I came by two weeks ago without an appointment to get a new pair of eyeglasses I lost along 6th Avenue earlier that day. Ana Florez was able to get me to see a doctor and get a new eye exam right away. She also helped me get four new pairs of glasses -- two eyeglasses with progressive lens, a computer/reading pair and a pair of sunglasses. She helped pick the right lens and frames for me and walked me through how each pair works. Nothing having worn progressives before, she helped me get used to it. Mind you, we did all of this in under 2 hours -- from eye exam to choosing the frames and lens. It took 2 weeks to get all my pairs ready and when I got them, they looked great! Ana was spectacular and gave very good advice on which pairs to get. The eye doctor was very efficient, quick and friendly. The staff was snappy and attentive. It's been my go-to store for three years now. read more

Huge fan! Drs Butler and Klibanoff are great, the staff are super-nice and they have a terrific frame selection. Had a contact lens emergency and they squeezed me in which was SO appreciated. Many people I work with go to Studio Optix and it has a very loyal following. read more

I love, love love this place, Dr. Cassell is the best optician in New York. He took such good care of my eyes, making sure I got the exact right prescription --as it turned out the Rx I had from my previous optician was wrong! He took into consideration my job--I'm a writer and I stare at screens all day so I needed a lower prescription than I had been wearing.) since then I've had no more headaches and much less eye fatigue. My contact lenses fit like a dream and they gave me tons of samples of cleansers and drops--it was a really nice, thoughtful touch. I love the staff, they really made sure my lenses fit perfectly and gave me all kinds of advice. Plus you can't beat the location: rockerfeller center. My old optician was so depressing to go to--this place is glamorous and fun. read more

Out of towner in for the holidays. Floaters start going nuts in one eye. Call, they take me, test me and give me a (benign) diagnosis all within 1 hour. These people are wonderful. read more

This is hands down the best eye care I have ever received. Called with an eye infection and they got me in within the hour with Dr. Butler who was fabulous. Have been in numerous times with Dr. Cassel who is so knowledgable and thorough. They have amazing equipment for eye tests and walk you through every step whether it be for an infection or fitting for the right contacts/glasses. The front desk staff, as well as the technicians, are equally wonderful. Another perk is the convenient location if you live and work in Midtown as it is next door to 30 Rock. I would be hard pressed to find a nicer, trendier eye doctor along with top notch service. 6 stars! read more

The doctor was fine but this place definitely is not worth the overpriced contact lens exam fee even with your insurance. It's lovely how they tell you everything after the fact. read more

I started coming here when I was working in the same building and had an emergency with my eyes back in 2008. Dr. Cassell saw me right away and prescribed some antibiotics for me which worked so well. After that, I continued seeing him as my eye doctor. Before him, when I went to get eye glasses, the eye doctor only had me read a few letters on the white poster and looked at my eyes with a machine to figure out what type of glasses I needed. Dr. Cassell has advanced technology to check different areas of the eye and to help evaluate how your vision will be in the future. His staff is very helpful. They are trendy and honest when it comes to picking out the right pair of glasses. I now work in another county and still go to the city for my eye examinations!! read more

I was impressed from the time I stepped into the store. And even more so when I had my exam. They had the latest equipment and the doctor was able to pinpoint my needs instead of a series of guesses. I don't know how to explain it better. The selection of glasses and the help in finding what worked for me was more than I had expected. Well located, not pretentious, and made me feel just as important as any of the celebrities who shop there. I would recommend the eye exam and the selection of eyewear to anyone I know. read more

The staff here is friendly and super helpful. Thank you Dr. Butler!!! I had a really positive experience here. Beautiful styles of glasses as well as contact lenses to suit all of your optical needs. Highly recommend. read more

Studio Optix is the best! Dr. Cassel makes going to the eye doctor a pleasant experience, from start to finish. The individual plan he made for me regarding contacts v. glasses and the overall attention and intelligence that he brings to appointments makes this my go to eye doctor in the city. Sandy, who helped me with the glasses, was amazing. She made the process of finding new glasses feel easy and fun. She understood the look I was going for and what would compliment my face and I left with two wonderful new pairs. I highly recommend this office for your eye care and glasses needs! It's the best that I've come across, truly. read more

I have been going to Studio Optix for 3 years. All of the state of the art machinery for eye testing, along with their extraordinary service and care, makes Studio Optix best-in-class. Studio Optix takes the time to understand you not only as a customer, but also as a person, and in exchange locate the most perfect pair of glasses and shades for you! Doctors that are passionate about their work, will make you become passionate about your health! read more

