First and foremost for us, they are dog friendly on the patio! We were traveling with our dachshund and needed a place to eat where he would be welcome (too warm to leave him in the car) that also wasn't the typical "burger and fries" joint. We split the Harris Platter and 2 frog legs (added on). It was enough for us because we were looking to eat light, but those with more robust appetites may not be able to share. A side + hushpuppies were included so we got the Real Southern Potato Casserole. Hushpuppies were GREAT and I believe they were made in house. The shrimp, frog legs and catfish were seasoned and fried to perfection. Crab cakes were on the smaller side (after all, it is a sampler) but packed a LOT of flavor. The remoulade was a great accompaniment (and tasted like it was made in house as well). Clam strips were good overall, but we're not really 'clam' people so we're not sure what is good and what isn't. We did, however, end up eating everything on our plate so they definitely worked for us! They offer Pepsi products as well as beer and a full bar. We ordered a West Sixth IPA (brewed in Lexington), which paired nicely with our seafood. Everyone that worked there was so sweet and friendly, including our very attentive server (we don't remember her name but wish we would have so we could give her a shout out!). We would definitely return here if we're ever back in the area. read more

I stopped in today for a late lunch while working in the area. I'm so glad I found this place. I walked in and went straight to the bar for a seat. It wasn't crowded at all. I was quickly waited on by the bartender/server. The staff were very friendly. I had a local craft beer, Paducah Beer Werks Irish Red, which paired well with the Made from Scratch Hush Puppies and Fried Crawfish Tails. The Homemade Remoulade for dipping was excellent. I would definitely come back and would recommend to anyone visiting the area. The nautical theme is throughout the restaurant and I noticed a few fish tanks as well. read more

Be aware, they'll try to impose a 3% service charge on card transactions, whether debit card or credit card. We had not been to Strickland's since leaving Paducah more than five years ago and were disappointed in the general overall experience this time, compared to what we previously experienced. Our meals were somewhat lackluster and our server wasn't particularly engaging or attentive. However, the worst part was when we were presented our bill, it stated they add 3% for all card chargers, whether debit or credit. We told our server they are in their right to add for the service charge on credit cards, but it is illegal to impose a service fee on debit card transactions. He brought the manager over to our table and we explained our reluctance to pay 3% on a debit card transaction and he finally, somewhat reluctantly agreed to rewrite the bill without the service charge. read more

Stopped back in and had the Cod Roll and it was GREAT!!! Got seated fairly quickly and the wait staff was very friendly. They have two different sections (three if counting the outdoor patio). We sat in the bar area this time and it was what you would expect, people mingling around a bit and socializing. Great atmosphere!! read more

Wow wow wow. Came in on a Friday night. Tried the hot and spicy crawfish dip and it was okay. Then I had the best crab legs of my life. How good? I came back again the next day for lunch. When I came back Saturday we got the crab bites and they were very good. Had the crab legs for the second day in a row and they were still 10 out of 10. Can't wait to come back. For as popular as this place is I do think they could upgrade their tables a little. Our server on valentines afternoon was great and took care of our group of 11. Their house wines are Woodbridge which is actually under the Robert mondavi label. read more

This is a diamond in the countryside. Great food, interesting selections and great service. Happy to check it out again.

Quaint. Great service. Fair prices. Wife's grilled chicken with penne pasta was excellent. I had the Harris seafood platter. Crab bites were tiny but tasty. Catfish filet was thin and just OK. Clam strips were good. Fried shrimp was OK. Coconut shrimp was tasty. Hush puppies were OK. Gumbo not great as advertised. Just OK. read more

Service was fast and very friendly. The tartar sauce was to die for we loved our crabcakes. I love my blackened catfish. I don't remember anything that I didn't like. Honestly, we will definitely be back and we definitely recommend thank y'all so much. read more

I wish it was close to my home but it's 4 hours away. I'm comfortable saying it would be my go to seafood place. Service was great we asked for for a appetizer not on the menu and they made it happen. The many choices offered on the menu made it difficult knowing you couldn't pick them all. I opted for a plater with catfish, Crab bites, shrimp, coconut shrimp, and fried crawfish tails. My wife went for a more healthy choice of baked cod stuffed with crab I stole a bite wow it was perfect. They have different specials daily. The next time I'm close I'll be back. read more

Super casual dining experience with good service. The seafood special award winning Best Bite was absolutely delicious!

