A Seafood Feast ! The Seafood Shack was a great find in the Marion Area. I was looking for an alternative to the chain restaurants in the area. I found the Seafood Shack while Googling restaurants in the area. When I arrived at this quaint local spot, it was not quite that busy, and I was seated and served right away. I let the server know that it was my first time at Seasfood Shack and they took their time and helped walk me through the menu. My choices that night started with crispy and tasty fried crab that came with two sauces for dipping. The crab was not too greasy, and the coating was fantastic. My main course was a surf and turf special with Crab Legs and a Ribeye steak. The Crab portion was a healthy size and very filling. The steak was surprisingly good and cooked just the way I asked. The service was great and I received a very good meal at a reasonable price.

Table service, a domestic beer selection, friendly staff and AMAZING OYSTERS!! The catfish and the frog legs were great too but try those Cajuns baked oysters!! The jalepeno may surprise you a little but it is worth the risk!!

Service and food was excellent!! Prices were fair. The inside looks a lot smaller than the outside of the building. Would like more options for seating such as booths. I will definitely be going back!

As we were heading back to TN, we checked out this place. On a Saturday afternoon, it was not too packed. We were seated immediately and our server came very quickly. We ordered the gator bites to start. The menu has a decent selection of seafood, but the Korean bbq caught my attention. We ordered it and a basket of shrimp and catfish. As we waited for our food, we noticed the specials on the wall. I wish the waitress would have mentioned it because I love halibut. The place is not too loud and would make for a great family gathering. The gator bites were seasoned and were fried, but weren't greasy at all. I would order them again in a heartbeat. The catfish was amazingly fresh but lacked seasoning. The shrimp were mediocre at best. The star of the show was the Korean bbq. My short ribs were flavorful and juicy. Staff was sweet and considerate. I would try this place again, if I could because all their sauces are house made. Which may mean those seafood boil bags could be pretty epic...but those ribs...so good!

Atmosphere was a redecorated Shoney's or something. What is disliked, a lot, was the service. Although other tables near me were served very courteously, the same waitress was a bit rude, but more so "no interested" in waiting the table. Flipped the menu down. Got the so so tasting scallops, but ZERO help after that. She never checked in on us, never asked us how anything was tasting, had to stop her twice, wants to ask for utensils, another time to ask for a refill, asking for refill is when she slapped our check down on the table and tried to walk off, and I say "excuse me, excuse me"... then weirdly when she brought my check, she reached over from the other Booth, not the side of our table, taped me on my shoulder and shoved my credit card and their seat up in my face. I always tip nicely, 20 to 25%. But this time I tipped accordingly and wrote a note to the manager. The waitress could not have been more disinterested in serving me as a bystander on a street. Too many other options with a short drive over to Memphis, I won't be back to this place. If you visit here and your waitress is mid 20s with extensions, literally touching the floor, you might want to ask for another server

Now, the main reason I visited Southland was for the buffet--and man, it was amazing. I sat there for over an hour enjoying fresh, hot, delicious food. The buffet was very well put together: clean, well-staffed, and full of great hospitality. Southland Casino Resort literally has everything you need for a great experience. Plus, being only about 10 minutes from downtown Memphis gave my partner and me even more places to explore. We can't wait to visit again soon.

The food however was honestly meh (in my opinion). I got a creole dish and to be fair my dish looked beautiful. The plating was 10/10 but the taste for me left something to be desired. After eating this dish I questioned if I even like creole sauce because it really just wasn't that good. If this is a preference issue, I honestly don't know. I also thought the charcuterie appetizer had a weird mix of items on it from club crackers, to meat and cheese, and random veggies. Not bad but just kind of a weird mix. My husband ordered the salmon and he said it was good, not the best he's had but it was good. Other friends of ours got the white fish among the many other dishes. I did have a salad with these apples on it which was incredibly yummy. I will say though my dish looked amazing some of the other dishes were not plated well. Not to nitpick but to want to be considered a more upscale restaurant which means charging guest more money than say a local Applebee's then knowing how to appropriately garnish or drizzle sauce to elevate at plate is important (see my picture of the chicken dish). All and all not my favorite restaurant but definitely not the worst!!

There was a crawfish festival going on right outside its doors so I checked out some vendors while waiting. When our number was called I headed back to what was a literal zoo! It was so noisy that I couldn't converse with my husband. One customer (hyena) was talking and laughing so loudly from the back bar area that her voice carried to the front and startled me every time she opened her mouth. Just uncouth and inconsiderate. I had seen lots of people outside eating boiled crawfish that was pouring out of the styrofoam containers but my husband suggested I get it here. It was on the menu for $9/ 1/2lb and $15/lb but with a minimum pound order, and today bc they were competing with the festival, they upped the price to $20/lb. I had never had whole crawfish but it looked delicious from the outside vendors. I thought my husband was splitting the order with me but he ordered the Cajun fried rice and a grouper fish sandwich. He also ordered the soft shell crab appetizer. It was okay. It was 1 crab, maybe. I was so disappointed when my food arrived in a bag, especially then learning how to twist off the head of the crawfish and discovering there isn't much to them, so in essence it's a pound of useless head. I also thought the crawfish was bland and not worth the effort. Not the restaurant's fault that I didn't know better. My husband said the grouper upset his stomach and tasted like an oil sandwich. To make matters worse, we sat next to a table of 4 young people cursing and on a video call, 1 who made me hyper alert about my surroundings. I was just turned off by the environment and couldn't enjoy my food so I took the entire meal with us so my husband could eat it later. $80 bill for a meal we didn't enjoy and a loud and uncouth environment.
