I came down with a raging, scorching, Godawful case of pink eye. I'd gone to the walk-in NYU clinic on 14th, but I needed far more treatment, and a coworker recommended Studio Optix. I'm so so glad I discovered this place. I saw Dr. Sarah Klibanoff who was so great and compassionate. Also, as a brand-new, walk-in patient, they saw me the same day two different days. Trust me, I'm not famous. They were just extremely accommodating. Can't say enough good things about them. read more

I wouldn't buy frames here as they are extremely expensive but coming here for an eye exam is more than fine. These guys mail you to remind you when your exam is and nag you throughout the year about buying additional contact lenses. read more

I was running very low on contacts and emailed the office as this is a crazy time during the Coronavirus quarantines. Adam emailed me back a few short minutes later and then followed up with a call. He took a small order for me despite my prescription being expired as they are doing all they can to help out. I will have my contacts in 2 days and for sure will make another appointment when things get back to normal. TRULY appreciate the amazing customer service with all things considered! Thanks Adam! read more

Studio optix doesn't give you a 1 year contact lens prescription, as they are required by law. In fact, they make it really difficult to get your glasses and contacts prescriptions, and give you the hard sell to get you to order contacts through them vs online. I'm a little surprised that 12 years after the FTC made it it clear that customers have certain rights with respect to their contact lens prescriptions, Studio Optix still does not comply with the law (and doesn't seem aware of their requirements under the law). read more

The customer service in this store is unparalleled. Adam was absolutely fantastic at helping me find the perfect pair of glasses. I will never go anywhere else for my eye wear needs. Their selection of designer frames is literally the best that I've ever seen during my 18+ years of wearing glasses. I cannot recommend this place enough. read more

Walked into Studio Optic today to check out some frames. I was greeted very nicely by one young lady. Very nice welcome. She directed me to a sales woman named Dawn. Dawn gave me the nastiest look in the whole world. She asked if there was anything in particular I was looking for. I said no even tho I was looking for something in particular. They lost a really good sale and a very loyal client. Smh. Thank Dawn. read more

I had same experience with Upselling. I had a contact lens exam and ordered contacts thru these guys. that went fine. I wear contacts all day, everyday. Occasionally at night I will wear glasses at home to watch TV or a movie. I wanted to order a new back up pair of glasses - something inexpensive, no bells and whistles. Studio Optix was pushing all the extra features, and "required" that I get the thinner lens for my prescription, or else they "could not make" the glasses for me. I took my business elsewhere: less expensive and No Issue with ordering regular thickness lenses. I will not return. read more

I hadn't been to Studio Optix in two years and I had forgotten why I had avoided it until my most recent visit. The first issue was the wait. I was there early and had to wait an additional 20 minutes after the start of my appointment to be seen. Overall I was there for an hour and 15 minutes. It's a routine eye exam! C'mon! The doctor recommended glasses and I said I had an interest in purchasing glasses online which turned into a multi-episode, condescending tirade about the perils of ordering online and tried desperately to make me reconsider purchasing glasses at his store. That may sound like reasonable advice from a doctor, but the whole spell was handled in such a poor way. I felt I was being interrogated. Why would I want to order glasses online? Because I can get sylish frames with prescription lenses at more than a third of the cost. Other reviewers are correct in saying Studio Optix upsells on everything. I'm sorry that I have deprived you of $500, but other businesses are doing it better. I don't need to be made to feel like a child for making a decision that I feel is right for me financially. I ran into a similar problem years earlier when I wanted my prescription information to purchase contact lenses online. They didn't understand that it's far more convenient to have contacts delivered to my door than having to come to their office for a pickup. I was so angry by my encounter at this place that it spurred me to sign up for Yelp, just so I could rate Studio Optix. In conclusion: Does anyone know a good eye doctor? read more

I was strolling by this shop and noticed a cute pair of glasses in the window that I had to have!!! Adam greeted me when I walked in to snag them! I was just going to buy them and deal with the prescription when I got home but Adam said there was a Dr. that could do an exam in 10 min. and get me the right prescription. I was so skeptical!! It takes an hour when I go to my own optometrist in Los Angeles. I went ahead and did it and it was a 10 exam!!! Paperwork was filled out, insurance was accepted and a week later I received my glasses to my home in L.A. They are, by far, the BEST prescription I've ever had! I can see perfectly near and far, the glasses are unique and fun and I always get a positive comment whenever I wear them!!! Thanks Studio Optix and Adam! I'll be in on my next trip to NY in April to see what new things you have!!! read more