My friend and I were in Paducah shopping and decided to have dinner at Stricklands. It was a beautiful afternoon so we sat outside. The waitress was very kind and helpful. We ordered drinks. I ordered a double Basil Hayden sour and my friend Tanqueray and tonic. We had shrimp, crab cakes, mahi and Ahi. All were delicious. Half way through the meal we ordered another drink. When the check came my 2 drinks were $56. $28 each. I understand that a double is 2ce the price as a single but in a place where 95% of the menu items are $20ish or less and the restaurant is NOT high end one would not expect to pay this much for a drink. If you are going to charge above average prices they should be disclosed. No prices are on the menu. read more

We arrived at 11:35 on a Wednesday and were the only ones there. Luckily others trickled in as we ate. We were seated in the bar area which is a mix of funky nautical wall decor and hard minimalist furnishings. The service was ok, not super attentive though, especially given the light crowd. My wife had the fish tacos and said they were excellent, maybe the best she's had. The fish were perfectly crunchy and not greasy and came with a slaw with lime flavoring that added to the taste. Hush puppies were also tasty and not greasy. The Cajun rice was very dry though. I had a grilled blackened chicken breast, which was heavily seasoned, which I loved. Really great taste and the chicken was tender. Had Cajun red beans and rice. The beans had a deep flavor, but the rice was the same dry rice that was under the chicken snd that my wife had. Really good flavors here will put this on our return visit list next time we are in town. read more

When I head out for seafood, I'm immediately looking forward to crispy, tasty hush puppies. Unfortunately, Strickland's Seafood offers an average recipe (read: bland). No one at our table finished theirs. Now onto the highlights: friendly, efficient service, affordable and healthy menu options. I opted for the Grilled Shrimp (over a bed of brown rice) with a side of broccoli. It was good...not great, but solid. The biggest miss (IMO) was the taste of the hush puppies, but I've already covered that. You can tell from the decor (see photos) the ambiance is casual. read more

The only drawback to our dining experience was the long wait for a table. We were told 30 minutes and we waited almost an hour to be seated. The service (Zach) was great and the food was very good. I had the best red snapper I have ever eaten. I would visit again if I was in the area. read more

Came on the recommendation from a friend (04/25/2026), I'd heard mixed reviews so I was curious about this place. I'll give them 4.75 stars, but they did fantastic so I'll round up for this place. First, we walk in the door and Zack walked past and complimented the boss on her snazzy shirt and a few other staff were friendly too so the vibe was nice to start off. We were then led to our table to discover Zack is our server for the night. Another compliment on the bosses glasses, okay she did look great - Thanks Zack! Drinks come out super fast and we get our food ordered. Zack was great helping with Alpha Gal and later following up with the kitchen staff that they had in fact not put butter on my fish - another win. I ordered the red fish special (I think) with a baked potato and the boss got the Harris Platter. Zack recommended blackened and was so right, delicious! I tried her fired catfish and that was delicious too, but would have dipped it in hot sauce, but the cocktail sauce was so yummy with a nice horseradish bite - delicious and maybe better than hot sauce (slander I know). That 0.25 off - well the hushpuppies were kinda gross and bland. This is the south so quality hushpuppies are a must. Ask for Zack, you will not be dissapointed. read more

The food was really good!! I had the catfish and I loved it!! The place was clean and the service was good too!!

Excellent food and service! Friendly staff. Order the shrimp casserole. You will not be disappointed. Excellent hushpuppies.

