    Spanish coffee

Husband and I strolled into this place on a Thursday evening. The waitress was new to the industry, but she did a good job explaining the meal choices and checking up on us throughout the meal. The ambiance is very much water themed and fit the vibe of the town. The food was delicious, though! The cauliflower appetizer was to die for! Give it a go. I was very happy they served flaming Spanish coffee. It's been so hard to find a place that does this. It's a little spendy but not that much to keep us from going back.

Quench was a nice find to stumble onto; having our little one with us, our other Port Townsend favorite, Sirens, was off-limits to us, but thankfully, this upstairs Hawaiian-adjacent bar and grill is family friendly! As our time was limited (waiting for the ferry, as many often do), and we weren't particularly hungry, my wife and I each ordered a Bloody Mary flight, each choosing four of the six options most to our fancy. Sadly, we both received the exact same four, neither of which entirely matched our selections. The result was a mixed bag of "Yea" and "Nay", some being incredible (the basic Bloody Mary was our collective favorite) and some almost undrinkable (the Bacon Mary was similarly unpleasant to both of us). My wife also ordered a side of Spam, nominally a favorite of hers, preferring the canned variety (strangely enough) over all others. Homemade, or sourced otherwise, she wasn't a fan of it, although I thought it was great, so YMMV with this one. Our little guy also enjoyed it, so I think her palate for processed pork products is purely picky and particular. There were a couple of other minor operational snafus, but nothing to write home (or on the internet) about. In short: the things we ordered, and expected to enjoy (for the most part), we did. Those we didn't, were not as well-received. Overall, Quench didn't quite satisfy our thirst for adventure, but they weren't completely off the map, either. A little more care and attention to detail, and there's no doubt we'd make it a point to stop in for the full meal deal, instead of just a pre-boarding pre-funk.

We were so looking forward to coming here and the views of the water were amazing, and enjoyed that they had an outdoor patio for sunny days! Unfortunately both my husband and I got sick off the food or the drinks we had from here. We had the coconut halibut and the creme brûlée French toast with a Spanish coffee. We found the prices to be fair, but were a bit disappointed in the taste of the food. The customer service was a bit disappointing, as they didn't seem very excited to be there, and weren't helpful with questions we had on the menu. Overall it wasn't a great experience.

Bloody Mary's with ghost pepper! Soo Yummy!

Wonderful place to eat on the water. It's August and it's magical weather. Not super busy at 1:00 pm. A wide verity on the menu. Vegetarian and you can make a gluten free meal too. Great bar area. Have a great time! I gave 4 stars because we waited 20 minutes for our drinks. Albeit, our lunch came right after. I would come again! Clean restroom too!

OMG!! This is it! The only place I want to go out for lunch or dinner in PT. The view! The elegant & fun bar setting! The dedicated dog friendly area! The wait staff & the chef! Amazing in all arenas! Oh, did I mention the best food! Just the right balance of heat & sweet! Thank you Quench! I want to move in!

This place gets 4 stars from me but it's mostly because they gave us non vaccinated domestic terrorists a place to sit and eat. If you can prove vax then you get to sit in the regular restaurant, if not you get to sit in an outer area that's nicely decorated, within the building. Sounds confusing but I think I snapped a couple of pictures to help explain. Anyway, for food we had a panzanella salad and a deluxe cheese - cheeseburger. The salmon on the salad was tasty however the rest of it was a bit salty. The cheeseburger on the otherhand, we found delicious. We wouldn't mind coming back to try brunch. They had a couple of interesting loco Moco options that sounded good - a salmon loco Moco or a halibut one!

    Halibut sandwich

Great restaurant with chill vibe. Halibut sandwich and fries hit the spot. Close to the ferry. Great patio that overlooks the bay. Nice Hawaiian fusion theme to the restaurant - it works!

We had a MARVELOUS experience!…read more My bf, his mom and myself passed by this place on a couple of walks. I've also marked it as a place to visit. It is part of the Staybridge Suite hotels here and this hotel in general, is always packed! We finally know why! The hotel inside is beautiful -- woodwork and a cozy ambience! The 5 x 5 bar & bistro is new. What it was before was an old theater. Matthew was a one-man show with two ladies helping him with carrying the done orders to the tables. It was actually quiet on a Wednesday when we had went. Only 3 tables occupied. We missed happy hour and settled on the regular menu. I had the chicken tenders (4-pc) with lemon pepper seasoning (oh my -- this was delicious!) along with sweet potato waffle fries. I also got the hummus plate -- fresh veggies and the hummus had feta cheese and olive oil too, yummy! My bf had the pepperoni pizza with cheddar cheese and topped with green onions. I had a taste of it and it was pretty good! My bf's mom had the fish burger with a side salad. Matthew was so kind and made a mental note of the orders. He even remembered my bf's mom saying 'no cheese' and he doubled checked with her after looking at the fish burger. Real nice guy and his service with the ladies was warm and delightful! They're forming an events room hall that will be done soon that used to be a pool area (so yes, no swimming pool anymore). They also have a nice patio area with long chairs and a nice mini bar/grills in the middle. I also had a limoncello cooler and my bf's mom has red wine too. We'd come back again!

