I love my optometrist here and they have helped me tremendously. I have been frustrated with other services through their business. I spent about $800 on new sunglasses and eyeglasses and that was with insurance. They never took any measurements like they used to. I received my two pairs of glasses and they are massive in size. The display fit perfectly when I tried them on, but the glasses I received do not fit and they stretch out. I had several back-and-forth attempts of trying to get them to fit and they finally told me that there was nothing else they could do for me. I'm now stuck with two expensive Parra glasses that I can't wear. I've never experienced customer service from this place before like this. I'm highly disappointed. read more

Horrible Experience. I do not recommend this place to anyone. The customer service is very unprofessional. I drove a long distance to get there with my kids and I was given a grace period of 15 minutes and was told that if I went a minute past they would cancel my kids appointments. Both my kids really need eye exams. I especially took my daughter out of school to go to this appointment. I will not mention names. But the manager I spoke with did not have good managerial skills and his customer service skills were very unprofessional. I am happy that I will not be going back to them. Because the way I was treated did not make me confident that they could do a good job with my optometry, exam and getting the right prescription glasses. Yeraz is Great! She is easy to talk to, very attentive and was able to catch a diagnosis for my vision that no others have caught. Literally for 20 years I have been going multiple other places to get contact lenses and glasses with my check ups. They all brushed off my question about my vision. I was happy to discover this location of StudioEyes Optometry closer to my home. I'd been going to the Burbank location for years as it's near my work, but now that I'm working from home, Northridge is much more convenient to me. I love how spacious and clean the office is, with plenty of parking in the shopping plaza. They take COVID precautions seriously, with someone taking your temperature and asking you to sanitize your hands upon entry. Everyone I encountered was super nice and sweet, including Dr. Yaz. I didn't feel any pressure to upgrade my current glasses, and the lady helping me wrote down clearly what the cost breakdown would be for a new pair of glasses with and without insurance so I know what to expect when I upgrade next year. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an optometrist! read more

We have been going here for 6 years and have had good experiences overall. We have seen Dr. Shulman and Dr. Yaz few times. We started going through the Infantsee program for my son. We recently had our first appointment with Dr. Dubick and we didn't have the same experience that we normally have. Personally my preference is for the other 2 doctors. read more

I recently managed to partially sit on my glasses. Not enough to break them, but I popped a lens out. I popped it back in. but it wasn't exactly right. I'd seen good Yelp reviews for these guys, so I went in and explained what happened and asked if they could get it in better. I'm going to get new glasses, but not for a while, so these have to last me a while, and then I plan to use these for backups. They were very nice, and fixed it so that lens won't go anywhere. I took one of their cards and they're first on my list when it comes to getting a new pair. read more

I spent quite a bit on some new glasses on my last visit there. I just called to see if they could replace the nose guards on those glasses as they are worn and Maria said I need an appointment because it can take awhile and that I'm more than welcomed to go somewhere else. I actually got these guards replaced before elsewhere and was able to walk in, have them changed out for free, in less than ten minutes. I'll take my business elsewhere. Apparently, they don't care if you go elsewhere and spend your money in the future. Not a good experience! read more

My first visit to this store was amazing! The young ladies were friendly, and the optician I saw, Virginia Martinez She seemed to know her stuff and she was very nice. She didn't push to purchase and I really liked that. So, today, I went back to order glasses from them, even willing to pay extra simply because I thought I'd found a new optician. However, when I went in today, she was curt, elusive and she seemed like I was truly bothering her. She didn't make me feel as welcomed as she had last week. I placed the order, but when I kept feeling as if my business was putting her out, I decided that if she or this store didn't want my business, I'd be happy to take my business elsewhere. This isn't the only optician store around. I realize they have good reviews and I really hoped I'd found my new optometrist and optician. Sadly, whether today was a bad day for them or if she had something against me( I have no idea what I may have done), but I was saddened by the lack of customer service. Plus, she'd told my husband and I last week, it would be 505.00. Today, she charged me 597.00. For the same glasses she quoted me on last week. The service here was terrible! I saw the eye doctor and he was very grumpy. While testing my eyes he would ask me if I had any questions and when I asked he would audibly make a noise of annoyance and answer the question. He did it a few times so I just stopped asking him anything. It really felt like he didn't want to be there and he was counting the days until he retired. I thought he was just a bad doctor but their optometrist was equally horrible. I got fitted for glasses and they said it would take about a week for it to arrive. Two weeks later I called THEM and they said it was in. Why didn't they call me? When I picked up the glasses the receptionist asked my name and just handed me the glasses. I could'nt believe it. I asked if the optometrist is going to adjust the fitting and they told me they were out on errands and I should come back half an hour later. I went walking around the neighborhood and when I came back the optometrist (Virginia) just looked at me so annoyed and asked how can she help me. She had absolutely zero personal customer service skills. No smile, no nothing. I've worn glasses all my life and I have never experienced such unprofessional service. read more

I been coming to studio eyes since I was a teenager. I remember going there since it's location on Balboa and San Fernando Mission. I am always treated with a respect and always welcome-it feels like a home. I have off and on came -due to my insurance changes- but StudioEyes has always been my first choice. Dr Yaz and her staff members are the nicest and sweetest human beings I've ever met. They are all very knowledgeable and helpful, most importantly they do not rip you off. I showed up to my appointment early and they were able to take me in right of way. I needed my annual eye exams and new glasses. They were able to get me in n out within 15 minutes. I have been a patient since the 90s. Unfortunately, since the past three years, I have been treated like I just started receiving eye care services yesterday. The quality of care is poor and the eye doctors do not spend the time to look at your eyes. In one instance, during my appointment, the door was left open and I could hear the eye doctor make a negative remark about me with another employee because I did not complete one of the eye exams. Unfortunately, I do not believe I will continue my long standing services. I do not recommend this place. On a positive note, the front staff is always helpful and professional. read more

