Modest diner in Windham area but it satisfies with comfort food! I had their hot roast beef open-faced sandwich and it was tasty, smothered in gravy on white bread. It came with green beans and choice of fries or mashed potatoes (I had their fries which were crispy). Went with a friend for lunch today. I got the tuna wrap and fries with a glass of wine. She got the Country pot roast dinner. It came with mashed potatoes and green beans and gravy. She also got a cup of the Cream of broccoli soup. She said her meal was delicious and she had more than enough to have a 2nd meal of the leftovers. She said the soup needed more broccoli in it. My wrap was toasted and the tuna was very good. My wine was really good also. We will be back again to try something else on the menu. It's reasonable priced. The Olympic is my go-to weekend restaurant for home cooked comfort food. Although ambiance isn't the selling point here, they have recently renovated and there's a simple and charming feel about the interior. Clientele strays towards the older side and it's accordingly quiet and relaxing whenever I visit. I recommend the prime rib of you're there on a Friday or Saturday - it's a steal at $25 with salad or soup and hearty mashed potatoes. Their flounder and fried chicken are also tasty, and if you get lucky the beef stroganoff will be on special. It's one of the best I've ever had. Service is always a joy - ask for Kaitlyn or Riley and make sure to tip them well. read more

Tonight my family had the pleasure of dining at the Olympic. This family run restaurant is the best. I had the grilled octopus in a light garlic lemon sauce. It is the best I ever had. The Rib eye was grilled perfectly, it was juicy, flavorful and the seasoning was on point. The wait staff was attentive, professional and well informed. Every once in a while I'll get the liver, onions, & bacon, but if you're going for your first time, you have to get the Pete Nichols pizza! I've had decent service at this place and service so bad I left when our whole party wasn't even acknowledged after waiting in the booth for over ten minutes. I haven't been back since then. Hate to say that I frequently visit this restaurant. I only give them 2 stars because food I always have to soak up the excess grease off my plate before eating. Last Night I returned my food and chose to just eat my soup. I haven't ever returned food in a restaurant before. They were stuffed mushrooms (old and tough to cut) with nearly no seafood in the breading used to stuff them with and then slathered in oil. Gross. All of the pasta dishes thus far are boring and like some cheap canned sauce. I could continue to rant but wont. read more

This restaurant definitely serves quality and quantity. I had the fisherman's platter and was little skeptical bc of the price but went for it anyway. When the food was served, I was in awe at the amount of seafood that was served. The seafood was excellent and just as good if not better than what you get down at the shore. The price was justified because this plate feeds 2 people and definitely a great value! My wife had the seafood stuffed haddock topped with a creamy alfredo sauce and it was out of this worlp-his was our first visit and we have been there 4 times since in the last 1 1/2 months. We have tried the prime rib, baked stuffed shrimp and a few others. This place definitely serves up good food at a reasonable price. If you like dessert, we tried the andes mint pie and the bread pudding and it was excellent. There was some other options but we don't get dessert that often.
