If you know of an eye doctor who doesn't try to upsell you expensive eyelid lasers or amniotic sacs that are meant for burn victims, please message me. I'd love to find someone who is honest.

Pushed me off on some other doctor and ophthalmologist. I asked if they can just take a look and without being able to give me a reason why, they've decided it will be out of pocket. They're always happy to answer my questions and engage in conversation with me. Dr. Nishida is very passionate; you can tell she loves what she does. On my last visit, she recommended NeuroLens to correct a focusing issue that was causing me a lot of eye strain and stress. I wasn't sure about it - the lenses are quite pricey - but I never felt pushed, only supported. I decided to go for it and WOW, the difference is incredible. It took about three days to get used to the new lenses, but the transition was gentle, and the difference is everything. Almost immediately, my eye strain was gone; no more pain, no more headaches. If NeuroLens is recommended for you, I whole-heartedly recommend pursuing it. Definitely changed my life.

Disappointing Experience and Overcharged…read more I visited Lori Eugenio's optometry practice for an eye exam and glasses and was charged almost $500. The frames were of poor quality, seemingly sourced cheaply from China. At the time, I didn't know what the going rate was, and since I knew her personally, I felt embarrassed to question the price. So, I paid the amount, trusting her and not expecting to be taken advantage of. Recently, I had an eye exam at another optometrist office (this exam was $85- no additional charges) and the doctor informed me that my eyes are fine for over-the-counter reading glasses, and I didn't need prescription lenses. Given that I have a +1.50 prescription, this made me realize I was likely overcharged for something I didn't need, which is deeply disappointing. I would not recommend this practice to anyone and advise others to be cautious when seeking services here.

They always work with me to find the most comfortable brand of toric contact lenses, as well as a prescription for glasses. (I buy my glasses and contacts online, so I can't speak to their optician services.) As I've gotten older, now I also have farsightedness and diabetes. I mention that because not only do they continue correcting my vision accurately, with progressives, but they have a Nikon Optos retinal camera. That means that I don't have to go to a separate ophthalmologist for diabetic retinal imaging. I go once a year. It takes 30 to 40 minutes. Dr. Monji, Dr. Ichiuji, and their son Dr. Brett Monji are a good team. Kathie and Tanisha have been there for ages, and they remember me. Everything gets done as it's supposed to. Then I come back the next year.

Over the last month, I've left at least 3 messages for the billing department so I could ask them to charge the card on file or take a card by phone, but they never returned my call. When I finally reached someone, I was told charge a fee to take payments by phone. What's the point of storing my credit card in their system if patients are forced to mail in checks because phone calls go unanswered and calls don't get returned? The actual clinical experience was disappointing too. The optometrist was fine, but before I could see him, they sent an optometry student in. The student lacked basic bedside manner and hygiene. She didn't introduce herself or state her role, didn't ask if it was okay for me to see a student, left the exam room door wide open for other patients to hear our conversation. I didn't see her wash her hands or wear gloves before touching my eye. Perhaps she used hand sanitizer outside the room, but I was surprised she didn't wear gloves. Good things: scheduling is easy for urgent issues, as they got me in same day when I felt I had something stuck in my eye.