I have to agree with others that the upsell pressure from the sales help is very strong. One person, in particular, practically held my prescription hostage because he didn't seem to want me to buy my glasses somewhere else. I've bought many pairs here before but the upsell is still strong every time. Also some of the staff can be condescending and impatient. Sometimes when I've called I've felt like I couldn't get any questions answered because of the constant interruptions from the staff member. The only thing that has kept me coming back is the excellent service from Drs Cassell and Klibanoff. Both are great. However it's time now for me to find someone new because I'm tired of the poor sales service. read more

In response to the Studio Optix employee responding to the review. He did NOT Go elsewhere BEFORE your office. He went there FIRST due to the proximity of your office to his. He went to another practice after his issue was not resolved. Then we paid more to get his prescription right. And, we DID get charged for the repeated visits. Your service was pleasant, friendly and professional. And we hope that you'll continue this quality of service with significant improvement on billing and results. Though the costs may not be exorbitant for us, considering your location, the time spent by my husband going back many times was valuable and productive time wasted. I'm sure others may be satisfied with your services and they should review accordingly. Unfortunately in this instance, one client is not. read more

Never coming back here, left very frustrated. Just needed the basics, and I feel like I was swindled. They tried to up-sell everything. I was not sure what was covered under my insurance and they took full advantage of that, but gave me the impression I was covered. And then the bill came and told me flat out I wasn't covered for things that minutes before they had said I was. I regret coming here and feel like they tried whatever they could to go around my insurance plan and charge me unnecessarily for things I did not need. Thank god my insurance company was so helpful, they called the office on my behalf to dispute the charges but the doctor refused. read more

I don't think I could've run away fast enough. I was in Studio Optix for the first time today and witnessed the optometrist, Dr. Cassel (I assume), make one of his customers cry. The girl came out sobbing and he was completely dismissive of her feelings and whatever was wrong with her--it seemed like something must have gone wrong in her exam?? She seemed legitimately upset and he couldn't have cared less. The staff looked horrified. I have no idea what happened, but considering this guy would be dealing with one of my most precious assets and after seeing the way he treated a customer (an upset one, at that), I'd recommend staying the hell away from his business. read more

If you aren't famous, don't bother going here (unless you enjoy being treated like a burden that's barely 'tolerated' to fill in the time between famous peoples' visits. They were rude and dismissive, anxious to hustle me out (presumably to make room in case an 'important' person showed up) and just adequate at their profession. Why anyone would pay their exorbitant prices and deal with the attitudes at this store can only be a wish to tell one's friends "I overpay for glasses the same place Katie Couric does". Congratulations. I'm sure Katie doesn't get nearly the same treatment that you will if you disregard the numerous negative reviews and go to this cramped, miserable, under-staffed, inflated-ego, overpriced store. Consider the above before wasting your time and getting annoyed. read more

the glasses are expensive. but dr. mitch is the best. thorough, attentive, and responsive. i'll even fight my way thru rockefeller xmas foot traffic to see him. read more

Excellent Service. I found Studio Optix by searching through many companies on the internet and reading numerous reviews. The customer service is excellent, they have state of the art equipment and the employees are extremely friendly and professional. I have now been going to Studio Optix for 2 years and the excellent customer service has been consistent on all of my visits. I have been assisted by Andrea who is extremely helpful and knowledgeable of all eyewear products. There is no hard sell to get me to spend money and there is no pressure to purchase. If I have been unsure of something Andrea advises to think about it and wait for a few weeks before making a decision. When I have made a decision on what I would like to purchase, everything is fully explained and there are no hidden extras. Studio Optix also provides excellent follow up service. My previous optometrist was in London (who held a royal warrant), the service that I have received at this establishment has been faultless and is equal to the best service that I received in London. read more

Have been going to STUDIO OPTIX for 11 years now, and trust them with my eyes. Some of their frames are on the pricey side, but they have an amazing selection to choose from. The staff has always been helpful, attentive and courteous. You couldn't ask for a better group of people to take care of you, and your eyes. read more

I work in the building and needed a new pair of glasses so stopped in. There were at least 8 people working there, and absolutely no clients. I walked in, and NO ONE, not a single person asked to help me. What a terrible way to run a business. I walked around and looked at the merchandise, and immediately walked out. Taking my business elsewhere. read more

