For this town, this BBQ is great! It's the only Bbq that isn't fast food in the town. The portions are great, prices are great & excellent service! The servers are very friendly and stay on top of their tables. The BBQ sauce could definitely be improved but the meat itself is very juicy and tender; definitely not dry which is great. Fantastic Arkansas BBQ! I stopped on my way to Wapanocca Lake to get some authentic BBQ. The ambiance was divey and the staff were friendly but no smiles. Great customer service and the food was amazing. Generous proportions of amazing 'cue! The Loaded Mac and Cheese was creamy goodness with loads of pulled pork on top. The pulled pork sandwiches were stacked with pulled pork and the best slaw. Beans were yummy as well. Don't forget to order the nacho platter piled high with barbecue goodness topped with jalapeños. Fried pickles were a treat as well! The sauces were outstanding especially the slow burn. Don't miss this stop on your way to wherever you're headed! Absolutely the best 5 Star review I have ever tried and exceeded the reviews. Great Memphis BbQ place been open 8 weeks according to the bartender. I got the Hawaiian Pulled pork sandwich with the Jalapeno Pineapple slaw. There #1 Entree stellar and decided to get the Bbq Spaghetti for my side. A Smokey BbQ Marinara sauce with a heaping of pulled pork on top of that as well. Great flavors. They had their Mild, Sweet and Slow Heat BbQ sauces to supplement and all tasted great. The Sweet the best but the slow heat not ridiculously hot more like a spice hot. I would recommend this place right next to the Dollar Tree, East of Marion Arkansas. It may look just like another shopping mall storefront restaurant but they got great tastes inside. Stop in if your passing through as was from St Louis to Dallas. We stopped here on our way to Memphis. Had heard they had good BBQ and a Pro Wrestling ring. Our waitress happened to be Stumpy's wife, and she told us the wrestling ring was still down from the holidays, but the BBQ was excellent and she wasn't kidding. This place is nothing fancy, honestly we almost drove past it because the signage is not great, but tucked in the corner next to a Dollar Tree we found it. Flavors were great, excellent Memphis BBQ traditions. Wasn't a big fan of the BBQ spaghetti but everything else we had was delicious. Their homemade sauces were fantastic. Portions are HUGE and price was reasonable. Only complaint is their chairs are small and uncomfortable, not great for bigger, taller people. But it may be yours & you just need to try it for yourself as alot of folks really like it. My pulled pork was on the dry side & spouse's bbq bologna was so thick a slice, you didn't get the taste of the char. Sauces were on the sweet side & we like a more vinegary style sauce. Portions were very generous, service was friendly & efficient. Restaurant was clean. Have a variety of menu items if not into BBQ. You just need to try Stumpy's for yourself. read more

What a great place! It's only minutes from west Memphis and well worth it. The owner met us at the door and welcomed us in. Kelly was just down home friendly and let us know that the brisket was sold out , we opted for the pile driver sampler platter and man was it worth it. The pork was tender and Smokey (a tad dry), the ribs were delicious and tender, even the bbq bologna was great. The Mac and cheese was my favorite side of all. We went back a second time and they were sold out of brisket again (perhaps they should do a second cook for more).. overall the food and friendly people make our experiences memorable. We even brought them our old license plates to hang on the walls!! read more

Found while traveling from LA to WI. Worth the small detour off of 40 to enjoy the hospitality, service and food! We had sausage & cheese platter (can sub for bologna too if you want) and pulled pork. We took smoked bologna to go for our late night arrival back in WI! My husband and I just stopped at Stumpy's Backyard BBQ in Marion, AR while on a road trip, and we were blown away by the food! Doug had the brisket sandwich, and I had the Hawaiian pork sandwich. Both meats were full of flavor, and we played with the 3 sauces offered: Slow Heat, Sweet, and Mild. All were so good, we used them equally. They have two kinds of slaw: regular and pineapple. Both were standouts. In addition to the great food, the decor and ambience were fun, classic, and inviting. Baseball, car racing, and music covered the walls, and we added our names to the back wall where patrons can leave their mark. We met the owners, Stumpy and Kelly, and were served by Stacy. So friendly! And the service was too notch. If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and pull over. This place is not to be missed. Bet you'll see it on TV one of these days.