I made an appointment online last minute and called the office to make sure that the appointment was verified. The appointment online is not very accurate and will need following up via phone to make sure your appointment is made. Luckily I was able to make it because I had a trip coming very soon and needed prescription sunglasses. Anyways, it's located in a large strip mall near LA fitness/ Smart and Final with plenty of parking space so you won't have trouble parking. They took my temperature when I walked in and had me do some paperwork's because it was my first time going there. I had to ditch my previous optometrist because they were very pushy and sales oriented. I went in and did my exam, talked to the doctor about my prescription etc.. she was very nice and didn't hesitate to answer all of my questions. At the end I got to pick my glasses, I was in and out very quick. The opticians were very friendly and not pushy at all. There was a 'Karen' customer who was just not having it but, the other optician was very accommodating and helped the customer stay calm, de escalated the situation. She handled it very professionally! Overall I'm very impressed with my initial visit here at studio optometry, and will make this optometry my permanent place to go whenever I need glasses. read more

I don't understand how an optometry place would ask you to pay extra for better vision even when you have good insurance. They claim that the lens covered by insurance is not good enough and want to sell you a more premier lens. They act if they are doing you a favor. Hmm, why then have insurance? The staffs make you feel cheap when you settle for the lens that insurance pays. Why would the insurance company screw people vision more by giving coverage for bad lens? I would think they want people to see well and not to have their degree worsen quickly from bad lens... The optometry place didn't get enough reimbursement from the insurance? We PAY insurance company with every pay check. We did NOT get insurance FREE. It's not Medicare. So why do we made to feel like our insurance is subpar? Maybe our insurance company should hear how their in-network doctors treat their patients. I would like to find an optometry place that is honest and truly cares for their patient's well being...pocket book included. read more

First time coming here and I'm definitely coming back for future needs! It's actually hard to believe that this place received reviews that were less than five stars because the customer service here is exceptional. I had an appointment with Dr. Yaz at 11:30 and I was pleasantly surprised to be called back promptly at 11:30. I mean, it's really not often or at all that you show up for a doctor appointment and they see you at the time they're supposed to. Dr. Yaz was super friendly and made good recommendations and suggestions for me as far as contact brands and eye dilation visits. She had me in and out very fast! Dr. Yaz was great and I was even more pleased with the service that I received from Gabriel when looking for a pair of glasses. I showed him a couple pairs of glasses I was interested in and he picked out a lot of different frames that I might like. He found me a pair I didn't even notice and I ended up going with those. He answered all the questions I had and even gave me a few pointers on my insurance. I can't wait to pick up my glasses in a couple of weeks! I don't know how long I'll live in Northridge, but I would definitely be willing to make a commute here in the future if I move. read more

Everybody from the technicians to Dr. Yaz were professional, respectful, and cheerful. Dr. Yaz took time to go over my exam results with me and answered few questions I had. I haven't gone to their Studio City branch, but I believe the doctors are on rotation between the two locations under this banner. I've seen Doctors Dubick and Shuham once each, but ended up sticking with Dr. Do, whom I find to be very patient and willing to answer my 20 questions each time I go in. I believe the prices here are pretty average for check-ups. They also have this Optomap machine (optos.com) that I haven't seen at very many offices yet. While insurance doesn't cover this, I do it every other year just for comfort sake, as vision problems run in the family. Frames run from $100 - $275+ (I think) - they have a pretty extensive selection of your typical brand names. I've gotten one pair of glasses here and have tried several different types of contact lenses. Gabriel - the specialist - is awesome. The assistants here are also exceptional - 5 star rating for each of them as well. read more

My husband and I have been patients for several years. We moved to Arkansas and made sure to order our glasses before we left California. I have always had problems with the fit of my glasses, no matter the style. Virginia was a life saver and made suggestions that complemented my high prescription yet were still fun and stylish. I love that they have the most modern technology equipment including the retinal scanner so they can build an accurate record of the health of your eye and body. However, the supporting staff was quite rude in explaining the costs of eyeglasses and acted as if any questions regarding sizing / availability / insurance were completely uncalled for. I've been going every year to Studio Eyes for the past 6 years. I actually learned about it using Yelp, it already had great reviews that time. This place is run by very nice people, about 4-5 including the eye doctor on schedule for that day. (and yes, they are open on Saturdays!) It's very clean, and the staff are very professional. I actually live in West L.A. now, but I still drive all the way here for my annual check ups (and to get new glasses.) They have a decent amount of glasses to choose from, although I'd say they can probably have more designer glasses in store to check out and try. All in all, i'm very happy I found this place. I love this place. I come once a year for my eye care and every time I go it's a very friendly environment, very comfortable and cheap (with insurance). Without insurance, you may want to look elsewhere. Otherwise go ahead and come here. I love it and wouldn't go to any other. It is quite pricey so please only go if you have insurance that covers some of the tests/exams. I wouldn't want anyone to spend more than they have to. I certainly don't with my insurance. =) read more

I was surpised to see my mother upset when i got out of the Dr's office. She was not happy with how they treated her because she was bringing her own prescription. Apparently, she felt that Virginia did not want to spend time with her because she is bringing her own prescription and frames. It was not like they were busy and my mother was just wasting her time.
