Umm white maple pizza, out of this world . We had it while at Hog River and to be honest, it was the best part of the brewery.

Way overpriced, you would think they are trying to compete with the market but doesn't seem like it

Trigo Wood Fired Pizza

Parking: street spots and also spots behind building as well…read more Decor: was suspect from the outside with a dark older brick facade but inside was done up right with a great paint color combo and open pizza area. Maybe some better lighting but a very nice interior with vintage grade school chairs!! Food: presented well and very tasty, pizza was good but had to ask for some crushed red pepper and seasonings. The beet gnocchi was excellent and the hummus was great too. The meatballs were in a skillet and were great but possibly needs more sauce Overall: 100% if in the area it's a revisit for me!!!

If you're on a pizza tour or just have a hankering for great pizza and good beer, Trigo needs to be your destination. This was my second visit in the last 12 months, and both times they delivered consistently delicious food and excellent service. You're greeted warmly with a smile, and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The pizza here is wood fired with a thin, crispy crust with just a bit of char. Don't be surprised if you see a small burnt spot or two--that's intentional and part of the style. If you enjoy the artisan-style pizzas from places like Pepe's, Sally's, Krust, or Otto, you'll feel right at home here. Located in the somewhat unassuming (and occasionally gritty) downtown Willimantic area, Trigo is truly a hidden gem. Street parking is available, or you can park in the rear lots and walk up the alley to the front entrance. We ordered the classic red cheese pizza, which was savory, crispy, and exactly what you want from a great pie. The real standout, though, was the Lemon White pizza. It was fantastic--unique, bright, and seriously delicious. Thin slices of whole lemon are baked right into it, and they're completely edible. A drizzle of honey and a touch of chili pepper bring everything together in a really memorable way. The beer selection is solid as well. We enjoyed the Keeper's Irish Red and the Mountain Magic cider. Honestly, give Trigo a shot--you won't regret it. My only complaint? They're closed on Sundays... which is a bit of a tragedy.

Their specialty pizzas are great and even a plain cheese pizza is great. The burgers and wraps are good. Love the salads too, especially with the grilled chicken added. Love the chicken wings, they are meaty and good portions for the money. Calzones are stuffed with all the good stuff. Staff is awesome and recognizes their regulars and welcomes them warmly. Lunch and dinner are both good and consistent. Highly recommend. Nice and clean place to dine in as well.

Close to lunch time, on the road. I looked up restaurants in the area and this one was along our…read moreroute. Excellent. This is a very rural area and I would not have expected to find a restaurant along this stretch of road. The building is a square, non-descript, single story set away from the street with parking along two sides. A few picnic tables sit near the parking area on a grassy area. The inside is neat, updated, includes several booths exactly as you would expect in your neighborhood pizza place. Besides pizza, this shop offers sandwiches, lasagna, bottled or canned soft drinks, ice cream dessert items, cookies, and cake for example. The gentleman behind the counter was very nice. We grabbed our drinks from the cooler, paid and chose a booth. Some local art hangs on the wall, but it doesn't say if it's for sale or from a local club for example. Just 'Local Art.' Most of the booths were occupied when we arrived, and several phone orders were placed during our visit, so clearly this spot is popular. Some folks came in for a soda and slice of pie, others called in large orders. A blackboard wall lists available ice cream flavors and prices on cones, bowls, shakes, and more. Laminated menus are on the counter near the cash register and their web site. The website also offers an 'allergy' menu. The food didn't come flying out of the kitchen, but we didn't wait an unreasonable amount of time either. Some of the tables already seated when we arrived were also waiting for food and it looked like this was a two person operation. The food was brought to the table when ready (aka: they didn't call our name or a number) which I appreciate. Napkins, salt and pepper are on the table. Plastic utensils, red pepper flakes and other items you may need are on a table near the counter for you to grab if wanted. Everyone bussed their own table, so we followed suit. The sandwiches were well made, stuffed with lots of meat and plenty of add ins. Their 'build you own' grinder menu has a variety of meats, cheeses, and vegetables. The pizzas looked and smelled good. I wasn't in a pizza mood, but I wish I had bought a slice to try, although the sandwich was so big I barely finished it. No room for pizza. Also wish I'd bought a slice of that rainbow cake, but we were on the road without a cooler, so no cake for me. Sigh. This is a really nice little restaurant in the 'middle of nowhere.' It's clearly popular with locals and I understand why. Good service, good food, clean establishment. They do a fine job. A very nice local pizza place.

I noticed there was a food truck, that made wood fired pizza, while you sip your beer (or wine). This is a woman owned pizza business, her name is Janet, she left the corporate world to make real wood fired pizza with fresh ingredients from the hearth and soul! We were a party of three hungry people. We ordered two pizzas. They only offer one size, it's about the size of an average personal pizza, 12 inches across. We got the veggie and the pepperoni. There might have been one more option. This was a nice sunny afternoon, with a good amount of guests enjoying quality time outside. We waited about a half hour and our pizzas were ready. Yum! My veggie pizza looked delicious! It had all the best things on it! It was filled with spinach, sun dried tomatoes, plenty of fresh mozzarella and mushrooms. This is pretty thin pizza, but nice, crispy and perfectly charred on the edges. Yum! I'm so glad I randomly came across this woman owned gem! As far as the pepperoni, this isn't my first pick, but a very solid choice, no question. There's plenty of fresh mozzarella and plenty of pepperoni slices for those who love this classic. Each pizza was $19, a little on the high side, but it is excellent pizza with ingredients to be appreciated. I'm not sure how often Hearth and Soul changes it's locations, if you see them I'd for sure give them a try. I really loved their veggie pizza, they don't skimp on the toppings. Also for an additional $2.00 they can make the pizza with gluten free dough. Now everyone can be happy!
