I seriously can't make this up. It feels like they tried really hard for their grand opening and then just kinda got lazy?? The food is simply gross. My bun was super soggy, the veggies tasted old, everything seems like it's just pulled from a freezer, sloppily cooked and served. I took two bites and then went somewhere else. The service is extremely hit or miss. The person in front of me seemed to be friends of the owners so they were really kind, laughing etc and then I got up there and the attitude immediately changed like I was an inconvenience, and the woman smelled like cigarettes.... And don't even get me started on the 3 inch nails that you could SEE were dirty I will never ever go back, I will not be recommending this place to anyone, and I'd highly suggest you do the same. read more

Having known the Dempsey's for most of my life I had to come and support them taking over the business and they took what was left and ran it to the moon. These burgers and jalapeno poppers were perfect. Rarely do you find GOOD poppers, they're either soggy or dry, these were perfectly cooked. The bacon burger was amazing as well, last owners used, in my opinion, an unhealthy glob of mayonnaise, Dempsey's laid it on beautifully. Not only was the food disgusting, we all became ill after eating it. Assuming it was the wilted lettuce because the flavorless liitle hamburger meat was burned to a crisp. They might know how to smoke pot but sadly for whoever fronted them the cash to open up an establishment that sells food for humans has high hopes for the Dempsey boys of holding a job I guess? I've been waiting for years for this place to get back to the way it used to be! But now it's better in my opinion! Walking into the restaurant is night and day difference from even a couple months ago, it's clean and put together. Fresh paint everywhere and doesn't smell like old fry oil anymore! Ordering was fast and the food came out quick and fresh! The French fries are 10/10!! Burgers landing made the overall look of this place slip, but the Dempseys have turned it around for the better! Goodluck finding it open. Been coming here for over 20 years, favorite place as a kid when visiting my grandparents. However, it seems now it's open whenever they choose to be?? Went on a Friday night at 4:53 (hours on the building and online say 11-7 M-Sat) and the doors were locked and the lady inside said they were closed. Went back at noon on Saturday and it was closed. Not sure how a business runs when no one knows if they're open??? I'm from Leavenworth wa which is a destination down and even our prices don't compare with this place. Paying $24.50 before tip for a double with onion rings is pretty steep especially when you get 6 small sized onion rings and a small burger. This is the most expensive "fast food" place I've ever been too. From older reviewers their prices have gone up a bunch with no improvement and even with inflation there is no way I'd even pay this in the city unless you got 1.5x the portions. read more

My recent trip to BL was on a motorcycle. Hadn't been there for about 3 years. My simple order for a Cheeseburger and fries was placed. My $20 bill netted me 1 penny in change. What one assumes to be a roadside burger joint (it is) is now pretends to be a high end, no frills boutique. Even the old picnic tables are gone. The burger was not as I ordered (no sauce) and wasn't as good as they had been over the many years I've been visiting there (Bloomers Landing anyone?) I realize inflation has struck (thanks Biden/Harris), but BL won't be on my radar the next time I need a bite, way too expensive and the quality is not commensurate with the price you pay. read more

We've ordered from Burger Landing many times and always had a great experience and tasty food. Today was a HUGE disappointment. My boyfriend ordered the Hawaiian burger but was given a Hawaiian chicken burger. The chicken was super dried out and grizzled- parts were inedible. I ordered a cheeseburger, no bun. The burger patty ( if you can call it that ) was as tough as leather... it was so dried out and over cooked that I chose to give it to my dog. We were really looking forward to a good meal and instead were charged for inedible slop that should not have been served to anyone. Burger Landing has lost our business. Just had a single Cheeseburger today. Ordered & she said give me 15 minutes, I went & sat outside for 15 minutes, as she was just coming out the door to give me my order. By the time I traveled 5 minutes & took a bite, burger was cold. Very uninspiring cheeseburger. Most places don't have a feature that unique to describe it, but this one certainly has a plane sticking out of the side of the building. Walking in, there is only room to order your burger, fill up your drink, and look at their numerous awards they've won from both the Peninsula Daily News and Port Townsend Leader for best burger / restaurant / milkshake etc. The award for best milkshake makes me scratch my head a little though. There were 3 half gallon cartons of Dari-gold shake mix on the counter that are what goes into the award winning shakes. I ordered one anyways, and it was nothing to write home (or yelp) about. The burger was fantastic for the most part. Bacon had a good savory crunch to it that complimented the burger and cheese perfectly. My only complaint about it was the secret sauce. First of all, 80% of it was on 50% of the sandwich. Second, it was a little too ketchup derivative for my taste. Finally, I like burgers with names... all they have are burgers/cheeseburgers/bacon cheeseburgers, no names with any flare. This place is so good, it's become my gold standard for burgers in Jefferson County. Everything here is delicious. Milkshakes? On point. Burgers? Greasy, delicious pockets of meaty cheesy heaven. Fries? Double fried and crispy to perfection-- so good, they're even good cold, not that you'll ever have leftovers. Really though, the five stars go to the staff who work there. These ladies WORK. Every time I'm in there they are busting their butts, and they always have a great attitude and a friendly smile.