Best glasses store in NYC. I have been a customer for over 20 years. I found the store while in pursuit of unique quality frames and continue to frequent Studio Optix as they carry the best frames in town. If are looking for something special, this is the place. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. read more

Great service. They have a broad range of stylish frames and they understand what suits and what doesn't. They are transparent with their pricing and tailor their service to an individual customer well. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Klibanoff for many years now and I can't say enough about the care I get from her and the rest of the team at Studio Optix. They go above and beyond to make you feel at ease and welcome in their offices. My glasses always turn out perfect. Honestly the easiest Doctor's visit each year! read more

I walked into Studio Optix because it was the closest optical place to my office. All I needed was to measure my PD (pupilary distance) for an incomplete glasses prescription. It takes less than one minute to measure a PD, but because I hadn't ordered glasses through them, they refused. I offered to pay them; they still refused. I think that good customer service is essential to building a loyal, happy client base. Had they helped me, I might have gone to them for future exams, prescriptions, glasses, etc. But instead, the woman I spoke to was incredibly rude and wouldn't take a minute to help me. Now I'll make sure no one at my office goes to them. read more

I normally do not take the time to write Yelp reviews but in this case I feel the need to notify others of my horrible experience with Studio Optics. Upon making an appointment, they confirmed that my insurance covered my annual exam. When I went to pay, they added on several additional costs which brought my bill to $135 vs. my co-pay of $10 including a "contact lens evaluation". When I inquired about the additional charges, the doctor claimed that she explained to me about the additional charge, which was just not true. The services the doctor performed couldn't have been more routine so am still puzzled what their justification was for the additional charges. The services took probably five minutes to conduct in total. Virtually every moment of my visit to Studio Optix was occupied with the doctor or their sales professionals trying to upsell me additional products or services. It was difficult to trust any recommendation they provided. The whole experience was odd and very unethical. I am not used to being taken advantage of. I caution anyone from considering Studio Optix! There have to be more professional, thoughtful eye doctors in New York City. read more

I was on vacation in New York, arrived on a Thursday and woke up on Friday and was unable see out of my right eye, it was extremely swollen, tearing and painful. In addition to being in an immense amount of pain, I was terrified that something was seriously wrong when I could not see out of my right eye. Fortunately, I was with my best friend that lives in NY when this all went down and she was able to recommend Dr. Mitchell Cassell with Studio Optix to me. I called into their office, explained my situation and they were extremely accommodating and got me an appointment that morning. After a comprehensive exam, I was diagnosed me with Keratitis (inflammation of the Cornea) and put on a strict regimen of eye drops, ointment and no contact lenses. I had a follow-up appointment the next morning with Dr. Cassel and was so thrilled I was able to turn such a huge corner overnight, begin to see out of my right eye again, reduce the pain and actually enjoy the rest of my vacation! Furthermore, he gave me a fantastic recommendation for a new eye Dr. in Los Angeles that has been able to follow-up with me for care on my Keratitis and general eye exams going forward! I have been wearing glasses/contact lenses for over 23 years and I have NEVER had such a wonderful experience with an eye Dr. PLUS, the selection of glasses at Studio Optix is FABULOUS, too bad I didn't have time to make that happen as well. read more

I have been going here for many years now for my annual exam and contacts refills. Friendly staff, quick service, top of the line equipment, and knowledgable optometrist. I have never purchased glasses or sunglasses from them before, so I can't speak to that area. But, my overall experience is always pleasant. read more

Beautiful practice and friendly staff. Excellent selection of glasses. Highly recommend

I've been a patient of Dr Cassel's for over 15 years and have been extremely satisfied with the service he provides. Along side his knowledge and expertise, the exam incorporates all the latest technology to visually present a snapshot of eye health. The staff at Studio Optix is always courteous, competent and professional; I've seen very little turnover over the years. Combine all of the above with their great selection of unique frames, is it any wonder that I always look forward to my annual visit. read more

Studio Optix is a great place to go. I've had terrible experiences with eye doctors in the past so i can really appreciate the efficiency of Studio Optix. They have state of the art equipment that allows them to really take every possible look at your eyes, but that doesn't mean the doctors are any less thorough. Dr. Brandon Butler, especially, is someone I would highly recommend. The machines that are supposed to give prescription recommendations always say I need a SUPER high prescription because I have really stressed eyes, when in reality I only have a slight astigmatism. It would be easy for them to just give me the wrong prescription and send me on my way (I've had it done before). He took the time to check my eyes and make sure that I got the exact prescription I needed. I've been seeing SO MUCH BETTER. For a year! read more

