We went to the Chandler Steakhouse to celebrate our anniversary, after losing our monies at the MGM Springfield, which is where this restaurant is located. From start to finish, service was amazing. We originally planned on having dinner at 6:30 pm, but we were hungry at 5:00 pm, walked up to the counter, and they were able to seat us right away. We started off with drinks and apps. The cheese platter was good but the French onion soup with brisket was out of this world. Fo our entrees we ordered the ribeye steak with the caramelized onion butter and the double pork chops with a blue cheese crust. Fire. Bravo. More please. For the sides, we had the blistered asparagus and the truffle mac. We were expecting these to match the energy of the entrees but unfortunately they didn't hit quite as good. And of course since it was our anniversary, we could not leave without ordering dessert. They surprised us with a mini chocolate cake with an anniversary sign and then we ordered the creme brulee which was so creamy and good. Highly recommend this location if you're looking for a good place to celebrate or go on a date. Service was amazing, food was amazing. We'll definitely be back for more! read more

The service was good and the vibes were great. The food was ok. It was very underwhelming. The truffle Mac and cheese needed salt. The cheese plate was great and the table side tiramisu was light and airy. read more

this is the best option at MGM Springfield, i ate at the bar late night when everything else was closed. it was decent but I didn't find anything to be exceptionally memorable. however, i was very happy that they were open later as it's nearly impossible to find quality food open late in the area on a weekday. traditional, classic (but outdated) interior. oysters 8.5/10 chicken 8.5/10 asparagus 8/10 the chandler steakhouse is great for this area. if you're looking for oysters & steak or chicken, this may be your best bet. ambiance: 3.7/5 food: 4.1/5 drinks: n/a service: 4/5 the chandler steakhouse: 3.9/5 read more

Parking: GPS doesn't work when it's actually inside the casino Decor: what you would expect from a traditional steak house with very dark decor with touches of spot color Staff: on point as you would expect from an upscale steakhouse Food: mostly good. The special mashed potatoes tasted like they were out of a box but the filet was cooked perfectly. The shrimp appetizer was delicious. Price: upscale dining I knew it was not going to be cheap but even with that in mind, $200 with zero alcohol seemed a little off Overall: nice dining experience but a bit of a let down that they let anyone in, table across a guy was wearing cargo shorts...and the dining room had an odor like towels were burning, even the manager came over and commented. read more

The Chandler Steakhouse - Shrimp appetizer well presented - Steakhouses Near Me - Springfield, Massachusetts

Walking in it is pretty dark but it sets the mood . High back booth tables make for great privacy .We went to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday and loved it . Our server was very nice and attentive the entire time . The food was great with some exceptions . We hated the duck wings. They were very tough and then drenched in sauce . Very gamey tasting . We also did not like the corn salad. It was literally a stack of corn on lettuce . The salmon was cooked to perfection and the flavor was incredible . The chicken was also great . Best part for me was dessert and the drinks . They heavy pour which is nice considering each drink on average is $17-$20 plus . For dessert the vanilla crème brûlée was PHENOMENAL! read more

This place deserves every terrible review you get. I've now witnessed it. This is hands-down the most overtly racist environment I've ever voluntarily walked into. The entire vibe is built around exclusion--especially toward anyone who doesn't appear poor. As a Black Platinum MGM Rewards member, the treatment I experienced was nothing short of gross. At the very least, have the decency to wait until l've paid or left before showing your ignorance. But no--they made it crystal clear while sitting at the end of the bar, the bartender at Chandlers decided to completely ignore me and serve everyone that came in after. Someone else had to serve me and she ignored me the balance of the evening until the bill came. What an ass. I tip. I play. I spend. And I still got disrespected. Never again. I'll take my money and my loyalty to literally any other property. 2 stars is for the bald bartender who saved the moment. -------------------------------------------------- And 3 months later, I'm a dumbass and a glutton for punishment - nothing changed. Attitudes are still gross and where TF do you get off being short, nasty and dismissive in the only decent restaurant in a pseudo luxe casino. It's sad... just horrible for no reason. #MGM do better with your restaurant partners. This is sad. read more