In short Great deals on great drinks, food is really solid,…read moreand the setting is nice and friendly. Only drawback is that the hours are limited. In long Lately we've been seeking out places that are literally quieter--less volume on the music, more space between the tables, and so on. I'd been wanting to check out 5x5, anyway, since it's the only spot around with an exactly perfect rating score. It looked like it'd fit the bill for a low-key place, and off we went. We came in shortly after they opened on a Saturday (4:00 PM). You're in a larger business-traveler hotel here, aimed at Boeing and Boeing-sub folks traveling for work. The building looks kinda generic from outside, but there's plenty of parking, and the lobby has a high-ceilinged atrium vibe for sure. Nice floor tiles, nice carpet, tasteful furniture. Everything's in perfect shape. You don't feel the lounge vibe right away, but there's a gigantic fireplace ahead of you, warming both sides of the room from the middle. Around that, there are lots of sturdy, shiny tables under the lofty ceilings. Off to the side, there's a little lounge area, then another one. Everything in the lounge is bar-height seating, and there are a few flatscreens, probably showing the game. Most folks are in here, sitting around the bar in the middle of the room. We posted up at a table just outside the lounge. Lindsey was behind the bar, and cheerfully answered every single question we had about food and all their cocktails. She's super friendly and makes a great drink for sure. She seems to have a bunch of regulars who aren't staying at the hotel, which is a great sign, no doubt. We checked out the warm pretzel--such a decadent treat. The waffle fries (and especially the aioli that came with them) were awesome. The pizza was a great choice; we added pickled onions to the Speedway. The crust could be a little crisper but we took home what we didn't finish and it's great here, too. Service on food and drinks was really quick. The cocktails here can be really creative, and there are lots of classics with house twists on the recipe. They even have a pisco sour they've tweaked--that's a fair bit of work for a bartender to make mid-shift. We got 5 great drinks and 3 nice plates of food for $96, and I don't think we even ordered anything from the HH menu. This is a very easy place to add to the rotation.

I remembered that their drinks and bourbon selection/pricing used to be incredible. As with all things lately, prices have gone up on some of their rarer pours. The standard basic cocktails though were still reasonable and decently priced for the location. The atmosphere is great and service was pretty quick. The outdoor patio is still there which was a nice addition from 2019/2020 era. Some of their bourbons are still reasonably priced. Their food is pretty good. Would recommend the tacos, the burger, and carne asada. The nachos were not particularly for me, and also seemed to come out cold. Seemed to have cheese sauce instead of actual cheese. It was a cold day however. This place is mainly great for happy hour after work, but will come back and try dinner another time. Staff is great though. Really quaint and awesome spot to post up. good food, good service, good drinks, good selection, and still better pricing than most bars with what they have to offer. Finally a week ago, I was able to have two orders, one that was a BBQ flavor and the other traditional hot. We also ordered a basket of tater tots. This was the best item for our entire evening by far. Such a generous order, too. We didn't think we'd finish them when they arrived, but given the quality of the wings (not so great), we did mow them all up. The dings: well, the wings were just meh. Fatty, not crispy, smoke flavor ok...but neither the BBQ nor the hot were particulary good. Big ding: ZERO white wine. Last time, ok, there was no Chardonnay, I can accept that (barely...this is NOT a Chardonnay kind of place). But this time, red only. Apparently they don't stock any white...I can see where it might not be a big draw, but hey, just buy a BOX of it, keep it in the fridge and someone will order it in the 30 days the box holds its freshness. Second big ding: NO darker, heartier beer than lagers and IPAs. Not even an Alaskan Amber in a bottle. I guess if the guests don't drink it, then why order it. We probably won't come back except for when the Badd Doggs Blues Society plays, but couldn't we BRING in what we want to drink and pay a corkage? Or do we have to go out in the parking lot and sneak a shot? I really WANT to support this place, but, as of now, except for the tots, I'm not sure what I'd come here for. And that's not enough.
