But I decided to give this place another trek to try. The inside hits all the expected coffee joint beats. Lots of exposed brick, wood tables and older style leather chairs. Exposed black metal accents and stainless steel order placards. The only beat they missed was the coffee bags displayed in some way as a eye-catcher Staff were...there. Wasn't the friendliest but they were very much bored teens just getting through their shift. I respect it, but it's not everyone's cup of joe. Got me their cardamom latte and a breakfast sandwich. Food came out relatively quick. The latte needed a little more cardamom flavor. It was there but light. It did help in tasting the coffee, cause usually whole milk, sweetener, and flavorings can mask the coffee easily. It's giv coffee, which is actually a very pleasant local roaster. Solid coffee, really strong chocolate notes without being artificial. The breakfast sandwich was good but basic. The avocado didn't have the brighter freshness one would hope for with a very strong cheese. So it pretty much was just cold mush with eggs. The English muffin was fresh but not toasted enough, so it was not structured enough to eat without causing a mess. Simple fixes, just salt the avocado (or don't mash it), toast the muffin a little longer, and it would be a very solid breakfast. For the area, versus other coffee establishments in that area, it's uncontested. It's good, but I can find better coffee in other places.
