It's interesting to me that this location has 3 stars yet the drive thru is out to the road and almost every parking spot is filled on a Monday around 11:45. Y'all say you don't like it, but here you are! Ha! And I am here too! Because this fast food Mexican is DELICIOUS! This is obviously not Taco Bell nor is it gourmet but it is tasty. It's unique and it uniquely Albuquerque. In the drive thru there are 2 menu signs, the first is basically just food with no prices, the second where you speak into the speaker has prices. It's reasonable. But to feel full you might need to order more than 1 Stufy. Just in case your reading this and you don't live in Albuquerque a Stufy is a stuffed sopapilla, if you don't know what a sopapilla is - it's like a fried bread pocket that you fill with various ingredients. The food if good, on the level of Taco Bell or an old school taco truck.

Stufy's. Stuffed sopapilla, #11. Shredded chicken, lettuce, and green chile.

Friday. August 9, 2024. Lunch. I fondly remember the Stufy's of old. Piping hot, large, fluffy overstuffed sopapillas at very reasonable prices. With all the out-of-control inflation, those cheap prices are long gone. I guess prices are going up so fast, the drive through sign with the printed prices was out of date. Guys, please update your sign. The sign stated the #9- green chile, refried beans, ground beef, lettuce and cheese was $6.97. I paid $7.25. Sign stated #11- green chile, shredded chicken and lettuce was $7.49. I paid $7.79. In addition, the drive through line had about 10 cars ahead of me, spilling out onto Candelaria. I didn't mind that so much, it's a mark of a good restaurant to be that busy. Service seemed fast enough. Sopapillas came out hot. They aren't as fluffy or as stuffed with ingredients as I remembered. Don't get me wrong, they were still tasty, although the green chile could have been a bit hotter. I'm subtracting two stars for the out-of-date menu. It annoyed me.

    Arrrggghhh yummy

If they were any faster with the service I'd be worried however it is beyond me how long it takes to get an oder for a number 11 the also goes for when it's slow watch out i may bite your arm off when you serve me still will go cause holding me food hostage gets me going crazy for me stuffys

I really like this little restaurant. This is only the 3rd time I've been here and all 3 times have been some great cheap eats! This time I had the gorilla burger and it's huge. It also comes with fries and two cups of chile for dipping. The service was great, friendly and fast! I recommend this place if you are in the area. Two thumbs up from me

Called in the order and verified they had cheese. Went to pick up order and they were out of cheese they said.

Put order in for queso chips and combination plate didn't get no cheese on my chips because they said they ran out after I just called and verified they had cheese when I put my order in. They instead ask my husband if it's ok to just give me salsa. combination plate did not have taco. Nothing but excuses from manger. Will not order again.

Delicious hand held stuffed sopaipillas! I had the #9 & #11. Great tasty flavor pairing and nice spicy heat on the green chile. Convenient drive thru. Good prices

Stopped by to grab a bite to eat on Friday morning. Greeted by a friendly staff. Ordered the carne adovado stuffed sopapilla. The meat was very flavorful, but the sopapilla was too dense and a little difficult to eat. I want to go back and try some entrees, maybe it'll be a better experience.

    Wet lettuce

Never tried it but always heard that Stufys was so great. Finally tried it today. NEVER AGAIN. Just look at the picture of my so-called guacamole. I paid for a whole pint of garbage. There was literally no avocados in it! It was wet lettuce mixed with some veggies. Unbelievable!!!! Plus the food was so salty I could barely eat it.

Gorilla burger. Huge, Delicious, And way too big for me to eat by myself!

Yes, I get the hype, and in my opinion, totally worth it!…read more I came here on a Sunday night and they were very busy. The place is huge so they have plenty of tables available. I stood on line to order for maybe 10 minutes or so. I had the Carne Adovada Burrito, one soft Beef Taco, and rice and beans. Everything was excellent and tasted delicious. The price was very reasonable. I wish we had a restaurant like this on Long Island.

Directly across the street from University of New Mexico's main entrance, this place is packed when school is in session. This place is huge, but not at first glance. Walk into the retro-looking, Western themed dining room, and you'll see a huge menu board above the order counter. There is are several freestyle soda machines in the middle of the room. There are little digital screens in the corner where you watch for your order number and a counter in the corner where you go pick up your food. It's not until you go into the next room that you discover there is another "next room," and then another. There is a lot of art on the walls, including several John Wayne pictures. The girl at the counter who took our order was an absolute ray of sunshine--so friendly and sweet. We ordered the green chili cheeseburger with onion rings and the daily special which is the "green pile-up" (beans, hash browns, scrambled egg, and green chili beef). The good came our talented quickly, and was quite yummy. Frontier is an Albuquerque classic. If it old? Yes, but it has a huge faithful following, not including the things of UNM students that pack this giant diner during the school year. It may not be a "must try" for some, but if you want Albuquerque nostalgia, this is your place. Btw--it's pretty darn cheap,!

We know good Mexican food, as we are from San Diego, and wanted to try the southwest fare. WHAT AN AMAZING CHOICE! The lovely hostess was charming, engaging and sweet (wish i had her name) and our waiter (Edgar) was authentic, personable and fun to chat with. We had been at a movie and had eaten a bit too much popcorn so we did not order a lot. The three of us shared the free blue corn (not fried) chips with three salsa samples. We then shared a salad and the amazingly good four taco sampler. Thank you Herencia (Enrique the owner, and staff) for this wonderful evening.

Server didn't check on us too often and let someone at the table run out of water for 5 minutes until we asked for more. I had the pork al pastor ($26). It was cooked well and seasoned really nicely. Lobster enchiladas were nice but unique just to be unique. I asked for recommendations and all of the options were the most expensive on the menu which was odd to me. If they have a cheaper lunch menu it might be worth trying, but I think the dinner isn't worth it for the price. Four entrees and a soda was $130 plus tip.

My parents lived in ABQ for years and always thought that the atmosphere was great, but the food was so-so. However, on this instance, we all thought the food was quite good. Flavorful carne adovada, although it was a bit tough. Red chile sauce was spicy but had great flavor. The green chile sauce was hot and tasty. Posole was also good. The gold margaritas were also good - to anyone complaining about the price - at $14.50, the price is very fair considering the cost of ingredients. If you want a cheap junk margarita that is more sugar than anything else, go somewhere else! Our gripe... The place is huge and has an abundance of great places to seat guests. We had a pretty large group - 7 people celebrating a family reunion of sorts. However, they sat us right next to the bussing station that had noisy carts, dishwashers, and other distractions. It was so loud, it was hard to hear the person across the table. There were at least 10 other tables that they could have seated us at! It seems to me that this area should be used only when the restaurant is completely full. This seems to be a poor management decision rather than the fault of the servers or hosts.
