One of the places where my vision insurance is accepted. It is a small shop but they do have a pretty quiet collection of frames. I just popped in and I was taken cared of by Yessi. She greeted me upon arrival. I told her what I was there for and she gave me time to look around. But first she made sure that my insurance is accepted. Once I'm done choosing my frame, we sat down and did the numbers. This time around, I opted for a progressive lens with transition plus the add ons. Yessi entered my insurance info and I liked what I saw. With all the add ons and all, it came out to be within my budget. If you come here be careful what they use to clean your glasses. I came in here to get my glasses adjusted and the older lady who assisted me was so upset that she had to be at work on a Black Friday (I came here a couple years ago, this review is late) but it irritates me because she used literally Kleenexes to wipe my glasses and left two (not very noticeable but also very noticeable scratches on both lenses) TAKE A LOOK at the pictures. It doesn't prevent me from seeing thru them but every time I clean them I see the scratches and it irritates me so much. She had such an attitude and i didn't say anything because I figured she knew what she was doing. But in hindsight I should've said something on the spot. This actually is damaging to the lenses and they're not cheap so a manager should reach out to me if they care about their business. Only an inept person would use Kleenex tissue to wipe glasses at an optical place that has PLENTY of appropriate cloths to clean them with. Smh read more

I conveniently booked my eye exam online. On the day of my appointment, I was kindly greeted by Gabby who helped me sign in before meeting with my eye doctor, Dr. Tiffany Nguyen. Dr. Nguyen was so kind and professional. She answered any questions I had and made me feel comfortable the entire time. Kathy is my favorite!!! I went in to this Target Optical with 3 very expensive japanese frames and needed new lenses for each one. Kathy helped me and explained all the options. I came back 2 weeks later for them and they were perfect, she adjusted everything to fit my face perfectly. My 2 year old bent my frames a couple months later (multiple times!) and each time Kathy fixed it for me in a jiffy. I am FUMING at my experience today. This review is reflective of the front office, not the optometrists. I've worked in customer-facing jobs for years and am baffled at how incompetent the front desk is here. I booked my appointment online on Saturday for Dr. Tiffany Nguyen at 12:00pm. I came in early at 11:45, saw a table with paperwork to fill out, and no one even asked me if I was checking in or if I needed help while I was completing it. I handed someone my paperwork and wait. It hits 12:10 and I have to ask the older man, I believe his name is Rudy, how long she'll be because no one thought to update me. He said she's going to be another 10 minutes and I wait, and while I'm waiting, a 12:20 appointment comes in. Now we're both waiting and I finally get called in at 12:30 just for it NOT to be Dr. Nguyen. I specifically scheduled the appointment with Dr. Nguyen because it said she was available today. I walked out and all Rudy says is "Oh Dr. Nguyen is out today so we have the emergency doctor here." Did you not think to notify patients that the primary optometrist wouldn't be here today, after having them wait 30 mins? No amount of soft talking and explaining that the emergency optometrist is here does anything for me nor does it make up for the fact that you had me waiting for 30 minutes without checking in or updating me. Ridiculous. Well, I know the emergency optometrist was relieved because they were able to take the 12:20 appointment in. I rescheduled my appointment with Dr. Nguyen and looking forward to it. Dr Nguyen was very nice and professional. However, the receptionist, Kathy was extremely rude and condescending. She was very unprofessional both in person and over the phone. After sharing my experience with my friend who USED to go to Target optical in Northridge, they said "My family and I no longer go there because of the rude, intrusive, and vulgar old blonde, white lady". For families that spends thousands of dollars as customers, the least Target optical could do is to have a professional receptionist/associate. read more

The doctor was nice and gave me a typical exam and answered all my questions. Appointment though wasn't the smoothest. Apparently that day the optical assistants all called out sick and the doctor was the only one working there. When I arrived along with other patients, there wasn't anyone there or any sign saying "be right back" or anything to let us know that someone is even present. I did have a bit of a wait due to this which was a bit frustrating as I had to immediately go to work right after and was late. Their selection of glasses is really limited unless you like Ray Ban (I like them but I don't need them). Pricing on Ray Ban was a bit less than I've seen them elsewhere which was nice. Would give them a try again and hope for a better experience the second time around. read more

Go here if you want your glasses to be a month and a half process. I get my eyes checked and purchased a pair here. Wait 2 weeks to get the new pair. The grade on the glasses were wrong and I had to go back to get my eyes rechecked & have them redo the glasses. Wait another 2 weeks for the new lenses and I come back to them being the wrong size for my frame. So unbelievably inconvenient and a waste of gas. So now we're back to waiting another 2 weeks for the redo of the redo lenses. Amazing read more

