    Half of Reuben Sandwich

I went here for lunch during the week, and chose to eat inside vs outside because it was a hot day. Everyone working there was very friendly, and inside was very clean. I ordered the Reuben sandwich. It was really good (I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes a nicely stacked Reuben). My photo only shows 1/2 the sandwich because I ate the other half right away (it looked, and was, very good ).

It's a rainy day, this restaurant can warm you up! They have an ethnic German decor; Shellie was our waitress, she was very attentive and pleasant. I had German Pork Schnitzel with sauerkraut, hubby had Reuben , we all enjoy our food very much, this is our first time traveling through Springfield, it definitely gave me a great first impression.

Loved our time at Student Prince looking at the German decor throughout the restaurant and sitting at the bar. The drinks were poured perfectly from the bartender with the Olympics playing on the tv. My burger was perfectly seasoned and I could taste every flavor from the mushrooms to the oozy egg on top. The pretzel bun is a nice bonus on top of everything else and just puts this restaurant above all else. The delicious chicken sliders are sold individually so you can have as many as you'd like! The fresh red potato skins in the mashed potatoes made us feel at home with sense of the home cooked meal. Absolutely delish!

We visited on a Sunday afternoon. Although we had a reservation, we probably could have walked right in and gotten seated immediatly. The dining room and bar area are both very attractive with dark woodwork, and we were seated right next to a gorgeous stained glass window. Our server was friendly, knowledgable, and very helpful in telling us what the top menu items are since it was our first time visiting The Student Prince. To start, we ordered the Fried Camembert and the potato pancakes. Both were really good and we would order them again. For my entree, I ordered Paprika schnitzel with spatzle and pan fried potatoes. Yum! It was excellent and the serving size was large enough for left overs. My friend ordered a burger, and although I scoffed at him for not trying something German, his burger did look amazing. We had previously been to a different German restaurant in a nearby town, but we much preferred The Student Prince and will look forward to visiting again when we are back in Springfield.

This spot is amazing. The menu is filled with something for everyone, and the food is delicious. The staff were all welcoming and pleasant. I love the decor here too, makes me reminisce of my visits to Germany years who. If you're looking for good German food you have to try this spot.

A little disappointing based on my pasts visits years ago. The Sauerbraten I ordered, I believe, was an eye of the round cut rather than a customery, chuck or Rump Roast which would have been infinitely more flavorful than the eye round. Meat was tender but lacking in flavor and very dry. Spätzle while not bad, I don't think it was made fresh, might have been a frozen product. Nothing wrong with frozen products but fresh is best when doing dumplings. Can't say I picked up on the gingersnap flavor in the gravy either. Rotkohl was very good, however; the real standout was the Sticky Pudding it was phenomenal! Service was good; the ambiance is exceptional, for $91 incl. tip I would have expected more.

The dining experience here is outstanding. Food is delicious, service is friendly and attentive, and I love the atmosphere. My last 2 visits I've had the schnitzel, and the sausage plate. You get a crazy amount of food in each order. I took leftovers back with me after both visits. Decent selection of wine, and an abundance of beers. Both times my servers were beyond attentive even though during my first visit, the bar had a private event happening and the atmosphere was insane, I feared I would never get waited on, but was greeted within minutes. The second visit I was able to sit at the bar after lunch and before dinner, so it was very quiet. I believe the bartender's name was Jennifer. She was awesome. Also love the German kneipen themed restaurant.

The Student Prince is always a worth a visit if you are in Springfield. I tried the Veal Sommer Schnitzel and it was delicious. Oysters Casinos were cooked perfectly. It's a very cool German style restaurant. Shelley, our waitress was friendly and attentive.. I highly recommend making a trip here and enjoying some German beer and great food.

