I am shocked that I have to write a follow-up to my previous review. After our visit to Apple Optometry, we left with a prescription for our son and paid over $500 for his glasses. Today, we finally had his follow-up appointment with Kaiser to confirm that the prescription was correcting his vision. Instead, we learned from the ophthalmologist that Dr. Carol had prescribed the wrong prescription. Our ophthalmologist's exact words were, "It's criminal that she would provide him a prescription when she could not fully perform any test." We trusted Dr. Carol's professional judgment, and because of that negligence, our son was left wearing an incorrect prescription after we spent hundreds of dollars on glasses that were never appropriate for his needs. This experience is unacceptable. We will be filing a formal complaint with the appropriate licensing board regarding the care our son received. read more

They have always gotten me in right away. The staff and Dr Carol are amazing. I recommend them highly.

wonderful patient care! staff are friendly, patient and professional. AWESOME customer service! The wait time was great, I loved my visit, as soon as I walked in I was welcomed, the staff was friendly the Dr's were great. Big selection of eyeglasses, if They don't have it, they can get it for you! read more

That is not true. This is not our first time getting the glasses and we've used our sunglasses for prescriptions. The providers gave us back the original lenses that came with it. read more

I have been patient of Apple optometry since they started . They have "A" team and the service is above and beyond.

Beware! Apple Optometry is a horrible place to be at: You might end up wearing someone else's lenses or even defective lenses. This office is way too far from professionalism. read more

AMAZING!!! I am such a critic when it comes to service. The team at Apple Optometry exceed all of my expectations. I took my 5 year old son in for an exam and the team was so patient with him. All of my questions were answered. At no point did I ever feel rushed. read more

I diligently on-line researched and called many places looking for a good, nearby "forever" optometrist for my elderly friend, D. My process ended when I wound up speaking with a very nice, informative person at Apple. After spending several minutes on the phone, I asked who I was speaking with. It was, surprisingly, Dr. Carol. I booked D's appointment immediately. The next day, we arrived on time for D's 4:30 appointment and didn't leave until 7 p.m.! Dr. Carol was soooo patient, kind and thorough with my friend. D has/had multiple vision problems including macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinal detachments, cataracts, extreme myopia and astigmatism. D is often slow and/or confused when answering questions. When it comes to vision, D is about the most challenging patient imaginable. Despite D's extensive complications, Dr. Carol patiently navigated through every issue, did multiple tests and cross-checked D's inconsistent responses. Dr. C's specialization in children is perfect for the elderly. She went waaaay beyond an eye test and the basics. The entire office staff is nice, helpful and accommodating. This isn't just an optometrist's office, it's a cocoon of happiness that just happens to be in the vision business. I cannot thank Dr. Carol and staff enough for everything! Apple Optometry is D's optometrist for life. I can't wait to see my friend looking great and seeing perfectly in her new glasses. 5*s is simply insufficient. 10*s, at a minimum, is deserved, Thank you, ladies, for the incredible service! read more

I am not happy at all and regret coming here. Rip off, If u searched the value of the frame, it only cost $50 online, they selling it more than the actual retail value quad times.I wish I can return it read more

My experience at Apple Optometry on Topanga Canyon Blvd. was very professional, efficient and kind to me. Dr. Carol A. and her staff were compassionate and very kind to a slow senior on her walker with a complicated eye history, who was definitely not at her best that day. I await my glasses with confidence. She obviously had more expertise than needed, even for me. Everyone went out of their way to propose accomodations for my physical and comfort needs. Dr. Carol and the staff took whatever time was necessary; never impersonal, or rushed, even when I was slow enough to warrant it. END read more

First time truly getting an eye exam... and I must tell you! Such a great experience! I was able to come and go with my new glasses! Highly recommend Dr. Carol and her staff for all your eye needs! read more

