or six minutes. The service was quick and courteous. I will go back. There's only a couple of booths if you think you're going to eat in.