Big place that takes up a entire corner in downtown Chicopee, MA. Three parking lots behind the restaurant. Offering lunch & dinner Sun-Thu 11:30am-9pm, Fri & Sat 11:30am-10pm. We visited here on Saturday evening April 18. 2026. This place was highly recommended by our friends from the German-american Club of Albany (NY). Half our party had been here many previous times & for the other half, it was our first time. This day they were hosting their annual wild game feast in the banquet hall. 50+ people attended this event. Munich Haus has 20 or so special events per year. Our party of six was here for dinner. Our server was the spunky Maria who made this a memorable dinner. We were here for their famous schnitzels. A hearty meal excellently prepared and served eight ways. Comes with soup or salad and choice of two sides (i.e. spaetzle, potato pancakes, sauerkraut, red cabbage, or chef's vegetable). Also you can get a schnitzel sampler of 3 varieties. WOW! Also offered are sauerbraten, rouladen, chicken Reisling, braised lamb shanks, a variety of wursts (sausages) and delicious dessets. It's simply WUNDERBAR! Many thanks again to Maria & the rest of the Munich Haus staff for a tasty & memorable dinner road trip "for a taste of Germany, no passport required." The cheese fondue was substantial, served with bread, apples, cornichons, cocktail onions, chunks of ham, two different kinds of sausages and assorted potatoes, all gorgeously presented on wooden slab. The French onion soup, which we shared as an appetizer was also delicious. Great wine and my fiancé sampled the Vermonter cocktail, a potent concoction of bourbon, sweet vermouth and angostura bitters. Very strong and flavorful! We finished the evening with a slice of apple strudel, complete with a sparkler candle for my belated birthday. Great presentation! The decor and atmosphere here is stunning with fur throws over the seat backs, roses, candlelight and Alpine themes like antler wall sconces. Bathrooms were very clean and decorated with cute retro skiing photos. After we praised the fondue as exceptional, our server offered to bring out the owner so we could meet her. Our whole experience here was very strong until the end of our meal when then service slowed down, which the server explained was due to a large party upstairs, so it took awhile for us to get our dessert. Not a huge deal. While the owner was great to chat with, she then asked if we wanted to enjoy our dessert at the bar so they could seat a larger party using our table and the one next to us (awkward, especially after spending over $200 on dinner, no thanks). Also, we did not appreciate the 2.5 "operational fee" added to our check! Were it not for these last two points, this would have been a five star review because the atmosphere, food and drinks were great!

We were greeted warmly by the hostess and seated right away. They don't have a kid's menu, but they have plenty of kid friendly food to choose from. I love how the dinning area has stone wall and chairs with white fur on them. Great romanic place for dates or special occasions. There were 5 of us and we ordered the pork schnitzel which was perfectly pan fried and seasoned ($36). The ham and cheese crepe was $22, small but very good... I was still left hungry so we also ordered the beet spatzel ($18), it came in a bowl with goat cheese , so good. The chicken entree(forgot the name) was big enough to share by my kids. It was cooked with skin on, which I prefer, crispy skin and tender meat, sooooo good. It was supposed to come with parsnip puree but they were nice enough to sub it with mashed potatoes for my kids. It was devoured! We also shared 2 deserts: apple strudel and bread pudding. They were good, but not the best we've had... For $16 each, maybe this can be skipped. But overall, great meal! Oh forgot to mention they have an apple schnapps shot for $5 that comes in a little Dasboot shot glass. So yummy!! A must try!

There used to be numerous German restaurants in NYC and throughout upstate NY, but over the years those numbers have dwindled substantially to a handful.  A relatively new addition to the local Hudson Valley dining scene Jaeger Haus was started in 2018 (in a 70 year old restaurant building) and serves up seriously tasty and authentic tasting German beer, wine, and food.  We've dined there a few times over the last two years of visiting this year--the mood is relaxed, the beer is delicious, and food remind us of our travels to Germany and Austria.  The menu is tight and by that I mean it's focused on what they do well--which is traditional German food. While I wish they might add a few classic German appetizers to their menu for variety, their range of entrees provides ample choice and I am slowly making my way through those selections. Lola, one of our servers for the evening, quickly took our drink orders.  I ordered a mug of Hofbrau Original Lager (on tap) and after being given a tasting, my wife ordered a pint of Hofbrau Weissbier (which is similar to the sort of wheat beer she occasionally enjoys).  So refreshing.  A basket of house-made thinly sliced Roggenbrot (rye bread) arrived soon after our drinks with softened butter, lightly sprinkled with sea salt. We passed on the appetizers, knowing that our entrees would be substantial.  My wife ordered the Wienershcnitzel which comes with braised red cabbage and house-made spaetzle lightly sauced with a cream gravy.  These are classic sides which one can find served in restaurants from Vienna or Munich to Heidelberg or Berlin.  I ordered exactly the same thing (having tried other dishes on our prior visits), except I ordered my Wienerschnitzel "a la Holstein" (with a fried local farm egg).  The egg, especially the large yolk, provides an added level of lusciousness to the crispy veal.   Our meals arrived in due course.  They were gorgeous to look at and ate even better than they looked.  The spaetzles were soft and fluffy, the red cabbage was rich and well spiced, and the veal . . . the veal was heavenly.  Crisp on the outside, fork tender on the inside, dipping into a bit of the egg yolk (in my case); goodness what a delightful taste sensation. Just delicious.  We both earned "clean plate" certificates tonight--suitable for framing--felt satiated, but not overly full (which is where we like to end a meal).  We nursed our beers a bit longer, sharing memories from this special day, paid our bill (the bill encouraged customers to tip in cash, which we did), thanked the staff, bid the co-owner "danke schön und Wiedersehen" and we were on our way.