Had a great visit today at Target Optical, it's my first time getting my eyes checked at a Target store. Came in 5minutes before appointment time and didn't have to wait. Staff are friendly. Only downside is that there are no chairs to sit-on while you're waiting. Dr. Tiffany is very nice, friendly and attentive. Prices for eyeglasses and contacts are reasonable. OK so, let's assess why this is not 4 or 5 star in my books. Pros: KATHY. The new guy, too. Let's go back to KATHY. Her humor is superb and unexpected. She's gracious and kind. Equally witty and snarky, which makes it all the more wonderful. If I were to return would probably be only for her to be honest. Location is beneficial for me as well. The new guy was just hired, and he seems friendly. I like him wayyyyy better than the man who was working there before. Hopefully he isn't just a temp. The Doctor's. Not sure if the male doctor is still working there, (few years back.) but he was my favorite experience with a optician. He literally was the most calmest being on Earth. Which is great for doctor's and manners with patients. Patience. Lol, he waiting unflinchingly while I learned to put in my contacts for the first time. Probably took thirty minutes and he was so encouraging and patient that I remember how comfortable I was to this very day! The female Doctor is great too. She's quick and knowledgeable. There was an issue with my prescription which I'll explain later, and she emailed me personally which helped me. I'm glad she did. It made me want to possibly return to her in the future. Mids: Selection. There's great choices, but there isn't as many as you would think. The prices can be a little uncontrollable if you aren't ready to drop a few bills on a nice frame with lenses. Of course insurance is a thing too. Cons: Okay. So there's a reasonable con here. Let's start. The move? I was in a blind mess for a month after they temporarily moved. I couldn't get a frame from anywhere, and had to drive out to Van Nuys to ask for my script I paid for that was still in good use. I wasn't able to get it properly, and when contacting Target, the customer service just agreed with the frustration and left it at that. A week later, luckily, my doc emailed me, but the whole process took a month and I was just upset with the timing. Lack of responsibility too. This issue should have been thought of previous to their move. It wasn't my fault I paid for my prescription, and it isn't a lifetime supply. They expire after two years, so when I need to access it, I should have been granted that immediately despite the remolding the company is making. That's how you lose service. Overall though, due to the great initial service, I won't rate this experience any lower. Grateful to have met Kathy and the doctors. Maybe one day I'll return, but in the meantime I will wait out my prescription and probably search elsewhere. read more

Worst customer service. Went in at 11:00 A.M. to get my prescription. The old blonde lady that "helped" me was Kathy as the other younger associate was busy with another customer. The other associate was able to fully help the other customer but for some reason, Kathy was having trouble pulling up my profile. After 45 mins of waiting, I checked with Kathy, and she was still not able to pull out my profile. The younger associate then offered to Kathy to use the other computer that was used to help the customer before me, but Kathy declined rudely. I then asked if she could send me my prescription through email and after more than 8 hrs I still have not received my prescription. I called to follow up and Kathy was extremely rude, saying that "Sue Us, do what you have to do". All I asked was a follow-up, I did not even bring up anything about HIPAA and CCR regulations and she was already extremely defensive and dismissive with just a follow-up question. Since she was extremely ill-mannered, I asked to speak with Dr. Nguyen. She refused to transfer me by saying that "Dr. Nguyen is off today". I then asked to speak to the doctor that was there, and Kathy put me on hold then said, "The doctor is helping out a patient". She then proceeded to refuse to give me my prescription because she said it was already given to me during my check-up. This would be my first time having my own personal medical record withheld. read more

I had a very pleasant experience with my visit here. Dr. Nguyen was very thorough on the eye exam, friendly and very accomodating. She took the time to explain every concern I had with my eyeglasses and contact lens fitting. Highly recommended and will surely come back to have my daughter's eye checked as well. Very disappointed in the customer service here , got the text glasses were ready for pick up . Called was told they closed at 6pm due to holiday . Let the person know I was on my way and I'd be there by 5:30 . Arrived and the gate was half closed . Seen an older lady in the back and asked for help . She immediately threw Attitude at me and said they were closed , as I was saying that I called she cut me off and screamed I said we are closed !!! It was so outrageous I was stunned ! Ok you closed early even though I called and was told you'd be open ? She muttered a few other things as I walked away in disbelief. Will not ever return to this terrible place and that lady should change her career choice if she gets that angry when questioned by a customer !!! read more

