Burns,OR May 2026…read more We came on a Wednesday night and there were only three other tables that were occupied. At 6:15 all the tables are filled. The restaurant is very clean. The floors, the food, the tables, the chairs. I am very impressed. My husband and I ordered a half chicken salad to share and we also split the chicken Alfredo. The Chicken salad was large. I found it hard to believe it was only a half portion. The salad came with a very large portion of shredded torn, hot chicken. The lettuce was Romaine and it had diced tomatoes with shredded cheese slices of cucumbers, large slices of red onion, and croutons. It was supposed to come with a sliced egg, but there was none on the salad. The chicken Alfredo was a very large portion. There was more chicken on the salad then in the chicken Alfredo. The Alfredo sauce tasted smoky. I swear there was a half a pound of pasta in that dish. Like all the other portions of food it is very large. They serve fresh bread with butter to the table. The bread is delicious. The waiter said they make it here. We were offered dessert but we chose you to decline. They have a display case of three different kinds of pies, bars, chocolate cake, cheesecake, and more. My only complaint is that the booths are so far from the table. I had to eat at the end of my bench. But I love that the backs of the booths are so very tall. You can't see your neighbor behind you. I was finished eating and pushed my plate away. My husband was still eating his food. The waiter came up to see if we needed anything else. As we were talking to him, an older woman came by interrupted our conversation with the waiter and started to take all of our plates. My husband was not finished eating, but since she piled the plates on top of each other, we were now done. Perhaps in the future, she should ask if we are finished before removing them from the table. The staff is friendly. The food is ginormous and delicious. This is definitely a place if I were passing through I would stop and eat again. I give this restaurant 4.7 stars.

Everything else after that was eh, so so. For starters, apparently they had just ran out of bananas which meant my favorite banana split was not an option. Brownies were also out of commission, as were anything strawberry. Hmmm. I finally settled on a small chocolate cheesecake blizzard. Honestly, the blizzard was really good but I was a bit upset that I had to settle on my decision due to this establishment having limited options. Amazing location, right off the road if you are simply getting through town. My recommendation would be to have expectations on the lower side and apparently from the previous reviews, running out of things in stock seems to be a trend at this store.

This establishment is currently rated at 2-stars, ie BELOW AVERAGE. Quality of food however is failing far worse than a D grade. And has been for a long while. Years. Patrons eat here Only because it is one of two fast-food-drive-thru options in the remote rural town of Burns. The unimproved quality would support the owner&management privy to this, as many other reviews outline less than average experiences--and DQ ain't cheap, yet have not improved the experience for their customers, aware they do not have other drive-thru options, especially with as frequent as McDs allows their soft serve to be down. Do better. Your community deserves it. Of what I was presented in my recent visits you are very likely operating with health code violations. It's a regular burger. You are a fast-food burger joint. How do you time and time again do it so awful?? You're not even consistent with what the disappointment/issue is. Ordered a burger this evening. 845 pm, on a Friday. We were the only car in the drive-thru. No other vehicles in the parking lot. THE BURGER WAS MUSH. I have not ever seen such a sight. Was not even an inch thick as had been mutilated in a microwave. Every part of it, texture was mush. CHEESE MELTED TO NONEXISTANCE. LETTUCE TRANSLUCENT. And it had no flavor, unless moist-warmness is a flavor. It was moist, every ingredient, as the nuking cooked the tomato to be juice. Several weeks back, same single burger, but had requested extra lettuce. Was served a varying warm-hot-cold sandwich with a literal cube of compact lettuce heart. That being the only lettuce on the burger. Time before that there was so much sauce I could taste nothing but mayonnaise. Cold mayonnaise. There was no heat to the sandwich whatsoever. Pretty sure that is a health violation for a burger. I would have simply shared my experiences with the store manager via private message but their website does not make this an option. I highly recommend whoever is in charge of food quality and food safety for this DQ location do a deep dive reviewing customer feedback, as your isolated location is the only element keeping you in business -- part of the reason Why locals complain not of the crud you serve. An eating establishment is not sustainable with continued practices increasing the probability of a serious mishandled food incident occurring. Temperature, in storage and throughout prep to service, is incredibly important. You can't just nuke the nasty away. Please, insist on better quality be served.