I felt the need to write this review as soon as I got back to my computer. I work around the corner from Studio Optix and I had a semi-crisis whereby my left contact fell out of my eye and when I went to clean it properly (with saline) and put it back into my eye it was just not cooperating, i.e. severe burning. I didn't have another pair on me nor did I have my eyeglasses with me (lesson learned). So I called Studio Optix and they told me to come in right away which I did. The receptionist was super friendly and attended to me right away. I told her I don't think I needed to see a doctor, but really just needed another contact for my left eye. She graciously stopped what she was going and ran in the back to get me another pair, and voila, back to seeing the world clearly (without pain)! This is the definition of *great* service. There was no way I could have gone back to work without being able to see. Thank you Studio Optix for saving the day. On a side note, I have been coming to Studio Optix for about 2 years now and I highly recommend it, especially if you work in the area. I always make my appointments to see Dr. Rana (who is AWESOME by the way) during lunch and I am always done in a timely manner, never late getting back to work. They also do a great job in explaining how my insurance works, i.e. the breakdown of what is covered,, etc. Five stars for Studio Optix! read more

Great office. Staff is nice, and Dr. Butler was fantastic! Empathetic, clear and helpful. After my exam, I was presented with 5-6 frames that all looked great on my face. Thanks! read more

Another solid eye exam experience with the staff and Dr. Kilbanoff. I greatly appreciate their willingness to price match on contacts, given the number of online options these days. read more

Very pleasant and knowledgeable staff and The Doctors are the best, genuinely concerned for their patients. I'm glad that I made the choice to visit the office several years ago. read more

I had my reservations about going to an optometrist by Rock Center. With so many clients inevitably going in and out the door, one expects the quality of the service to suffer a bit. Doctor Klibanoff was friendly, knowledgable, and had great bedside manner. She was thorough and efficient, which I really value. I won't be going anywhere else :) read more

This is definitely the place to go for your eye exam. Dr. Sarah Klibanoff was knowledgeable, thorough, and personable. I've already recommended her to my friends :) read more

This place is awesome!! Had an amazing consultation with Adam, he put me right at ease going through all the tests, scans and screening with some super cool high tech equipment. Then had a very thorough and fun exam with Dr. Sarah, she couldn't have been nicer with her bubbly smile and energy. Then it back with Adam to pick out some frames. I had specific needs and he was so patient helping find the right pair of glasses for me! I think we picked out a winning pair! Thank you Studio Optix!! read more

My contact ripped while I was at work, and there was no way I was running all the way home. I ran inside Studio Optix right across the street (completely dizzy and with vertigo now that I had only one good eye), and they totally took care of me and my sad left eye. They weren't too friendly, but I'd rather have poker faces who can help me out than useless smiley-faces. read more

Having been a client for two years, these guys are on the ball. Very good with keeping appointments and sending appointment reminders, and not too much upselling, if any. Extremely reliable service. Highly recommended. read more

Studio Optix is great. I've gone to both Dr. Cassel and Dr. Klibanoff and they are really wonderful and thorough. I've been going to Studio Optix for 8+ years for my annual eye exam. I do not wear glasses or contacts but feel very confident in Studio Optix expertise in eye health. The staff are also very friendly - and scheduling an appointment is very easy. I would definitely recommend Studio Optix to anyone. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Klibanoff for over 3 years now. The exams are always thorough, examining both my vision and the health of my eyes. I purchase my contacts here regularly, you don't have to worry about price because they match 1-800-contacts. I've also purchased prescription eyeglasses there. Due to the location, they carry upscale frame brands, so they are a bit pricey. Last year I didn't find anything in my budget, so they were happy to let me take my RX with me and buy glasses elsewhere. This year they were able to find me something in my budget, and I'm very happy. I will continue to be a loyal customer! read more

Been going to Studio Optix for 4 years now. Great service, knowledgable and friendly doctor on the premises, state of the art software and testing, great selection. Their doctor's rx caused bad headaches. They demanded $1000 extra for new rx. Refused refund. Waste of time and money. Went elsewhere

Top of the line eye care. I travel in from CT to NY annually for my exam and toniest frames. These docs have the best technologies for eye care and prescription refills. It's cool great people watching and you never know what celebrity may pop in. Dr. Mitch runs an outstanding business. Thanks for keeping me healthy and with clear crisp vision. read more

I came by Optix when my only pair of glasses broke - at 6pm the day before I had to leave for vacation. They were really friendly and helpful. Although my old frame couldn't be saved, they found a frame which would work with my old lenses. They replaced the frame perfectly and took the time to adjust them to make sure they fit comfortably. An hour later, I walked out with a new frame - vacation saved! Everyone was really helpful, and during the hour I spent waiting for my glasses, I got the chance to watch their interactions with other customers. All the salespeople were really nice and patient, and not at all pushy. I can't comment on their prices as I didn't have the chance to do any comparison shopping, but I'm very satisfied with my experience. read more

Great place! Great selection of cool, hip eyewear, although somewhat on the pricey side. Mitchell Cassel is an great optometrist. Takes his time with you and is very thorough! Great office. Lots of great frames and super optical staff. Followed Dr Butler from his previous practice because he is so good.
