Walking inside, the vibe is cool, relaxed, and full of pizza nostalgia. There are nods to Hartford pizza history throughout the space, but what really catches your eye are the hydroponic gardens suspended above the dining room. Fresh basil is growing right over your head and eventually finds its way onto the pizzas. That's a pretty neat touch. The best way I can describe Hartford Pizza Garden is this: it's like the Town Green in Pizza Heaven. They've got New Haven-style, Grandma, and Detroit pizza all under one roof. I started with the New Haven red pie. Nice crunch, plenty of flavor, and a beautiful bake underneath. The sauce is bright, bold, and tomato-forward with Parmigiano and fresh basil added after the bake. The sauce isn't over-seasoned, allowing the tomatoes to take center stage and do what they do best. Next up was the Grandma pie. Thicker than the New Haven pie and built upside-down style. The sauce and cheese complement each other perfectly. The crust was soft and pillowy with a crunchy underside that kept me reaching for another slice. Then came the Detroit. The thickest of the three with a beautiful open crumb. Soft, tender, and sturdy enough to support all the toppings. Same excellent sauce, loaded with cup-and-char pepperoni. The crispy pepperoni adds great texture against the soft base. And that frico along the edge? Yes please. The fried cheese crust paired perfectly with the pepperoni and added another layer of crunch and flavor. A couple of other customer favorites are the Taco Pizza and the Shepherd's Pie Pizza. Unfortunately, I ran out of room before I could tackle those. There are limits to my talent. If you're looking for a spot that offers three distinct pizza styles, a fun atmosphere, and some serious attention to detail, Hartford Pizza Garden is worth a visit. This is a woman owned pizza business, her name is Janet, she left the corporate world to make real wood fired pizza with fresh ingredients from the hearth and soul! We were a party of three hungry people. We ordered two pizzas. They only offer one size, it's about the size of an average personal pizza, 12 inches across. We got the veggie and the pepperoni. There might have been one more option. This was a nice sunny afternoon, with a good amount of guests enjoying quality time outside. We waited about a half hour and our pizzas were ready. Yum! My veggie pizza looked delicious! It had all the best things on it! It was filled with spinach, sun dried tomatoes, plenty of fresh mozzarella and mushrooms. This is pretty thin pizza, but nice, crispy and perfectly charred on the edges. Yum! I'm so glad I randomly came across this woman owned gem! As far as the pepperoni, this isn't my first pick, but a very solid choice, no question. There's plenty of fresh mozzarella and plenty of pepperoni slices for those who love this classic. Each pizza was $19, a little on the high side, but it is excellent pizza with ingredients to be appreciated. I'm not sure how often Hearth and Soul changes it's locations, if you see them I'd for sure give them a try. I really loved their veggie pizza, they don't skimp on the toppings. Also for an additional $2.00 they can make the pizza with gluten free dough. Now everyone can be happy!

The Chicken-Bacon-Ranch was probably the best of the four I tried, though it was a little light on the toppings. If it had a bit more chicken and/or bacon I would have enjoyed it a lot more than I did but overall it was good, but could be much better. The Buffalo Chicken pizza was not what I am used to. I'm spoiled by the version that Hometown Pizza does where the chicken chunks are breaded and sauced and the finished pie is topped with bleu cheese dressing. This was a pizza with shredded chicken and hot sauce so, technically buffalo chicken but like the other slices, lacking on the toppings so hard to say it was anything other than just "OK". The Big Mac slice was really the biggest disappointment. First off, the Big Mac is a BURGER and there was hardly any burger on the pizza at all. Though there were some sesame seeds present there were none on the crust. The primary toppings here seem to be the 'sauce' and lettuce which tasted more like Russian dressing than "Big Mac" sauce. It's a nice enough place, cozy inside and the staff is friendly for the most part, I wouldn't mind sitting down for a nice lunch but, as many others have mentioned there are a LOT of good pizza places within a short distance so I'm not sure I'll be coming back anytime soon. I'm not sure why they're so light on the toppings but if your slice pies are that skimpy there's no way I'd order a whole pie. Barely three stars.

There are seats inside, but it seems like this is more of a take out kind of vibe so I ordered everything to go. The pizza: well that was disappointing. The ratio is all wrong - needs way more meat on it. Not a fan. The salad: not quite what I was expecting. It was big but not enjoyable. Ingredients didn't seem very fresh. With so many other great places to grab pizza from in Glastonbury (Angelo's, Giovanni's, etc) I would recommend going somewhere else if you're looking for a good pie!

I attribute the grease from the mozzarella. The sauce was on point though. There was very little flop on this medium thickness pizza. It looked Greek. This was just a typical pizza nothing fancy. The pizza won't be memorable to me. The pizza with two drinks was $26 and a fairly good bargain. I don't think I'd try this place again, but it was worth a shot since I was in the Newington area. I didn't check the restrooms. But if they looked anything like this outdated restaurant, they were fair at best.
