Not sure what has happened to Subway but it's done nothing but go downhill since the pandemic. The only good thing is the people who work there (but not the manager/owner). The online ordering rarely works (last time I was charged but the order didn't go all the way through so, not only no food when we went to pick up, I had to contact my cc company for a refund) so you can't use any of the online discounts and, when we tried to use Subway issued coupons, we were denied at this store. The food is still ok (though the bread is *always* stale) but this doesn't make up for these shortcomings and headaches. I think we're done with Subway (here), which is a shame. Closes at 5pm, way too early for folks who work. Port Townsend is a tourist town, peek hrs are during the tourism season May-Sep and you would think that they would be open at least until 7:00. As far as us being locals, it's pretty disappointing since not too many places have a reasonable price and served quickly for those on the go and with families. read more

I avoid this place like the plague. When I paid at the cash register there were ants crawling around the countertop. When I pointed it out to the person taking my money, the woman just shrugged. The staff is usually pretty unfriendly also. After the ants incident I just won't go back. The only positive I can think of is that it is right near the ferry. read more

If you are a fan of wilted, vegetables, lukewarm cold cuts and soggy bread. This place is for you! Add to that disinterested customer service and boring ambience. If this is your idea of a great restaurant, or place to eat, then, congratulations! I should add in that it's pretty spendy for what you get. All of this is just my opinion. Yknow I've been trying to really keep giving them chances over and over. I understand they have a new owner and it's hard especially when you are understaffed. Except when you do have staff and you just refuse to schedule them anymore at a point for unknown reasons(so I've heard from several previous workers). They have their online order service shut down through the subway app which doesn't allow for you to use your points or coupons causing people to waste an extra $10-$15 through DoorDash even though their online system uses DoorDash drives anyway. Usually I understand if 1 or 2 little things are missing on a sandwich and I try not to order when I know lunch or dinner rushes are happening. But I ordered and 5 things were missing off my sandwich! I think I'm finally done giving this slowly dying business my money, only reason I was is because it's the only subway in town. This was our favourite place to go! My husband would always have double meat. On Saturday we came into the port Townsend subway want my husband ordered his sandwich as usual and all of a sudden they don't make them anymore The sub with cold cuts of roast beef turkey ham added bacon instead of beef. This location, across Water Street from the ferry dock, can't be beat for convenience (at least not if you're traveling by ferry). But holy cow! The prices! Higher than downtown Bellevue. The store was clean and the sandwich artists were well-scrubbed PT kids with a nice attitude. I got the new gal, who made my sandwich PERFECTLY but with OBSESSIVE slowness. I know she'll be slinging it just like the rest of them pretty soon, so don't despair. The manager was there and he kept things moving without being a jerk to any of the kids. He seemed like he'd be reasonable enough to work for. There are a few parking spots at the side of the building if you're driving, not walking. Ultimately, you know what to expect here. It was the prices that shocked me, and cost them two stars. Does it really cost that much more to bring shredded lettuce from wherever? read more

I have no issue with the restaurant and eat here often. However the owner emailed me and advised to send me a gift card because of a problem I had. Never received it and repeated calls and emails back to him have got me nowhere...don't promise something if you reneg! Now it is a double negative strike against you. read more

This store in Port Townsend and the Subway in Sequim are reliable places to get GLUTEN FREE bread. The staff knows how to handle the orders to avoid cross contamination from wheat. We've been customers of these 2 stores for years and so appreciate the gluten free option and how careful the employees are with making the sandwiches. We called 15 minutes before closing to order subs from my stepmother's birthday. They were very cordial and excepted the challenge. I when I arrived five minutes later they were in the process of making it. Sadly, in my hurry to leave the house I was not able to grab money for a tip.
