Friendly service. Reasonable prices. Ordered a pulled pork sandwich, side of baked beans and a sweet tea. Very generous with pork on sandwich and the beans were tasty. Simple BBQ joint decor. Highly recommend. read more

Amazing barbecue and there own source is great. Great service fast and friendly. Easy to get to and have great parking

Husband and I just popped in on our way to the lake, and we are so happy we did. Tiny little hidden gem, what it lacked in decor it made up for with terrific, on point and kind service coupled with tasty BBQ. The menu is small but mighty. We shared the brisket plate, coleslaw, baked beans, and potato salad. Everything was cooked well and full of flavor, reminded me of home. The girl working the front was super friendly and helpful, chef was also sweet and offered to refill my drink as we left. For the price point, absolutely cannot be beat. We will be back read more

Small little hole in the wall with great bbq. Brisket sandwich with thick slices, nice bark and NO fat! Super tender chicken. Good nachos and pulled pork. We were all impressed with their food. read more

Never been disappointed here. Have visited here several times throughout the years the food is always good and the price point. The service was good and it was also fast. The only improvement I would recommend is maybe it's time to refresh the inside a bit as it's slowly becoming worn from all the repeat business. Which isn't a bad thing. Just need to maybe think about updating to some newer booth and tables/chairs. Can't go wrong here. read more

That sauce is straight ! The crew stopped in from Kansas City and this place didn't disappoint. I would highly recommend. That sauce was so good I bought some to take back to Kansas City! Price is reasonable as well. Nice little place along the road. read more

J-MACK BBQ - That sauce - Barbeque Near Me - Gilbertsville, Kentucky

Everything is bad, sauce to sweet, small expensive servings , over priced way overpriced

Nothing to look at from the outside or inside. Building in need of an update, but definitely a good find. Pulled pork and Mack daddy tasted great. Service was very friendly and fast. Portions for the sides very small. read more

I placed a to-go order last summer! It was ready on time & tasted great! My family loved it!

Not a ton of options driving through this area of Kentucky, but we stopped off for a quick snack. Fairly small family joint, with maybe a dozen tables. Prices seemed fair and they had something for everyone. Had a pulled pork sandwich and couple sides. No complaints. Sauce had a good zip too. read more

Ordered a pork plate with baked beans and potato salad. Pulled pork was nice and tender. Sides were very good and a large portion. The St. Louis style ribs were meaty and tender. Much larger than I was expecting. The sides of baked beans and house made potato chips were big enough to share. The chips were warm. They are seasoned and waffle style. Always a winner! When we are in the area of Ky. Lake this is a must stop on our itinerary. read more

The best smoked brisket, pork , chicken or ribs in the area. We have tried all the local places around here and none compare to the food here. The smoked brisket is my favorite, they will give you nice thick slices that are smoked perfect, and believe me I am pickey. Like BBQ, then this is the place to get it around the area. read more

We stopped in on a road trip from STL to Orlando. Cute, clean little town. The restaurant has a smaller parking lot but our truck and 36' trailer fit without a problem. The place wasn't busy when we came in on a Saturday. To eat I got the BBQ Nachos with Mack chips and baked beans. I also added potato salad. He got the Mack Daddy which is a pork and brisket and got beans and Cole slaw on the side. Portions were small. The sides honestly tasted store bought, but were good. The Mack chips on the nachos were really good and had a yummy seasoning on them. Overall, was ok, but left hungry. read more

The reviews make this place sound good. Terrible is about all I can say. The ribs were mostly fat, a layer of liquid grease on the bottom of the plate. My wife told our server about the fat, and her response was maybe they'll be better next time. It was though the ribs were par boiled and baked. The brisket was not fork tender by any means. Not terribly tough, but not the texture of a well cooked brisket . Very limited amount of side choices (cole slaw was fine). They have a sign out front listing a bunch of awards they've won at various places. Based on what we ate, they had to be the only contestant.. Not worth the money. When the server is asked what she recommends and she says the nachos, this is not a BBQ joint. read more

I've been to this location approximately three to four times. The food never disappoints, the staff, however small, was thoughtful and friendly towards everyone. I would, without a doubt, recommend this place to anyone! read more

Delicious place to stop. I wish we had BBQ like this in California. The brisket and pulled pork re amazing

Food is ALWAYS yummy and you can get bbq sauce that is NOT spicy. Most restaurants now assume everyone wants everything spicy (I guess these other places have to spice it up to cover up the tasteless food) Not J- Mac's! You don't even need sauce !! Service is ALWAYS prompt and courteous. read more

Stopped by on my way through town and grabbed a quick bit to eat. Everyone was super friendly here. I let them know I was pretty hungry so they recommended the loaded tater, it did not disappoint! The pulled pork had a really nice clean smoke that wasn't overpowering and complimented the bbq sauce really well. Their hot bbq sauce was the best sauce I can remember trying, I even bought some to go. Prices are very reasonable. Go here you'll love it. read more

Sorry not a fan of this place. I Wanted some pork BBQ so I thought would give it a try and it is overpriced for the quality and taste I expect. The BBQ had low taste and the sauce is just as bad or worse. Most likely will not return. read more

Very moist pulled pork and brisket. Great potato salad! Nice servers. Really good iced tea

Pretty good stuff, just wish they'd be more prepared for their demand. They always run out of meats.

Fantastic BBQ. They say award winning and I believe it. I was waited on by Christian, and he was a fine example of fine southern hospitality. It was near closing and the Ribs had sold out (sign you are at a good spot) so I got the Pulled Pork Plate. Turns out that was the last plate of that too. Very good BBQ. Smoke flavor was perfect and it was very tender. The sauce is "Push ya Granny in the Creek Good" (And I love my granny). Oh and the sweet tea!!! Shhooowwwweee it was good. REAL SOUTHERN SWEET TEA! I will definitely make a point to stop here again. read more

Go there for very good barbecue. We had traveled from Michigan and were tired and hungry. It was close to closing time, but the manager let us come in. We had delicious pulled pork. If we were still in the area, we'd go there to try their other dishes of ribs and chicken. We'll stop here again when we pass through. Enjoy read more

The food here is always good and I recommend going in for tater Tuesday's ! Always friendly staff and good service!

Yummy food and great service! Only suggestion would be to include a side of BBQ sauce with the brisket

The food is not 4.5 star, the brisket was kinda tough, chips were good. I'd still recommend it because it's better than getting McDonald's or other processed foods. Also the workers are nice and the restaurant is clean. Posting because I travel a lot and rely on yelp for honest reviews. read more

Good brisket. I wanted more sauce with mine. The sauce was good too. Plus it was served by a really cute girl. I will be back.

Best pork butts ever!! Super friendly and accommodating staff. Definitely a pleasant surprise.

Ribs were outstanding! Plenty of meat that just fell off the bone! Can't brag about the sides. Definitely not homemade sides. Canned goods is not a positive. Will definitely return for the ribs too! They were out of chicken and ham so they must be awesome like the ribs read more

Yum! This place is awesome. You will see that the locals use there bbq on everything and for good reason. Definite hit up for a low key meal

Tastes are subjective. My ribs tasted a little underdone. The homemade chips were very salty. The people were great.

Aww man, I'm a foodie truck driver. Saw a crowd in the parking lot and made a U-turn. Ordered The Mike.. Didn't look like that much food until it was on the table. I thought I could finish it. I'm an idiot. Hahaha!! Every bite was delicious.. Try it.. I dare you!! Good luck!! read more
