Was recommended to try by a local I tried to order delivery but was told the driver wouldn't be there till 4pm which was understandable. Ordered Chicken bacon ranch pizza 9/10 Meatballs with mozzarella 7/10 Service 9/10 I was working right down the street and my customer was a life time local who hyped up it and offered to get it I'm not a big pizza fan but this was some of the best pizza I've ever had the meatballs and mozzarella was good nothing to write home about but still solid but besides the no delivery till 4pm which is understandable and who ever I talked to on the phone was extremely nice and very polite it was great experience if I'm ever in the area I will definitely have to try it again!!. (I forgot to take a photo of the meatballs oops.)

As the name implies, Slice Works sells pizza slices. They also sell pasta, grinders, salads and whole pizzas. I understand they may share some DNA with the various Illiano's in CT and there is another Slice Works in Glastonbury. For my first visit, I ordered a Slice of Chicken Bacon Ranch ("CBR") and a "Grandma Style" slice of Sicilian. Both slices were pretty good. The CBR was New York Style. The crust, sauce and toppings were all pretty tasty. The thicker rectangular Sicilian slice had a nice basic chunky tomato sauce and moz. The outer part was crispy, and the parts towards the center of the pizza were a bit softer. I would definitely return for pizza. Slice Works has a ledge and stools for several people to eat there, but it seems to be mostly takeout and delivery service. Service is still important at restaurants that offer counter service rather than table service. Good service just looks a little difference. The service in my first visit was very good. It's obvious the owner takes pride in his product. He took the time to tell me what they had, a couple of the more popular items and the background of the restaurant. He also offered three people, including me, a sample of a thin Spinach and Artichoke slice while we waited. This was a nice gesture -- especially since service was efficient. I have a favorable impression of Slice Works. It's worth checking out. Four Stars

It should come as no surprise to those who read my previous review that I have made numerous return visits. Cheese pizza slices have been provided at my request each time though there are numerous other options for those of you with adventurous souls. The size of the slices are impressive, burp!, while the quality remains consistently good. So order takeout as I do or pull up a stool and sit at the counter, the choice is yours.

Large portions with relatively cheap prices and very friendly staff. Place is more casual walk-in or takeout type place. When it comes to the pizza, it has many flavors and toppings but pizza is pretty average American style vs the authentic stuff.

So while this isn't the most amazing pizza, the service was truly great. I ordered a Sicilian pie for pick up and when I walked in the garlic knots were eyeing me hard, so I couldn't say no. I got a few sodas from the fridges (they have so many foxon parks! Love to see it!) and when I went to pay, they took my 2 garlic knots to be warmed up. The girl at the counter was very nice. Everything was quite clean too. As I paid, I got a mini slice as a "snack for the road." That's when I really knew I liked this place. We enjoyed our pizza - the pie was good but the sausage wasn't my fave - and 3 (they included a bonus!) garlic knots.

Caesar salad with homemade dressing - yum!

This spot is brand new to town, and it is such a great addition! We ordered delivery tonight, which is available right through the restaurant's website. Delivery service was excellent - ETA was 7:30 and it was delivered 20 minutes early. We also were able to request contactless delivery; our order was left right where requested, and the driver called us to let us know that the delivery was complete. The food was hot and everything was so good! We ordered Caesar salad, cheese pizza with half pepperoni, and a slice of artichoke spinach. I am a huge Caesar salad fan, and this one was perfect - lots of leafy green romaine, big chunks of shaved parm, and a really yummy homemade dressing. (I asked for extra dressing, and it was just the right amount for me.) The spinach artichoke slice was delish. If you've ever had this pizza from Artichoke Basille's, this one was so much better. There was just the right amount of spinach/artichoke and cheese to hold up to the crust. So yummy! And the cheese/pepperoni pizza was really good as well. Crust is on the thinner side. I'd say it's a NY style pizza, which I love. We will definitely order from here again!

Dry cardboard dough. No sauce and bland. The service was subpar. It was a calm ambiance a little rushed vibes.

Based on their rating, I tried a pizza and wings. Not that good. Could have been a bad night, but I won't return.

I'm going to skip past all my typical narrative about the restaurant ambiance, this is pizza, and…read morethe pizza is amazing!!! If you like New Haven style pizza, which is arguably the 'esemplare' of all pizza, then visiting The Little Rendezvous is a MUST visit if you live within 90-min. Plan a trip to visit some store you want to go to, a beach visit or whatever, just find a way to circle The Little Rendezvous into the trip! The crust is thin with a crackery-crunch, the sauce is at a another level and the mozz and roni are high-quality deliciousness! Rendezvous stands tall with any of the well known top-3 pizza joints in New Haven. Dave's score of 9.1 (if you are unaware of the reference, then pizza isn't your thing) is right on point, and I'd go as far as scoring it slightly higher at a 9.2 based on my visit. The building is something out of folklore. The building is all of about 20ft. wide, and when you enter, it is immediate, Steve (owner/chef) is all about the pizza. To be clear, most will consider Rendezvous to be take-out only. There is zero decor, less signs made with cardboard and sharpie notifying you that wait times of hours are real..... so be sure to call ahead. You walk past the most basic seating area of 3-4 small tables with bare walls, and then proceed to walk down an oddly long and narrow sloping hallway which leads you to the service counter/kitchen which houses the 130-year old oven! It's honestly something you could only imagine out of a movie...... the hole in the wall that is creating high-quality, delicious pizzas! Why or how you ask? The answer is simple, Steve! The guy clearly has a passion for making pizza and has dedicated his life to doing so. I met the 'man-the myth-the legend' on my visit, and he kindly even took the time to chat with me. Bucket-list item checked off! Overall score = 5.0!!!

We arrived early on, what I thought was off hours and ordered in person, the wait time was 4 hours. I don't live far so it was easy to come back. The dining area is tight and pretty basic, so plan on wooden bench in limited space if you are dining in. I would also recommend calling way in advance with your order. As far as pizza goes, I have had the opportunity to sample most of the high profile places and understand why this place deserves to be on the list. The crust is pretty fantastic and overall a really good pie. When we went, there was no line. The grab and go was super simple, cash only. Order ahead, plan accordingly, and enjoy.
