Ok. I'm a PG fan. This location is the only Papa Ginos location left in the state of Connecticut. It is a shining beacon inside the rotting corpse known as the East View Mall. I hope this location doesn't meet its demise as a result. This is a solid PG location. Great service, clean updated interior. They even brought the food to the table which I didn't think they did. On 5/22/22 we had a birthday party for my grand daughter and several parents. The many pizzas, chicken fingers and fries were all hot and served exactly on time! The pizza was excellent!! The food lived up to the long tradition of great tasting New England (maybe Boston) flavor! BY FAR the best part of the day was the staff!! They assured us everything would be ready and it was!! After a couple hours of playing Double Dragon at Yummies Ice Cream Shop at the East Brook Mall, I would get an hunkering for some thin crust, fast pizza. Ok, that of may been when I was like 10 years old, but you can still go back and the same consistent great pizza will always be there to greet you. Some true die hard NY pizza fans may scoff at this fast food version of the thin crust. I used to love the steak and cheese. Now, after they have been suffering financial problems and closed many locations, it appears they have found another cost cutting strategy. In addition to a slightly smaller roll and less meat, the roll is now one of those soft, highly processed, light "wonder bread" type of products we all abandoned in the 1970's. Now, it is hardly worth purchasing at all. Sadly, we will now take our business elsewhere. We wouldn't have minded if the used a more expensive and better roll and raised the price yet we can't accept a "kid's worst school lunch nightmare" product in something we pay for. Sad. read more

Papa Gino's IMO is the best chain pizza joint out there. Nice thin chewy crust. It's never crispy which I hate. Perfect sauce and cheese. I have been eating here since I was 5 or so, so about 22 yrs. This particular Papa Ginos is getting 5 stars. It must be the oven but this location is by far the best one. The pizza just tastes different at all the other locations. While still good if u want great papa ginos u have to go to the Eastbrook Mall on the willimantic/Mansfield line. They uses to do all u can eat pizza on Tuesdays or wednesdays. Not sure if they still do but that was a nice deal. Can't go wrong with 2 slices and a root beer if your down there ! read more

Always loved going here for the foot long hot dogs & fries. Tonight went in around 6 p.m. and there were 2 other tables occupied. A mom with her 8 yr old son - and a couple with an infant & toddler. We ordered and waited 20 min and still no food - I saw my husbands steak sub just sitting there so I said I'd take that while it's hot & I waited another 10 minutes for a hot dog & fries. 4 women and 2 men working behind the counter. 2 guys came in later to pick up more orders to go. The mom with her son were still waiting for their food AFTER we got ours. She was there before us!! Perhaps if the staff had put their phones away they might have been able to get the food out in a more timely manner. No reason for the delay ~ no apology for the food not coming out together. It will be quite a while before I venture back there. If management doesn't give a damn ~ I won't either. Perhaps if management did their job ~ these kinds of things wouldn't happen. read more

I ordered online and was told my order would be delivered in approximately 30 minutes. Just over 45 minutes after I placed my order and it still hadn't arrived, I called the store to check on my order. I was told the driver had another stop before me but was on his way. Ten minutes later, the driver called me to clarify my address as for some reason, the point of sale system had added an old apartment number to my address on the receipt, even though this wasn't entered or visible online. He arrived maybe 2 minutes later, and just stood outside the door for 2-3 minutes without knocking or ringing the doorbell. I went out and signed the credit card receipt and brought the pizza in, only to open it up and find that it was cold. Overall a very disappointing experience. read more