We have been to Chandlers about 6 or 7 times. Experiences have varied. As I'm writing this, I feel like when we have been seated and waited on by a server, our meals have been phenomenal. Sitting at the bar, not so much. But let's speak on our last time there. It was probably 7pm or so and we sat at the bar. We both ordered the same special. Queen cut prime rib. It came with Yorkshire pudding, garlic mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. Boyfriend ordered his medium rare, I ordered mine medium well expecting some pink. When the food arrived it was not hot. None of it. The brussel sprouts were with bacon and parmesan cheese. We both like a softer brussel sprout over crunchy. These were very crunchy. My prime rib was medium rare and his was rare. He ate his because he likes to have convos with the cow while he's eating. I didn't eat mine. I also don't send food back. If I don't like something, I know not to order it again. The bartender was a gem and took it off our bill once she noticed. It wasn't until the next day that my boyfriend said "we never got the yorkshire pudding!" What was going on Chandlers!?!? Anyway, give the place a shot. It's expensive and we expect to get what we pay for. I would say more times than not we're pleased. read more

We just finished one of the most satisfactory dining experience at Chandler's steakhouse. Food was amazing. I had mentioned a few years back that Chandler's was one of the best steakhouses we had patronized. The same holds true tonight. Our ribeye was fantastic. Our duck wings were delicious. Our addition of crab Oscar hit the the spot. Our server Matthew is absolutely the best. With such a great sense of humor and so professional and prompt w his service, we must remember to ask for him again! (Thank you for honoring our anniversary w the house dessert.) read more

I have visited twice since my last review and sadly my review has dropped more. The food is just gross. Just flavorless and dry. I'm sorry but this was not worth it. Oh here's the best part. Not too much to say, it was an excellent meal with friendly above average service. Had the Filet, cooked to perfection. A really nice circular room, you wouldn't know you were even in a casino. I've tried all the steakhouses at the CT casinos as well, this one is better in my opinion. Prices are steakhouse high, but in that world they are pretty reasonable. Looking forward to coming back. The Chandler, nestled in Springfield, Massachusetts, rises as a bastion of culinary brilliance and sublime ambiance, unveiling a remarkable dining escapade that intertwines culinary finesse with a warm, welcoming atmosphere seamlessly. The bar dining area is adorned with an elegant accouter bar and nocturnal tables, projecting a captivating orange glow that beckons invitingly. The architectural splendor, punctuated by grandiose fluted pillars, melds harmoniously with the plush high-back red velvet seating and the private alcove seating located in the rotunda dining room. This thoughtful arrangement offers a majestic and secluded dining experience, immersing patrons in the exquisite architectural beauty of the establishment. Specifically, from the grand long table, diners are afforded a fascinating glimpse into the kitchen, witnessing steaks kissed by leaping flames as they sear to perfection. This inclusion of innovative transparency allows The Chandler's culinary prowess and passion to be displayed openly. The ambiance is a meticulous orchestration of soft, upbeat music at a harmonious volume, blending seamlessly with the serenity of the surrounding street. This sensory dance is further enhanced by servings of fresh, warm wheat brioche bread and butter, perfectly complemented by sparkling Pellegrino water. The Chandler curates a distinctive and refined cocktail menu. A standout is the "Dancing in the Moonlight" steakhouse cocktail, a delightful symphony of Jasmine Rose Gin, Cointreau, Lemon, and Simple Syrup, crowned with a black cherry at the bottom. The beverage suite also features an old-fashioned with Basil Hayden and a Cherry Pie Pinot Noir, noted for its fruity, smooth characteristics and light tannins. My culinary voyage began with a cold, crisp Caesar salad, enriched with extra anchovies, introducing a remarkable briny essence from the fresh anchovies, beautifully amalgamated with generous slices of cheese and sugary sweet homemade croutons. The entrée, an 18 oz bone-in ribeye steak, executed to Pittsburgh medium with Worcestershire marinated roasted garlic, epitomized culinary excellence. The accompanying black truffle macaroni with Fontina Cheese; and smoky grilled "Blistered" Asparagus with a delectable Gribiche sauce unveiled an ethereal smoky essence, marking a culinary epiphany. This gourmet journey culminated with a meticulously brewed cappuccino, lightly dusted with cinnamon, emblematic of their refined culinary craftsmanship. The staff at The Chandler demonstrated notable professionalism and hospitality, with extremely attentive support staff ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience, marked by their unwavering commitment to guest satisfaction, enhancing the overall joy of every attendee. To conclude, The Chandler is a culinary gem, harmonizing innovative culinary creations with a sumptuous and inviting atmosphere. The perfect fusion of unmatched craftsmanship, culinary brilliance, dedicated service, and opulent ambiance creates an unparalleled dining journey, solidifying The Chandler as a supreme destination for all discerning connoisseurs of gourmet cuisine in Springfield, Massachusetts. read more

