We decided to stop at an antique store. When we were heading to an antique store, we saw this hotel and decided to stay there for the night. We asked about good barbecue places and he suggested this restaurant. We got lucky it is the Saturday before Easter and got there at 5:30 and they were sold out of everything except for chicken and ribs. So we went with the chicken and ribs and they were delicious. I love the coleslaw and a sweet tea. They closed down early because they ran out of all meats. read more

We saw two young men outside with a 1920's something John Deere hit n miss pump. We had to check it out. What a cool machine! They were making ice cream. We couldn't resist on this 95 degree day and has been riding our motorcycles all day. Six of us tried the butter pecan, bourbon ice cream and banana ice cream. Best ice cream we have ever had. The BBQ smelled ok but we had already had lunch. We will def come back next time we are in this area. read more

Stopped in to pick up brisket and when we had it later for dinner I will say it was extremely tasty and moist. The restaurant is very cute with plenty if seating. If you like heat order their spicy sauce to go with your bbq, it has a KICK! I would highly recommend this place just based on the brisket. We are going back to try their Friday fish fry soon. read more

Decided against the bbq for a change and was NOT disappointed. Got the Friday night fish sampler and it was great. Fish was tender and crisp, shrimp was tender and flavorful, frog legs were perfectly cooked, and the white beans were just plain comforting. I have NEVER had anything here that wasn't good. Went there tonight for the first time and picked up the family pleaser to go (1 & 1/2 pound of pulled pork, with two sides, and some buns), and some chicken wings. Their homemade barbecue sauce is out of this world, the best sauce around, and their homemade wing sauce is delicious too... can't wait to try the ribs!!! read more

We drove 25 minutes from our lake home to try the barbecue here and avoid crowds on a busy July 4th weekend at the lake. It turned out to be awesome food and a nice atmosphere! Had ribs, potato salad, and baked beans that were all very good. The server was friendly and our food arrived very quickly. We will be back again for this great barbecue! read more

My experience with CopperTop BBQ started in Santa Ana California. I was down there for a business trip and was staying at the Holiday in. I was at the hotel restaurant grabbing dinner and a few drinks and noticed a gentleman wearing a CopperTop BBQ hat. I mentioned that I was from Texas and I sure enjoy a good BBQ. Unbeknownst to me he was the owner, Chad. We got to talking about brisket, ribs, sauces and what not. It was a great conversation talking about the different techniques. He then asked for my address and offered to send me a bottle of CopperTop sauce. So I gave him my address. Sure enough, a week later there was BBQ sauce in my mailbox! I'd like to describe it as sweet with a little heat, and in that order too. He won this Texan over. I'm an instant fan. Thanks Chad!!! read more

3 1/2 stars, but I don't round up. When I'm in an unfamiliar place, I feel fortunate to luck into some good food. That was certainly the case with the Coppertop. Walking in, the smell of hickory smoke hit my nose, and my mouth immediately started watering for some good barbeque. Opening the menu, I saw the house specialty was the ribs, so I went with the half-rack with slaw and beans. (Only needed the half-rack since my daughter wasn't around to steal from my plate.) Ribs were very good. Their sauce tasted homemade and was surprisingly spicy, which I especially enjoyed. Vinegar-based slaw was sweeter than expected. Baked beans were decent. Sitting by myself, I appreciated that they had free wifi. (Just ask for the password.) I met the owner, who said they'd been open for about 18 months. Here's hoping they continue to make great food! read more

Friendly staff, amazing ribs, brisket, pizza and homemade ice-cream! My favorite is the smothered baked potato topped with the brisket. The sides are fabulous too and their coleslaw is incredible. This is a great stop on the way to shop Amish goods in Marion or to do the Cave In Rock Ferry. read more

Visited Lake Barkley/Kentucky Lake over the Labor Day weekend and on our last night searched for Barbecue. We chose CopperTop based on Yelp reviews. This restaurant is so popular that they had run out of ribs and chicken by the time we arrived. We chose pork and brisket both of which were very tender and tasty! We also chose the homemade chips - a must. Best of all the staff (and owner himself) were very friendly and attentive. We will definitely visit this restaurant the next time we're in town. read more

We eat here several times a year. The food is always great. The servers are always nice. The only minor complaint i have is it takes a little while to get the food , whether they are busy or not. We happened to be in Fredonia for a men's softball tournament. We decided to give this place a try, and we were all SO impressed!! Everything they had was great!! Ribs were awesome, brisket, pulled pork, chicken, baked beans...they were all so good! They give generous portions and the prices are more than fair!! We have actually been telling people about this place today! The bananas foster ice cream pie thing was sooo good! Awesome place, we will be making the drive again just to eat there! read more