Food was amazing and service was outstanding. Our server Zach was very personable and took great care of us, keeping drinks full and table cleared.I couldn't have asked for a better time or nicer meal. I definitely recommend Strickland's Seafood to anyone looking for a great meal, good service and a clean fun atmosphere. Yes, they serve other things besides seafood to satisfy any appetite. I usually love this place and when in town always eat here. Today I only had time to get an order to go. Was in there almost 10 minutes before ever seeing anybody. Finally placed my order and got a beer while I waited and it wasn't very cold, the floor was sticky and the place just didn't feel very clean and then to top it off when I got home they shorted me on my order of hush puppies! Very disappointed today, Stricklands you can do better than this! Added... Didn't look at receipt closely till I got home (yes I know my fault) and saw a 10% gratuity added for a ToGo order! This was not some big order it was 3 bowls of soup, hush puppies and creole bites! Top it all off the soup was too salty and did not taste like the soup I have bragged about in past, maybe a new cook but damn I'm not happy with today's experience! read more

Disappointed. Not even close to real Cajun flavor. I knew oyster in KY shouldn't be that great, but mine were little and not great looking. I was expecting a great cat fish... not at all dry, skinny and tasteless. Surprisingly. Steak was good. Waiter was very nice read more

Clam chowder had no clams to it and very bland. The shrimp Alfredo with blackened shrimp felt burnt and had minimal seasoning. The food felt very frozen and then simply reheated. I love me some Strickland's! I am usually eating a late lunch alone, so I just eat at the bar so I can watch whatever sports is on TV, even if it is a cornhole tournament. I'm not a fan of their fried catfish (maybe it was just an off day). I loved the oysters, but wish they sold less than a dozen. There was no way I could eat that many and the price tag was surprising. Their hush puppies are always good and red rice could be a staple in my house if they would sell it by the gallon. Their signature cocktails are always yummy, just don't drink them too fast or arrange for the Uber early on! read more

I was in the mood for seafood while out of town on business so stopped at Strickland's. It had a decent number of reviews and 4 stars. I was very disappointed with my experience. After I arrived, I sat at the bar and it seemed that no one knew what a waitress should do. It was probably 5 minutes before I was greeted. I ordered and the food came out quickly but only warm. The shrimp were over cooked which made them so hard to peel. I was going to stick around for dessert because I love key lime pie but the waitress provided me with my bill before I could order it. (Even though I mentioned interest at the beginning of the meal). read more

Our waitress was really nice and friendly. We ordered two appetizers and only one came out as an appetizer-the oysters. The least amount of work was done for this dish and it was the best. Our other appetizers- the jalapeño potato skins came out with our food, and we had to ask-"where's the jalapeños??" Not on our skins apparently. We both ordered the surf and turf special. I asked how many shrimp come with it and was told 5. I got 3. We both ordered our steak blackened. Normally I like that seasoning blend, but this was like licking a salt block left for a deer in the woods. My red beans and rice were no more than a table spoon of rice my shrimp were placed ON with a side of pork and beans sprinkled with green onions. No. They were not served in the same dish. I have no idea why. They didn't even taste like red beans and rice. For a restaurant to have been trained in southern Cajun cooking, it lacked the flavor- except salt. My steak also had large areas of fat and gristle that I had to cut away, which left about half a steak. It was still pretty decent amount as they are large steaks. I just suggest not to order it blackened unless you like your tongue to burn from all the salt. There was also a mound of I'm not sure what, placed on the steak. It looked like a scoop of bacon grease. I scraped it off. I ended up taking my steak and putting it on the potato skin plate in hopes of decreasing the saltiness and whatever the stuff on top was. It was still a gooey mess when it came time to take plates. I did not bring these things up to the waitress. Why? Because we arrived at 8 pm. They close at 9 and all the mishaps, I feel like the work staff must've been ready to leave. Waitress asked if I needed more water after she brought the bill, and I said yes. I never did get that water. If I ever came back, I'd stick with oysters. They were delicious. read more
