Enchiladas with red and green chili AKA Christmas style.

Just YUMMY! I had the beef enchiladas Christmas style. The service was also great! I will be going back.

Yikes, the customer service has gone down so much. I walked in and waited 10 minutes to have my order taken for a to-go order. The only two female cashiers completely ignored me for the entire time. And when one of the cashiers came up she helped someone behind me in line and completely ignored me. I waited another five minutes until her female coworker walked up BUT it wasn't to greet me or take my order. She walked up to me because she was grabbing menus for a different group. I told her I was interested in ordering. She said okay and walked away again. I'm sure they were busier than usual, but still really unusual behavior. She finally came over to take my order and I asked her for an estimate of how long the wait would be to get my food. She said she didn't know but that it wouldn't be anytime soon. I want to also note I was the only person waiting to have my order taken. I left and don't plan to ever go back.

Expensiiiiiive....and really bad menudo. I posted a video and picture showing the glob of fat in the menudo. Omg...It felt slimy going down with each bite. The food was just okay - nothing stood out. $13 for 3 tacos without rice / beans was crazy to me. Again, way too expensive, food was just okay, menudo was simply bad.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], but I noticed there was only one server for the entire establishment. While she handled everything admirably, it was clear she was overwhelmed. The food itself was good overall, though it could benefit from more seasoning. Additionally, the arrachera lacked the tenderness I expected, resembling a less premium cut. We also got a fly in our water the server was apologetic and brought us out fresh fruit.

    Chile Relleno

We went on a Thursday around 6 PM and there was no wait. Our server was confused when I ask how the Chile Relleno was prepared but she retrieved the manager and my question was answered. The Relleno was grilled and was very tasty. I also liked the chips and salsa. Plenty of parking available and the dining area is simple but plenty of comfortable seating.

Ok so, they started strong with the chips and salsa. And I mean strong- that salsa was fantastic. Then the appetizer to try for us was the guacamole, which fell flat. No flavor and pretty small amount (the picture is deceiving- lots of lettuce under, very little guac). The fijitas apparently had wonderful flavor on the shrimp and beef. My plate had no flavor on anything besides the beef. And I got one red and one green cheese enchilada to compare which I'd like more. The rice was drenched in grease. The beans were beans. After how much flavor the salsa had, I was pretty disappointed with my plate. The waitress was nice. The place was nice and clean overall. For me, I doubt I'll return.

Cute little Mexican cafe for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Colorful interior, friendly staff. Good choices including mariscos and machaca. Machaca is difficult to find in the 505. Chips arrived promptly with a tasty fresh red salsa. I had cheese enchiladas, my husband had a breakfast with machaca. One of his favorites. He said it was a little bland, but well done otherwise. My enchiladas came out with the cheese unmelted. I asked for a few, they promptly brought me a fresh new set with the cheese melted. They were good. Good food. Not outstanding but good solid Mexican fare. Was full of patrons, so popular in this area.

The food is absolutely delicious. I'm not a big sea food guy but even I struggled with putting down the ceviche.

    Barbados tacos with charro beans
    Anna S.

Both my husband and I really enjoyed our meal. I had the barbacoa tacos with charro beans (you can get the tacos without the beans but worth the extra dollar in my opinion). My husband had the chicken fajitas and loved them as well. The server also brought us chips with salsa and queso which was delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Friendly staff, quick service and cute inside![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Very easy to find located in a small part of the neighborhood we parked on a side street and walked in. We were greeted right away and told to take a table. When we receive the menu, it had no prices on it, and although the menu is somewhat limited, the variety was a good sampling there is something for everyone. I ordered the QuesoBirria tacos and my eating companion, had a cheeseburger and fries. They delivered a basket of fried potatoes slices that were a little slice of heaven before our meal. The restaurant was busy. Every table was full, and people kept streaming into the restaurant to pick up to go orders. A food arrived shortly after we ordered it. The cheeseburger was handmade served with fresh cut onions and tomatoes on a potato type bun with loads of fries the tacos were over the top! They brought out two types of salsa, freshly made a red sauce and a green sauce. My favorite was the green sauce. It was a little bit spicier than the red. The flavor was next level. I took two of these to go home because they were so large. You could definitely share this with someone. I did read all the plaques on the wall in the restaurant. The chef has won awards and lots of newspaper articles were posted about this location. I highly recommend would certainly visit again and by the amount of people that were streaming in most seemed to be regulars I guarantee this place is going to be around for a long time so happy that we visited this spot. It's a pleasure writing a review, especially since the staff were hard-working and we are very attentive.

Directly across the street from University of New Mexico's main entrance, this place is packed when school is in session. This place is huge, but not at first glance. Walk into the retro-looking, Western themed dining room, and you'll see a huge menu board above the order counter. There is are several freestyle soda machines in the middle of the room. There are little digital screens in the corner where you watch for your order number and a counter in the corner where you go pick up your food. It's not until you go into the next room that you discover there is another "next room," and then another. There is a lot of art on the walls, including several John Wayne pictures. The girl at the counter who took our order was an absolute ray of sunshine--so friendly and sweet. We ordered the green chili cheeseburger with onion rings and the daily special which is the "green pile-up" (beans, hash browns, scrambled egg, and green chili beef). The good came our talented quickly, and was quite yummy. Frontier is an Albuquerque classic. If it old? Yes, but it has a huge faithful following, not including the things of UNM students that pack this giant diner during the school year. It may not be a "must try" for some, but if you want Albuquerque nostalgia, this is your place. Btw--it's pretty darn cheap,!

We know good Mexican food, as we are from San Diego, and wanted to try the southwest fare. WHAT AN AMAZING CHOICE! The lovely hostess was charming, engaging and sweet (wish i had her name) and our waiter (Edgar) was authentic, personable and fun to chat with. Lobster enchiladas were nice but unique just to be unique. I asked for recommendations and all of the options were the most expensive on the menu which was odd to me. If they have a cheaper lunch menu it might be worth trying, but I think the dinner isn't worth it for the price. Four entrees and a soda was $130 plus tip.

My parents lived in ABQ for years and always thought that the atmosphere was great, but the food was so-so. However, on this instance, we all thought the food was quite good. Flavorful carne adovada, although it was a bit tough. Red chile sauce was spicy but had great flavor. The green chile sauce was hot and tasty. Posole was also good. The gold margaritas were also good - to anyone complaining about the price - at $14.50, the price is very fair considering the cost of ingredients. If you want a cheap junk margarita that is more sugar than anything else, go somewhere else! Our gripe... The place is huge and has an abundance of great places to seat guests. We had a pretty large group - 7 people celebrating a family reunion of sorts. However, they sat us right next to the bussing station that had noisy carts, dishwashers, and other distractions. It was so loud, it was hard to hear the person across the table. There were at least 10 other tables that they could have seated us at! It seems to me that this area should be used only when the restaurant is completely full. This seems to be a poor management decision rather than the fault of the servers or hosts.
