So happy to have found this gem! From the first time that I called to get the kids scheduled the actual Dr. made sure the kids where seen the same day. They are all very professional and friendly. Truly happy that I found them. I definitely will be recommending them to my friends and family.

The ladies were so nice here at Porter Ranch Optometry! A lady attempted and tried but it was a fail because i need to go back to Louis Vuitton store to get the glasses replaced. However, the service was phenomenal the lady that helped me was very sweet and personable. The store is very neat as well ! They have many brands of glasses here! I will come back here to order prescription glasses that I need!! I highly recommend here if you need glasses!! 5/5 for me!! -Marshay D.

I was seen 10-15 minutes after my appointment time. The first examination room could be cleaner. The machine was also a tad bit high so I wish they had an adjustable height chair or machine. Dr. Kh. was good, but she was very much focused on directing the conversation in a way to sell more services. She told me that everything was alright, but she would like to watch this and that and for that I needed that...in a tone that made me wonder if there is something wrong with my eyes. I also didn't know that people of my nationality have different optical nerves. I hope that is not a bad thing.

My family and I feel so lucky to have found Avant Eyes Optometry…read more I live in Porter Ranch and used to drive all the way to Burbank to see my old optometrist. When Avant opened at The Vineyards, a friend recommended I give Dr. Kataria a try and I'm so glad I did!! She is incredibly thorough. Not only did she explain everything clearly, but she also showed me detailed images of my eyes, helping me for the first time truly understand what was going on. It's true what they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. Best part is the office is spotless and equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools. I was so impressed by Dr. Kataria's knowledge and kind bedside manner that I now bring my two kids as well. I'm grateful to have such a high quality, locally owned practice right here in the community. I love being able to support a small business that genuinely cares.

Unfortunately, your response mischaracterizes several of the concerns I raised and also contains a…read morestatement regarding my medical-record requests that I need to correct. I was not asking your office to take responsibility for educating me about my insurance plan, nor was I disputing that members should understand their own benefits. My concern was that your staff was actively using insurance benefit information on your computer to calculate the amount I was being asked to pay for prescription eyewear, yet I was not permitted to review the benefit information being used to arrive at that amount. I specifically asked if I could simply view the benefit information on the screen so I could understand how my coverage was being applied to the proposed charges. I was told I could not see it because the document contained the office's tax ID number. I was not asking for your confidential tax information. I was asking to verify the insurance benefits and calculations being applied to my purchase and my financial responsibility. Telling a patient what they owe while refusing to allow them to review the benefit information being relied upon to calculate that amount creates an unnecessary lack of transparency. I ultimately left without purchasing the glasses because I was uncomfortable agreeing to charges I could not independently verify. I also need to correct YOUR statement that, "had we received any medical record requests, we would have happily provided those." I have sent 3 separate written emails requesting my medical records and have received no response to either request. I have documentation of all communications. Therefore, suggesting publicly that your office has not received a request does not reflect my documented attempts to obtain my records. Additionally, your statement that my records would be provided "with a $25 charge" does not accurately explain California's medical-record fee provisions. Under California Health & Safety Code § 123110, a provider may charge a reasonable, cost-based fee for providing copies. California's Medical Board specifically explains that the copying charge may not exceed $0.25 per page for paper copies or $0.50 per page for microfilm, together with reasonable clerical costs. The law does not establish a blanket, automatic $25 fee simply because a patient requests their records. More importantly, California law provides specific timelines for responding to patient record requests. For a written request for copies, the records generally must be provided within 15 days of receipt. A request to inspect records is subject to a five-working-day timeframe. The Medical Board of California specifically advises patients who have made written requests and have not received their records within the applicable timeframe that they may file a complaint and should include copies of their written requests. Your reference to a nine-page intake form does not resolve either issue. An office policy or signed intake form does not eliminate a patient's rights under applicable California law, nor does it address why my 3 written requests have gone unanswered. I also find the statement that billing insurance is merely a "courtesy" beside the point. Your office chose to participate in the insurance transaction and presented me with pricing based upon insurance benefits. Once those benefits are being used to determine what I am expected to pay, it is entirely reasonable for me to ask how that amount was calculated and to request enough information to verify it. I would have been perfectly satisfied if your staff had simply explained the calculation and allowed me to verify the portions of the benefit information applicable to me while redacting or otherwise protecting any genuinely confidential business information. My concern was never that I did not understand that I have responsibilities as an insured member. My concerns are transparency, the accuracy of the financial information being presented to me, and my ability to obtain my own medical records after making documented written requests. At this point, rather than continuing to debate these issues publicly, I am requesting that your office respond to my 3 outstanding written medical-record requests and provide the records in accordance with the applicable requirements of California law.