A fabulous restaurant found in a casino! I felt like I was someone special from the servers! The food was so delicious. I in fact had smaller portion so that I would not have leftovers since we could not carry it around! The truffle fries were so so good! Chandler steakhouse was more than I expected. The service was attentive and gracious. The food was inventive, tasty, and the portions were very generous. So much food I had to forgo desert. My appetizer was a trio of grilled octopus tostatas with avocado spread, tomatoes, jalapenos, radishes, and a spicy crema dressing. My main dish was the grilled chicken, it was moist inside with a crispy skin. It was accompanied by a savory veloute sauce with the addition of fingerling potatoes and sautéed green beans. Although it's just off the gaming floor, the noise was not noticed making for a relaxed dining experience. read more

Great place for lunch in South Deerfield. Food was average, wait staff was good, ambiance was very nice.

My husband and I visit a handful of times a month. We absolutely love it here. The food and staff are amazing. Hands down one of the better places in the area. We decided to host our company holiday dinner at The Chandler, and they totally exceeded our expectations. From Tom and John (managers) to Chef Corey, Roberta, Ruby and Craig, this experience was out of control amazing. The planning could not have been easier. Everyone was more than willing to accommodate. We took up the three high top tables down the middle of the bar area with 18 guests. Snacks were set up in the window booth which looked beautiful. We were able to hand select our menu- we featured their prime rib special which most guests ordered- all of the food was amazing (to be expected). Every time we visit, we leave more than happy. Their attention to detail for our party really put it over the top for us. We will definitely be having future events here. Never mind dinner tonight :) read more

Very overpriced. I get it's supposed to be a fine dining steakhouse but the food should be outstanding for the prices. I will say the service was great and everyone was very attentive. The ambiance is very dim but very classy. My fiancée got the seared scallops which were almost $40 (comes with nothing but the scallops) and they were good but weren't seared evenly on each side. Plus side dishes are about $15-$20. I got the steak frites (pictured) probably the only thing on the menu where you get your moneys worth; but the steak had little to no flavor plus was over cooked, I asked for medium and got medium well. The fries were good but I mean they're fries, it came with a really good garlic aioli though. Overall it was okay I just expected more flavor and a better cook on the food especially for the price read more