Apple Optometry - Optometrists Near Me - Chatsworth, California

Small neighborhood optometrist with a big heart! I love the optometrist as well as the staff here at Apple Optometry. I came in looking for glasses. I'm a bit picky with glasses since my face is long and square shaped. When I walked in, Hermineh is sitting at the desk to greet you with a smile and friendly service. Carol, the optometrist, gave me my check up for my eyes. She was professional and had excellent bedside manners and explained exactly what I needed in order to see clearly with my new glasses. Because of my prescription, we had to order out of the store but got them within 3 days of my check up. The prices are reasonable and the amount of stock they have of different types of glasses are perfect for a face that is hard to shop for! read more

Apple Optometry - My new glasses! - Optometrists Near Me - Chatsworth, California

After going to Costco for many years, I decided to try AO because of the good reviews. Their office is very clean and has tons of quality frames to choose from. They also have such modern machines to 'test' your eyes. Unfortunately, because I have such a special/wonky prescription Ive had to trial numerous contacts and bring in back my frames to get them changed (initial prescription didnt work out). But nonetheless, I am very impressed with this place. The staff is so kind and amazing. Dr. Carol was so patient with me when I was trying on a billion contacts and I could tell she was striving to make sure I was happy and content with the right lenses/contacts. I even jokingly said that in order for me to test out my vision, I needed to watch Netflix... so Dr. Carol went straight to her ipad and played a movie for me! Shes a wonderful optometrist and I highly recommend everyone going here. read more

After my first visit, of course I recommend Dr. Carol and her staff! I had a great experience from beginning to end. Yes, entirely professional and friendly and easy to talk...(answered all my questions and concerns). They have a good selection of stylish glasses and options to choose from. I needed 3 pairs of glasses for computer, night driving and sunglasses. They provided me with sensible advise. Done and done, a week later or so they called that glasses are ready for fitting. Yay! Best of all, Saturday appointments are available. Yay! Thank you Dr. Carol and staff! Yay! read more

Great , honest and caring Doctor. I called during her day off and she went in to see my mother as an emergency ... I loved this gesture . The office is super clean and I noticed she has some great , Gucci , Prada , and Tom Ford frames. read more

Dr. Miriam was fantastic. Sadly, the frame selection was really limited compared to other places. On top of that, they carried only one mid priced brand while the rest were luxury... Should have been the other way around. Our regular provider was no longer in network which was the reason I came here with the family but when quoted lense treatments, it was even higher even though Apple is in network! Finally, opticians are equally important as the eye doctor, but they really lack experience with fitting frames. They adjusted as requested, but it was lacking. read more

Neighborhood optometrist with a high class feel. Honestly I dread going to the optometrist. I have trouble getting fitted for contacts, they end up hurting my eyes, and tend to be more trouble than they're worth. I also usually walk out with glasses that I feel alright about, but nothing stellar. Dr. Kochkarian is an amazing doctor. He explained every part of the process to me and answered all my questions about my eye health. I've been wearing glasses for 15 years and this was the first time a doctor actually took the time to answer my questions. He promised me he would find a good fit for my contacts, and he did. I finally have contacts that I can actually wear all day. The process was painless and fun. Then it came to getting my new glasses. The staff assisted me with all different kinds, until I found the perfect ones. The staff member actually took the time to give her honest opinion on the glasses and how they fit my face. I've never gotten so many compliments on my glasses until I left here. If you're looking for a local optometrist that is actually knowledgeable with friendly staff, look no further. read more

Very expensive and rude staff not for me. The new phone depreciate or diminish in value over a period time. Y not the spectacles and services read more

Do not go here. The optometrists overprice all their products and prices here. Recently they even started selling Halloween contacts by a particular brand that retails at around 30-40$ online. Since I didn't order mine online in time I figured I'd stop by here but to my surprise they tried to scam me into paying 100$ for these contacts. How dare an optometrist try and pull a stunt like that. Must be in a pinch for money or maybe they're just greedy. Nonetheless, it's bad business. read more

