Mixing politics with customers. Some may oppose.
Darron S.

1 Cash only, must use the ATM inside their home, which requires an additional $4 fee. 2 Hamburger cost $17 plus the $4 ATM fee, so $21 3 Customer service poor. A customer who walked in about 10 minutes after me was served before me. 4 Waitress "tossed" my hamburger in the paper bag to go. No "thank you", no cordial smile. She needs to be coached on polite customer service. 5 No military discount despite them having all military branch flags flying on their home/business. They also have military photos and patches covering the walls inside. 6 Cash-only business inconveniences customers, and the $4 ATM fee is unethical. Businesses often go cash-only to avoid the swipe. This cuts out middlemen entirely and eliminates the hassle of chargebacks. Clearly you guys lease, or own the ATM inside. This could be illegal. A small business operating a cash-only establishment demonstrates Tax and Revenue Manipulation: Some businesses operate entirely or partially off-book, shielding cash revenue from tax authorities to lower their reported income and tax burden. Regardless, we, as customers pay more with your $4 ATM fee. It's not the $4, it's the principle. 7 The middle-aged female waitress should be terminated, if she does not rehabilitate her attitude, and customer service.

We randomly found this little joint on our way through town. It's a classic Pepsi sign burger restaurant. We loved it, the burgers were juicy, pillowy soft buns, tangy sauce, crispy bacon, hell yes! Nice employees, cool vibe It's also cash only. They had a nice staff, we'll go back.

Decent burger joint. If burger joints could qualify for dive bars, Fat Smitty's would be on the top. In fact, Food Network Triple D should do a show here. The prices are better on the peninsula than downtown Seattle but thats to be expected. The portions are gigantic and unless you are like my travel buddy you'll need a To-go box. Juicy patty, fresh veggies, delicious 1000 island dressing, crispy fries, and an amazing peanut butter shake. If you feel up to it, go for the Combo, but good luck!

Looking for a quick bite to eat while on the road? You have to stop here. The burgers are massive! My husband and I stopped here because we saw how cool it looked inside online. It definitely lived up to the expectations. It's small and cozy. I want to think that the owners were working the front and back, as we overheard them talking about scheduling. They're both really nice and very accommodating. You also need to snag a souvenir here to say you stopped in. We got a magnet but they offer key chains and shirts as well. The coffee is also a requirement as it'll warm you up on a cold drive in to port Angeles. Fun spot for pictures too! Also, they are CASH ONLY but offer an ATM to use which was great. We'll be returning on our next adventure.

Hubby and I are on a road trip. This is a great roadside place to stop and eat! Plenty of parking. Small inside but has a lot of character. Service was quick. We ordered burgers with fries (onion rings are an option) and shakes. The shakes were SO flavorful. They have had a tradition for years of guests putting money in the walls and ceiling. When it gets cleared the money goes to charity. Wonderful small business to support!

Pin your dollars, all goes to charity.

Love stopping by this place when we're in Port Townsend. Love to order the Smitty burger w/a side of onion rings, and a blackberry shake. Every visit I pin a dollar bill with the Grandkids name on it.

Love this place. I go there at least once a year since I moved back to Washington in '17. It's a 50 minute drive from Poulsbo and absolutely worth it. Cash only and tax is included.

You know it's gonna be good

A must do place every time I'm at the peninsula. Kind of a dive but the food is excellent. Bring cash.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly server and immediately impressed by the beautiful decor. There's also a bar area off to the right if you're looking to enjoy a drink. After being seated, we had time to look over the menu and decided on the fish and chips and the Northwest Burger. The burger name alone caught our attention, and we had to try it! The food was delicious and freshly made. Both dishes were full of flavor, and the quality really stood out. Combined with the fantastic service and inviting atmosphere, it made for a great dining experience. A bonus for pet owners the restaurant is dog-friendly if you're bringing your furry friend along. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely come back again!

Y'all knocked it out of the park!…read more Brit owned shop offering comfort food that is a perfect complement to its coastal town. Don't miss the salmon chowder! This is likely the most memorable soup I've ever had. Creamy, smooth, with the perfect balance of fresh buttery salmon. If you come for one thing let it be this!!! As a Floridian who's traveled to the New England states, I can confidently say I know seafood, and this chowder still surprised me! The rock crab Mac n cheese was also excellent. Warm, gooey, and bottomless. The crumb layer enhances each bite of that tasteful crab. Again, the perfect balance of the seafood flavor with the rest of the meal, making each bite hit with the same comfort as the first. Staff are friendly and outgoing, and are eager to provide recommendations. The service was quite quick. Plenty of seating though the shop is on the smaller side, it will seat groups of 6 easily. The vibe is so chill. The backdrop of the town and its quaint shops next door felt like I was in a hallmark film.

I was getting ready to leave the area and I didn't want to miss my ferry but I was starving, so I ordered a couple items for pickup and headed over. I chose the Teddy Oggie which is a traditional steak pasty and I also ordered their Big Dawg because I'm a big girl and I'm familiar with the size of a pasty so I thought I might need a little something extra. When I arrived, the vibe was kind of awkward. There was music playing and there were only one or two other people inside. The staff wasn't particularly welcoming and after a few minutes I was happy to grab my food and leave. As I walked back to my car I realized I had a little time before I had to head to the ferry so I stopped at an outdoor table to have a little sample before I headed out. The food was so dry. And I don't mean a little dry, I mean really really dry. The pasty in particular was overwhelmingly crusty with very little moisture or flavor to balance it out. I was hoping for something warm and savory but instead it was just brittle and stale. It tasted old . Like it had been sitting out for a while and then been overcooked . After a few bites I threw it away and felt relieved that I had bought a second item because I hadn't eaten all day. The sausage was just as bad. The bun was so dry it was crunchy. I didn't mind that the sausage skin had a crunch to it, but unfortunately once I got inside it wasn't moist or juicy either. Oh and the little tiny sliver of mustard that they put on top? I could have pushed that all into one bite and it still wouldn't have been enough. I took a few bites and threw that away too. I understand pasties can be crusty and that's part of what makes them a pasty, but there's a huge difference between being so dry and crusty that it's difficult to eat and having a real savory pasty. The whole experience was so disappointing. I don't know if Yelp has made a huge mistake with the rating for this place or if I just caught them on a bad day. I love the idea and I often go to British pub style restaurants when I can but based on my experience here I would not recommend this location.

Cozy, older crowd who come for their favorites and know what they like. The waitstaff are seasoned veterans who keep everything flowing smoothly from start to finish. My husband had his very favorite salad, an "Ahi Tuna Nicoise" ($32): Thai basil encrusted yellow fin tuna, hearts of romaine, hard-boiled egg, grilled asparagus, sesame gochugaru, Korean chili fingerling potatoes, served with Chinese mustard vinaigrette. I had the "Tide & Tail" Sandwich ($22): a panko fried Bering Sea cod filet with wild Oregon Bay shrimp, sharp white cheddar cheese, Red Dog Farms organic mixed greens, preserved lemon-pepper aioli served on a Crusty Crumb Bakery Focaccia, with a choice of side. I chose a small house salad. It was all fantastic! Couldn't have asked for anything more. Will definitely come back on our next road trip. Maybe it'll be less windy and we can eat on the outside patio next time. Fantastic find!!!