Staff Kathy, Valerie and Rudy are very efficient and helpful. But they do need extra help on the phones so they can deal with on site customers without so many interruptions. But... I went for my eye exam on a Saturday with the weekend optometrist which was a very good experience especially since this is my first prescription glasses. I ended up opting for the progressive lenses but did not like them so I had to go back for a second consult. This time my appointment was with Dr. Nga Lu. No. Never. I will not even pick up contacts at this location ever again. Someone in a previous review called him the "Napoleon Dynamite looking guy" but I believe he is the manager- he might be the worst human I have ever come into contact with at any Target. Ever. This man was outright rude and dismissive when I attempted to pick up lenses that were sent to the location. I called the sending location and they called him repeatedly. I watched the phone right and I watched him ignore it- blatantly. The gate was halfway down and the lights were off and he kept saying he was instructed to "give nothing to anyone." This was early on in the COVID-19 pandemic but, there were specific messages from Target Optical that locations were open for limited hours. I was just picking up a box, that's it. He yelled at me several times. The store manager stepped in and asked him to retrieve my box. She stood there until he gave it to me (he gave it to her, not me. She had to give it to me.) She shared that they are not employees of Target. I believe she was equally appalled. The other location (Van Nuys) has been wonderful, even sending me a card. I will only go to Van Nuys from now on. I feel bad giving this review considering the doctor is a gem. Her staff however, are born liars and customer service seems to be a word that is foreign to them. I went in to get an exam and a new pair of glasses before my college graduation. I explained to Saieya that I needed to have them by a certain date or else I wasn't interested in purchasing them. She assured me that I would have them the friday before I traveled which gave the lab 7 days to fix them and get them shipped. Saieya explained that usually it takes 7-10 days to get glasses there but that she would e-mail the lab and her district manager to ensure I had them in time, expediting the shipment. I was so pleased I ordered a regular pair and a pair of sunglasses. Fast forward to that Friday. I didn't hear anything from the staff so I called a little after 5:00pm. I spoke with Kathy, who seemed very long suffering, who informed me that the glasses were not there. She told me that there was no rush put on the order and that I would have to wait the standard amount of time - 10 days. I asked to speak with Saieya; she wasn't there. I was told to call back the next day as there was another shipment due and that maybe my glasses would be in it, despite the lack of rush. I called the next morning and spoke with Saieya. She said they were rushed ordered but that she never told me that it was absolutely guaranteed, that she only promised to give it her best try to get the glasses to me in time. She also told me that the sunglass lens I wanted wasn't available, that she ordered a different color lens without clearing it with me and that those certainly would not be available before I left town. I ended up receiving my regular glasses before I left. The quality is time and the frame is stylish. I have no problem with the product itself. Still, 2 weeks later the sunglasses still haven't shown up and when requesting a refund all I seem to get is the run around. Suddenly, no one is available to speak with me or facilitate the return. The saddest part is I cannot even speak to Target about this since this optometry operates autonomous of the location - they are renting the space. Just a nightmare experience from the staff at Target Optical. I would never go there again and I will be telling everyone I know about their shady business practices. read more

Had the absolute worst service today. Went this morning and at 10 am (when they should be open for business) the man working actually asks what he can do for me through the lowered gate. Then he proceeds to reluctantly help me in trying to find Oakley rims for me as they may be out of stock . He tells me he will have to call later because their main office is in Cincinnati and that they are closed. He was either an idiot as he did not even realize it was 12pm there or he did and was just brushing me off because he didn't feel like helping me at that time. When I told him about the time difference he just rolled his eyes and said he will get to it later and call me. It is now past 8:30 and I never got a call. Came here for an eye exam today with Dr Lu and then bought 2 pairs of glasses. Dr. Lu is very competent and I cannot complement their staff enough, especially Kathy. Kathy's professionalism and sense of humor are awesome. I would follow her anywhere she goes if she ever leaves this place. I'm not sure what one of the reviewers is talking about getting bad service from this place because when I went there I found the staff pleasant and the doctor willing to go to great lengths to help me out. I have trouble with one of my eyes so I asked the doctor many times to keep going back and forth with the prescription so that I could get it just right. She happily obliged and was patient with me. I had one pair of glasses that needed new lenses and Kathy and Felicia helped me pick out a pair of prescription sunglasses that fit me just right. My very first time to meet Dr Huynh since I'm always seen by Dr Lu , whom i LOVE dearly since she's AWESOME!!! BUT she's on her vacation hehe. Turned out, Dr Huynh also is as cool as she is! He's very calm and collected, professional, attentive and thorough as well! He answered all my queries and explained to me everything that I need to know. Kathy was and is still pretty funny! Not only us she very competent at what she does, she is really a ball of sunshine! Friendly, great conversationalist and accommodating. Truly, the service here is consistently beyond exceptional! I second the other reviewer. Had an appointment with Dr. Nga Lu and had to go back for a second consult, because she gave me the wrong prescription!! I received my glasses and couldn't see anything, everything was a blur! She decided to write me something that was 100x off my original prescription. It boggles my mind why anyone would give someone a prescription less than what they already had, by that much. She does she NOT take being wrong well either! She is extremely rude, impatient, and unprofessional!! I had to go to another optical center, where the doctor was beyond shocked at the wrong prescription. He gave me another exam and turned out, my prescription remained the same as my original. Seriously?! Don't do it!!! I bought DKNY frames and they always get loose and start falling off and I'm a very busy woman to keep going there to go get them tighten all the time.