$1676.00 for a pair of glasses@#$! See invoice below... I'm a 48 year old math teacher and until recently my eyes started going out on me. I was having difficulty with tying fishing knots, and I was having a hard time reading the fine detail in my textbooks. I went to Apple Optometry, which is right around the corner from me in Chatsworth, to get my eye exam. This was my first experience with an optometrist. My insurance only covered my basic eye exam. After part 1of 2 of my eye exams the lady at the counter helped me select a pair of glasses that would fit my needs. I went back into the exam room to get another exam; they wanted to look at the back of my eyes. I was interested in the new drops that can help with seeing up close. The doctor gave her option on the drops, but said I would have to schedule another appointment to determine if I was a candidate for the eye drops. Anyways, throughout this whole process PRICE was not mentioned at all. Only when I was about to leave and pay, they slapped a $989.00 bill (not including exam) at me for a pair of Progressive Glasses ( Later found out they were Nike brand). I thought this was high, but again this is my first experience with an eye doctor. They lady at the counter said with very little motivation, that we can go through and look at the cheaper glasses, which I didn't, I just wanted out. I ended up paying half then and I was going to pay the other half when I picked up my glasses. I went home and discusses my experience with my wife and friends ( one being an optometrist in Valencia). I told them how much I paid and they all said I was taken advantage of. I confirmed with my friend who is an optometrist and he also said I paid way too much for these glasses; well he actually said I got a** raped. He said the average of cost for a pair of progressives is around $600. We'll this math teacher got taken advantage of and I will not go back. Two weeks later I still have not even received a receipt, so I can't even break down the price. I called the office today to get a receipt, but they said I'll have to wait till tomorrow and they can send me my receipt. It's too bad that most businesses today, even medical, have a Used Car Salesmen mentality. I've been a teacher for 21 year now; I do it for the kids and when I get taken advantage like this, it makes me very sad that there are people in this world who will do anything to make an extra buck. _______________________________________________ On 7/28 So I got my receipt back and here's the real damage. My insurance did cover about 35% of the cost, so in addition to paying $989.00 my insurance dished out another $687.00. (math does not make sense;35%?) I also noticed they charged me $150 for something called fundus photograph; this was the photo the doctor took of the back of my eyes, this was part 2 of the eye exam, which I though was part of the usual eye exam, until I received the receipt, stating otherwise. 92004 92004 Comprehensive Examination - new patient EYEMED 200.00 Insurance Estimated Payment -200.00 Refraction 92015 Determination of Refractive State EYEMED 50.00 Insurance Estimated Payment -50.00 92250 92250 Fundus Photography EYEMED 150.00 Insurance Estimated Payment -111.00 Patient's Responsibility [39.00] Frame V2020 Frame UPC:886895467728 8045 EYEMED 370.00 Insurance Estimated Payment -129.50 Patient's Responsibility [240.50] Trivex V2782 Qnt 2: Trivex EYEMED 180.00 Insurance Estimated Payment -36.00 Patient's Responsibility [144.00] CRIZAL AV... I came here to get my eyes checked as a second opinion and I am so happy I did! Dr. Carol Aivazian did very thorough job to make sure everything is okay with my eyes. I am able to see very clearly with the prescription she wrote and highly recommended her! read more

Super cool people! I walked in with broken glasses that I didn't even purchase from them as they are new to the area. The woman at the desk couldn't have been nicer. A great comfortable place to get glasses with friendly people that know their stuff backwards and forwards. I was very impressed with their knowledge and professionalism. Incredibly they were able to find me super comfortable quality frames on the first go round based on my taste. Usually I have to go through a half dozen frames till I find a frame that feels right. I especially like their lenses that are much more high quality that I've experienced at other optometrists and they make my eyes feel less dry and more natural than lenses I've had before. Apple Optometry was able to essentially make me a pair of custom sun glass lenses for a particular Nike sun glass frame that is no longer available which other Optometrists said was impossible. It wasn't cheap but you pay for the impossible! Prices overall are reasonable. Not cheap but not sky high either. Next time you need glasses or have a change in prescription, I totally recommend Apple Optometry. read more

I recently had an eye exam here and I have to say it was the best experience I've had at the optometrist. I hate going to the doctor in general, but I knew it was time to have my eyes checked. Dr. Van Kochkarian was patient, knowledgeable, and kind. I felt like I was taken good care of, and as a result of the great experience I had, I am definitely less reluctant to return next year when it comes time for a check up.
