The staff are accommodating, knowledgeable, and helpful. Inexpensive frames and lenses compared to other optical shop. You can com anytime you want, but be patient during peak time they can be very busy. They take each costumer personal needs efficiently. Belen and Mark are my favorite staff. read more

Staff is friendly and doctors are patient. Haven't had anything awful happen although if you are a walk-in you might have to wait a lot longer than with an appointment. I had Dr. Hair who has a lovely demeanor. I had to do my prescription twice because my eyes weren't adjusting to first prescription. Plus I tend to talk a lot, LOL! So... distracting the doctor. I have to work on that. Costco validates go another hour over what is allotted at Westfield for parking. Always make sure you have a paper ticket before exiting and mind the time. I wasn't going to write this review until I got a call from the "optometrist" who said my glasses frame were cracked and that's why they couldn't replace the lenses. My frame is not cracked at all and now they are making things up. They have a horrendous wait everyday and they do not communicate their policies to you when you are pressured into to buying two pairs of glasses with their deals and if you scratch them they will not replace the lenses or even care if they have messed up your prescription. My five year old son sees an optometrist and we get his back up paid of glasses here , his optometrist said that the prism they put in his glasses is incorrect. They say it's not. Even though my son had to tell me mom these glasses hurt my eyes and this is the second time his prescription has been wrong! It was written down in his chart a whole number off! Did they care that they messed up and completely screwed up my son's glasses?! No, not even an apology. Thirds times the charm, I'm never buying any glasses here again. So unprofessional, over worked and just plain not good at their jobs. Or they hate their job is what it feels like. read more

My husband and I brought in our prescriptions after our yearly eye examinations with our regular optometrist. The optician who helped us - I think his name was Misafa was great. He was very friendly, helpful and very polite. He advised us of an offer of a discount purchasing a second pair. My husband and I bother ordered regular glasses and sunglasses. With our insurance coverage along with the discount we each got two pairs of glasses for under $300! We love Costco overall - and we always get our glasses at Costco read more

Service here is always so quick and easy which is why I've been coming here for years. Even if my insurance doesn't support it now, I still went to get an updated prescription and ended up being their last patient before they had to close due to plumbing issues! Lucky me! Called a few days earlier to schedule it. Waited a good 15 min on the phone but the guy scheduled me pretty quickly. Coming into my appointment, they had me fill out the check in form but then had trouble finding my insurance. Sadly my insurance doesn't cover it but I paid out of my own pocket for convenience sake but also because I know they do a good job here. Shortly after I got called in by the assistant and Dr. Kiet Huynh welcomed me. He is super nice and easy to talk to! It went by so quick without any issues. Probably roughly around 10 min in and out! I only came for an updated prescription and got my new glasses elsewhere for a better selection since they don't have too many. Great doctor and staff and would definitely recommend coming here. It's been a while since I have used the Optometrist at Costco and both of us had our exams here. It is a little pricey but worth not having to wait. The optometrist office staff were friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. I appreciated the great service we received. If just giving review on the optometrist office it would be 5 stars but due to the rude optician, especially the older lady whose name starts with M, I had to take stars away. What a B (that's being nice), she has absolutely no customer service etiquette. When I pointed out that they skipped my number instead of just saying sorry give us a sec and will take care of you, she had to get nasty, verbal and loud. At that point, I knew I wasn't coming back for future purchases. It also took forever to get our products so will have to use a different place to order our contacts don't like giving my money to businesses with rude employees. But will be back to use the optometrist. read more

I have been buying glasses from Costco for almost 30 years. Have been extremely pleased with the quality of the glasses, but more so with the professional attributes of the optical personnel. They are knowledgable, conscientious and efficient. Since I just had cataract, I contacted the Costco optical department in Culver City # 479 and spoke with Grace about the cost to get my Costco prescription sun glasses changed to regular. Using the same frame saved me $100 from going to a regular optical shop. When I went in this morning for the transaction, it so happened that Grace was the sales representative for my number. She was very outstanding with her customer service, knowledge, personal attention and thoroughness. She has been a Costco employee for 16 years and has not lost one iota of enthusiasm and caring for the customer! She is a tremendous asset for Costco! Thank you. read more

Whoever working at Costco can read this PLEASE: I urge you to talk to your staff and hold a meeting on practicing/reviewing PROPER ETIQUETTE towards patients!!! I myself work in health care and I know for a fact that patients find staff members like this repulsive, and will do anything to be heard by whoever is in charge!! It's not good for business, especially when these staff members are the first faces your patients see!! For those of you looking into an optometrist, while the doctors here are great and practice proper bedside manners, PLEASE BEWARE... the receptionists may seem professional at first, but I am not the only person who's experienced their EXTREME inconsideration!!! It's to the point where I'm seriously considering on switching doctors or finding another place where some of these optometrists practice, after years of being mistreated by their staff!!! Been coming here for years. Line was always long but this year, apparently, they hired another doctor so there is NO, i repeat, NO waiting time! Eye exam/fitting for contact lens is still a great deal ($90 here and $230 at the Jules Stein) and they give you a pair free as part of the exam. read more

This place simply takes forever even when you get there to get a number! They have about 4 walls of selections, but if you find something and you for some reason can not make your our have make sure you put it on hold. If you don't put the glasses on hold them they are gone and they don't have an unlimited stock just simply the one pair. The prescription alone is $68 dollars alone and most of the frames range from $49.00 and up. I saw other places for glasses started at $100 plus for the cute ones and that was without even the prescription. They have name brands and the really expensive ones they have locked away in cases in front so if you have a lot of money make sure you check out the front. They also offer sunglasses, but this is fewer than the actual glasses. The staff are very friendly and it's not there fault it takes so long. There is just a lot of new information being gathered if they are not a returning customer. read more

