We were Jonesing for malted milk shakes, and this place was retro so we expected real ice cream and machines that looked liked,you know, old-fashioned milk shake mixers. Au Contraire! This was soft serve and they did have ice cream so they kept asking, "One, two, or three scoops?" To which we replied with three fingers and a grin. But please add malt was met with they could sprinkle it on top. To which our smiles became frowns. "Can't you just shake it up in the glass or in the mixer? We queried. No that would be soft serve was the answer. They do have real ice cream too. We were a bit slow on the uptake, and our sweet counter girl, Emily, who was in her 20s but looked 15, patiently explained the ice cream came in a cup and the milk shakes were soft serve only, because evidently their shake machine can't handle the hard real stuff. We caved, got soft serve. We wanted malts not ice cream sprinkled with malt. *sigh.* Bella, Michael and Kennedy looked on, in training with our youthful trainer, and Kennedy remarked, "You're living on the edge," It was her first day. Looks like a classic small-town diner when you walk in--very typical for Arkansas. The parking lot was full, which I thought was a good sign, but inside the dining area was empty. It seems most people order at the counter and take their food to go. There's no table service. Price-wise, it was $22 for a half-pound burger with tater tots (no drink included). The tots were fine, but nothing special--maybe 10 in the box, which felt a little light. The burger itself was huge. I expected two thin patties for the half-pound, but instead it came with two massive patties stacked together. Honestly, each one could have passed for a half-pound on its own. I ended up taking one off and eating it later because it was just too much at once. The diced onions were okay, the sauce was decent, and overall the flavor was good, though not quite as "amazing" as some reviews make it sound. The biggest plus was how easy it was to order online. I had to step out to take a call, so I ordered from my car using their website and paid with Apple Pay--super convenient. Next door there's a place you can grab a beer if you want one with your burger, though I wouldn't recommend it--the place smelled like cigarettes and felt run-down. Overall: solid, oversized burger, fair but not great sides, and easy online ordering. Worth trying if you're hungry, but nothing that blew me away. read more

A colleague and I decided to meet here for a weekday breakfast meeting. It was my very first time trying the breakfast. He hadn't had their breakfast in years. We were both disappointed. The three egg omelette that I received was half the size as his. I guess that mine was made with quail eggs? He received undercooked pancakes. The batter was still raw. See photos. This joint doesn't employ wait staff. There are food runners who really don't have a vested interest in ensuring that customers are properly served. We mentioned the problems to an employee, and all we received was a "sorry, guys." At least they remade the pancake. It was mentioned that they had a new cook. It's a solid burger and shake joint, especially in Marion. Food and service are both consistent. It's a fun throwback feel as well. Ate here for the 1st time and got a meat sandwich and onion rings.. While eating the sandwich I was chewing and bit something hard and it cracked my molar and broke a piece of tooth and filling off in the back.. I spit out what I had thinking it was grizzle and then realized what happened .. Everyone was friendly but food order wasn't correct, fries were cold and the young employees are just there for when you need something. No initiative to do anything extra other than take an order. Ok, so I searched for Shake Shack wanting the chain. Ended up here. Not what I was looking for but was pleasantly surprised! Place smelled good from the outside and we were hungry. Well this was a super cool place in a small town. Talked to the owner who has had it for 45 years. Great people with great food! You could tell immediately this was a local favorite. I had a group of 6 people. 4 of which were starving teenagers! They immediately migrated to order food and shakes. The burgers were all big and juicy and great toppings! Southern charm at it's finest! I was so taken aback by the charm and hospitality that I forgot to get pictures of my food! You walk in and the cafe had the feel of an old timey cafe. John Wayne and Elvis nostalgia hung on the wall to look at while oldies are playing in the background. It's like I'd stepped back in time to a 50s soda shop! I love it! The gal who rung us up was so friendly! Everyone wanted to know where we'd come from and where we were headed. The owner took time to come and chat with us and told us "y'all come back now" as we left. The kids all got shakes of course, which were thick, rich, and flavorful! I ordered a pizza burger, which was a fried veal patty with mozzarella cheese and toppings. The fries were perfect, nice and brown and crispy. Just how I like them! The first thing you will notice about Tacker's is that the interior walls are filled with tons of Elvis decor. It might be outside of Memphis, but they sure do still love Elvis in Marion. The staff were friendly and the service was pretty quick. There is plenty of seating inside. Overall, Tacker's gets a very solid 4 stars from me for solid food at affordable prices, with interesting decor. This place was SO good. I'm even excited for my leftovers and have threatened my children's lives if they touch them. Haha! I ordered the country fried streak with okra and BBQ Mac n cheese, my partner ordered a burger, the teen ordered the loaded Mac n cheese, and the littles got chicken tender and corn dog baskets. We also got fried pickles to share before, and the cookie cake with ice cream to all share for dessert. The brisket Mac and cheese is amazing. The brisket is moist and falls apart so perfectly in the Mac and cheese. I could hardly finish it though and am really excited to heat it up again later. The fried pickes were battered in cornbread batter which was delicious, and the okra was also pretty legit. Omg, the cookie cake. It was thick yet incredibly moist. They warmed it up and added ice cream which made it a perfect cookie cake. We are strongly considering coming back for breakfast too tomorrow while we're in town. WOW! Great experience! This place is the closest thing you can get to in Arkansas from Memphis. It is in the middle of nowhere and it is great. The place is huge and there plenty of parking. There is literally all kinds of different foods for your liking. The menu is immense! From burgers to grilled chicken, patty melts to the options for desserts. It was a little hard to choose on what to eat here. I had a fish sandwich because it is was they had just made fresh and with a Yelp check-in they had a free small smoothie or milk shake..and with that there were so many flavors to choose from. The sandwich was tasty and you can taste the freshness of the fish. I wanted to get sides, but I also wanted to possibly try a dessert. For my free shake I got Nutter Butter flavor. I don't typically get shakes, but what the heck right? By this point I was full and didn't get anymore dessert like I had anticipated.