This my first Yelp review, prompted by a very positive experience at Studio Optix. Sunglasses' arms were detaching so a Google search led me here. Immediately greeted, given an estimate (incredibly low price), and had the glasses taken to be repaired. Quickly told what the issue was and asked to come back when the technician returned from break. Stopped back a bit later and the glasses were taken for repair and returned in perfect condition less than 15 minutes later. So many retail stores you enter and find staff who don't know the products, lack professionalism, move slowly, aren't friendly, etc. For me, Apple stores set the standard for customer service, and this place reminded me of the efficiency, motivatedness, and investment there. Now, you may have a different experience - I didn't deal with every staffer there, so I can't vouch for every worker and every kind of transaction. But I endorse this place. read more

Great service, latest technology and range of products. Dr. Cassel and his team are the best in the biz. A terrible optical studio. After I paid and was given a receipt for services rendered, the manager called me and said she had added up my balance incorrectly. I gave them a call yesterday and to my surprise (and probably a little luck), they were able to see me first thing this morning. All in all, it was a ridiculously great experience. Adam helped me with selecting the perfect frame and was super patient and provided great feedback on the styles I was asking about. I met with Dr. Sarah, who was not only pleasant, friendly and helpful, but explained everything about my eye health covering each and every detail, as I hadn't had an eye exam in quite a few years. Their selection of frames and location is key, but I think their best asset is the personal touch they provide. You can really tell that they value their customers and it shows. Highly Recommended!!! read more

By far the best optical care I've ever received. The technology is more advanced than any optics place and the people who work there are smart, caring and helpful. This place and it's staff is phenomenal. I have been wearing glasses since I was 11, 16 yrs later and this is the first time I upgrade my glasses without being frustrated in the process. Adam assisted me and did an excellent job. I thought it was just me but when I started reading blogs about this place, I realized that I wasn' t the only one feeling this way. I can't say enough good things about Studio Optix - I've been going there for years. Dr. Mitch is an ACE and as good as they get. He always goes the extra mile for me and for my kids at every exam. Dr. Cassel did me a huge favor about a week ago. I was strolling along at 10pm when my last contact lens fell out of my eye and onto the street. After frantic googling I came upon the studio optix 24 hr emergency number that Dr. Cassel himself answered! He told me to come in at 7:30am the next morning! Not only did he give me a full eye exam on such short notice, a discount for having my old perscription, he was so fast that I still made my 8:15 bus at the Port Authority and was on time to work at 9am. He'll have me as a customer for life! read more

TAKING IT TO 1 STAR, WISH COULD GIVE 0 Went back to pick up the 3rd attempt at my lenses. After finding the job poorly done again, i was told it would be "in my best interest to just take the frames with the original lens". The arrogance in this place is only matched by it's prices: over bloated. Having paid $525 FOR A PAIR OF SUNGLASSES I've had to come back to this place already 5 times, and still got treated like they are doing me some kind of favor. I cancelled the whole thing and that was the first positive experience i've had here. SALES STAFF LACKS BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS, SNOBS WITH AN ATTITUDE. I've been using Studio Optix since 2005. They have an excellent, broad selection, and fantastic customer service. Above and beyond.

I needed to find an eye doctor in the city, and this place was recommended to me by a friend. When I called for an appt. they were friendly and made it easy to pick a time (and when I had to reschedule they were totally cool with it). Upon entering I was greeted and within 10 minutes was starting the exam. The equipment was incredibly modern and they never had to dilate my eyes which was great during a busy NYC day, and the doctor I saw was incredibly helpful in answering questions and explaining what was going on. Clean office, intelligent people, efficient. The check-out process was easy, and though I was asked about looking for frames in the store I informed an employee I was going elsewhere and he backed off, never did I feel pressure to shop there as well. Highly recommend Studio Optix, will for sure go back in a year for the next check up! read more

There is something wrong with Dr. Cassel. He is rude, and aggressive. The were unable to do a correct prescription and after I went through the expense of paying for new lens based on this incorrect prescription (costly to say the least) it was evident the prescription was wrong. They said they would correct it. They did not. And, in the meantime, they were liars, rude and made me feel I was the problem. Refused to admit the lens prescription was wrong. I am calling my insurance provider to log an official complaint, and I will have to go to small claims courts to get back the money I spent on new lens based on their inaccurate prescription. Very bad place. Don't go there. Buyer beware. I expect they will be out of biz soon. Stuff like that catches up on them. read more