Dr. Katzaroff has been helping my family for 10 years. I hope he continues to be there forever. The perfect eye doctor, and he's also great with kids. It is true that we sometimes wait past our appointment time, and that can be aggravating. The trade off is that when Dr. Katz is seeing you, he is very thorough, and takes the time to explain everything and answer all of your questions. I'd much rather wait past my appointment time than feel rushed when it's time to see my doctor, or wonder if he was thorough with my kids exam. As for the store part where you buy glasses, IT'S COSTCO. Yes, you have to wait in line. Yes, there is usually more than one person in front of you. AND you get professional, helpful, and nice people to help you when it's your turn. They have really decent prices on glasses and contacts. They always let you know if there are coupons or rebates. They offer good service at good prices, but to do that they need volume, and that means lots of people waiting to buy stuff. It's COSTCO. There are boutique shops and places like LensCrafters where people will greet you at the door and hold your hand through the whole process if that's what you like, just expect to pay $500-600 for your glasses. If you want the same thing for $150, take a number, shut up and wait your turn! Jeez! read more

********TIP FOR MAKING YOUR GLASSES LOOK LIKE NEW WITH OLIVE OIL****** Okay....so I know there are always a bit of a long line. Some of you have stated that below but honestly, though I have yet to have a bad experience.They are such nice technicians and they really take your time with you. Last time I came in (I wear both glasses and contacts), I had mentioned my glasses were kind of looking older (they had these weird, discolored marks on the side). My cousin has these same very marks on his glasses too and I was curious what they were. The lady had told me to take a cotton ball with olive oil and rub the sides of my glasses with it gently. She said the reason for this was the side of my glasses were dry but they were not permanent but more like scratches than can be removed. You then let the olive oil soak over night and then wipe off the residue. No joke, they look brand spankin new! Very cool little trick. Thanks, Costco Optical! ;) read more

The actual Optometrist that did my test was so much nicer than the last one. The last guy was a white guy with a beard and he was sarcastic. It's as if he was pissed that I came in for an exam. I think it was because it was a few years since I last had an exam. Sorry, the economy was a shithole in 2009, apparently that was my fault. This time I had an Asian lady and she was so nice! I was almost surprise from the great treatment she gave me. My prescription even improved (take that, white optometrist) Two weeks later.... When I had to get my glasses, the LINE WAS LONG. There should be a pickup wait and the glasses choosing wait should be 2 separate lines. There must be peak times honestly, if I had the time, I would have rolled up in there at opening, but I was busy, so I guess early afternoon, it gets packed. The manager was helping me. He adjusted my glasses fine, but I was dying from all the corny shit coming out of his mouth. It was to the point where I said, "Okay, I get it." I understand he was coming off as personal, but when I'm waiting around for almost an hour, just adjust them, ask me how I'm doing and send me on my way. read more

The People who order the contacts in for you and help you pick out the frames are amazing. I wish I could say the same about the eye Dr. and their receptionist. They are rude, and treat you like garbage. The Dr. told me if I ever had any issues with my contacts to go see his ASAP and he'd give me other brands to try out, so I went in because my contacts weren't working out and the head receptionist said if i wanted to see the Dr. I had to pay all over again. I asked if i could just ask the Dr. a question and she said I still had to pay. She is beyond rude, I love Costco but id rather pay a bit more and go somewhere else because eyes are something you shouldn't play around with. read more

I have been coming here for at least 7 years. I have usually worked with Dr Katz....... ( sp?) and he is great. I have also worked with another Dr and she was also wonderful. This is a no nonsense basic set up with prices posted clearly. Yet, I get the same treatment and service that I get at my previous optometrist for less than half the price. They will do adjustments if something isn't right with glasses or contacts. I have also filled my contact lenses and glasses at Costco. Very convenient and again, easy adjustments and returns. I had my exam and new prescription on Tuesday, Sept. 15 and today, Sept 19th, I just got a text message that my new glasses are ready. I always make an appointment and the wait has been generally 15 to 20 minutes. This works for me and wanted to say thanks for the great service year after year. read more

I wish I can give this place a negative star review ! Awful service from the get go. To begin, no one greeted us when we walked in, the office is FIFLTY DISGUSTINGLY DIRTY ! I filled out the papers, waited to be called in for a SIMPLE EYE CHECK EXAM!! Granted I was a walk in but the told me the wait is about 25 min. After an hour and a half wait I stormed out after they let another person without an appointment in front of me. I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE. Luna needs an attitude change and to be quickly replaced. I came here to buy some new contacts today and I had an awesome experience. Richard, the optical manager, helped me out today and was so extremely nice and helpful. I had bought the wrong set of contacts and he had told me if there were any issues to come back to him right away and he would fix it. I ended up returning the ones I had just bought and bought the correct ones. He didn't hesistate to help me out right away and even though I knew he was very busy...he still kept a great attiutude and a smile. Thank you for you help Richard! The young lady in the front office should not work with public, bad attitude and no help at all. We had an appointment that we made the day before and after waiting half an hour we were told that will be another 20 minutes. No explanation and no excuse. Will not see this optometrist again, ever.