We only stopped in for some apps so we tried the lobster cake, bone marrow and the shrimp cocktail. All were amazing!! The staff was extremely nice and on top of their game. I'm negligent in writing this review since our visit was two months ago. But I wanted to be fair to the restaurant since on our previous visit we did not have a full dinner, we instead ordered apps and burgers. We were determined to see how a full dinner would be on this trip. There is still one more little glitch. This is a Steakhouse and neither of us ordered a steak... well, technically that may not be a totally accurate statement as you'll see. Once again, I started out with a Duke Generosity Lager ($8). My wife is starting to try Old Fashioned cocktails at different places so here she ordered an Orange-Rhubarb Old Fashioned ($15). We both were quite pleased with our drinks. The Lobster Bisque ($16) that was served to my wife with a sherry fennel foam was rich, creamy and very flavorful. My Chandler Onion Soup ($16) topped with caramelized raclette cheese was equally enjoyable. Not feeling like I wanted a steak, I decided to have the Seared Halibut ($36) over Swiss Chard with Saffron Beurre Monté and sun-dried tomatoes. The fish was perfectly cooked and delicious with the saffron flavored butter. The Swiss chard and sun-dried tomatoes added a nice complementing texture. A really nice dish. OK, here's the semi-accurate part. My wife did order a steak... a Grilled Cauliflower Steak ($24). It was served with a cauliflower puree and sun-dried tomatoes. While she said it tasted fine, she admitted that she would not order it again because the flavors were not special enough to satisfy her palate. We did finish off our meal by sharing a Lemon Tart ($10) and a couple cups of very good Coffee ($4 each). The Tart was tart with a nice strong lemon flavor, it was decorated with several florets of meringue and served with a blueberry sauce, blueberry crumble, and blueberry sorbet. A very nice finish to our dinner. read more

Awesome location in the MGM Springfield. For a steakhouse, the prices were fairly reasonable. For a 18oz ribeye I expected to pay well over 70 dollars but it was barely 60 dollars. All the items were rich in flavor and everything came out great. The only criticism would be the truffle Mac and cheese. The noodles were overcooked and it lacked a little seasoning. Overall, I loved the lighting and helpfulness of the staff. Definitely looking to dine again there in the future. read more

Not good. Service was awesome. Food so poor! We've been here many times but the food has been terrible as of late. We had a high top in the bar to order appetizers. The onion soup was awful. I fly into Springfield 4 to 5 times a year to take my mom out and we always go to Chandlers..Never have I had a bad experience ..EXCEPT FOR MOTHER'S DAY THIS PAST WEEKEND .We were a party of 5 and went on a Saturday to AVOID bad service and food..That did NOT WORK .. 2 of the 5 steaks were served charocal burnt -1 got sent back for the 2nd time and that ONE was BOTTOM COVERED IN CHAROCAL& MORE BURNT AND THEY HID IT ON THE BOOTOM SO IT WOULD NOT BE NOTICED,by this time everyone else is almost done eating and want to go to the casino part of the night. We were also missing one of the sides that never arrived until we had to ask the waitress for in the middle of their dinner.(I still at this piont have not eaten),as well as ONLY 4 pieces of bread were brought out at a table of 5..... Too top it all off the steak REMAINED ON MY BILL --when brough to the attention of the waItress -she says" that she clearly took it off". So I show her the bill and she say's...Opps.. So a bill of $560 was presented and I LEFT WITHOUT EATING....SAD!!!!!!!! Neither the manager nor the waitress were apoligic towards my mothers day experience . The greeting from front desk host to servers was very pleasant and really refreshing. Our server Sonya was a 10/10 and never missed any extra details plus many more a true professional. The ambiance is really amazing and transforms the diners to a classy peaceful and serene place but not at all gaudy. Another thing that we really appreciated was the restaurant manager actually takes the time to stop by every table and greet the diners as well as ask how they are enjoying themselves. We started with chilled jumbo shrimp served with a great vodka spiced cocktail sauce a perfect start to the meal alongside the fluffiest warm whole grain bread. My wife had king salmon cooked perfectly and a larger portion than expected over a farro kale risotto 10/10, and I had a NY strip steak cooked exactly as requested with a garnish of a 1/2 charred head of garlic which was a perfect touch..... did I mention the dinner plate sized baked potato on the side with chives, sour cream and butter. Overall a perfect dinner and priced super competitively and so much better quality over those chain steakhouses around the country. It's our 2nd visit in the past 2 years and plan to make it a regular stop once or twice a year. read more

The Chandler steakhouse is the located in the MGM Springfield Casino and Hotel in Springfield, MA. It is the high end restaurant in the casino and is only open on the weekends (Friday, Saturday). I got to try eating here on my last visit to the MGM Springfield Casino before I return back home to Hawaii. When I went there, it was pretty busy. The bar area was almost full and the dining area only had a few open tables. I didn't have a reservation so asked if I could sit at the bar. I got the last seat on the bar between a couple of high rollers I had met on the craps table and a retired military woman. The menu had the normal variety of higher end steaks and seafood at fine dining prices. I wasn't that hungry so I just ordered a ribeye steak med rare with no sides as I didn't have a way to keep or reheat leftovers as I was staying at the hotel. The meal came with bread but the bread was forgettable. My steak came out perfectly and came with a sprig of rosemary and a roasted black garlic. I enjoyed eating my steak and it made me full. The higher rollers next to me were having problems with the way their steak was cooked and didn't want another steak as a replacement. They ordered lots of appetizers as well so they were probably getting full for that as well. But as they were complaining, I was thinking to myself I got lucky ordering the ribeye steak instead of the more expensive steaks. The woman next to me was enjoying talking to the bartender and she ordered a lot of food including a dessert. I was finished eating my meal and was leaving before the woman got here dessert and before the high rollers were done complaining. And I arrived when they already had food in front of them. Service was good but not great by the bartender but he was busy with helping the others at the bar. Overall, my experience was good but I am not sure if they are consistently good due to my neighbors' experience. I would definitely return if I was craving steak and they were open. read more

This is a very attractive restaurant. The viewing windows of the kitchen from the dining area (with the flame rising from the grill) were very neat. The service (especially our server, Theresa) was impeccable. The prices were also reasonable for a restaurant of this ilk. The appetizer (shrimp scampi with crostini) and side dishes (truffled macaroni and cheese and creamed spinach) were also extremely tasty. The 7 oz. filet mignon was about the best we've ever had. My 12 oz. strip steak (not dry aged I don't believe), while very tasty, wasn't very tender and was a bit chewy (hence no 5 star review). Notable muscle fibers throughout. The roasted garlic bulb, which contained soy, ginger, and a balsamic reduction was both imaginative and excellent. The prix fixe menu offering (from 4-5 pm) also offers good value. read more

We came here tonight for dinner, our server Laquita was amazing and helped us decide what to eat. We ended up order garlic shrimp, half chicken w purée potatoes & mushrooms, and half lobster. The lobster was basic, but the garlic shrimp sauce made it better (I would suggest that grill the lobster and pour that garlic sauce on top of it, that will be perfect and get five stars). The half chicken was delicious and the skin was crispy. Lots of flavor and reminded me when I went to Bricco in west Hartford and ate their chicken dish. Very similar with flavoring! Garlic shrimp was good and savory. However the price tag of $21 for 4 jumbo shrimp was not worth it. I wouldn't order again because of it. Overall our dinner was well worth it since my fiancé had food comp of $80 bucks and our dinner was due to him playing poker at mgm. Thanks to him we had a free dinner. read more

Walked in 5 to 10 minutes after closing not expecting anything magical to happen, but, in fact, magic is real and I witnessed it first hand at this restaurant. Servers and bartenders did a great job in inquiring on whether I could be taken or not, to which the answer was a solemn, 'no'. So, I shrugged my shoulders knowing the restaurant business, and decided to just sit at the bar and order a cocktail. Within 3 minutes of me sitting at the bar a man appears to my left asking what I'd like to eat, and to my surprise it was the executive chef himself! Through my shock he apologized, took my order, the order came out and he returned to check on me at least three more times, pepper in the bartenders and servers checking on me and apologizing for any miscommunication all the while. Today marks the absolute best restaurant experience I've ever had in my life. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at the Chandler. read more
